Super interesting to hear the guitar chords alone. Those chords sound overtly major and up-beat sounding. I just had to analyze why some of the song sounded a bit more haunting, and its fascinating to analyze how with just adding those bass notes, it sometimes implies minor chords. All these layers is why I love your music.
I was thinking the same thing. So interesting. And I don't know if you had this experience, but now when I hear this song I can kind of hear both moods at the same time
ive always wanted to be taught how to play the song from the creator.. i feel like they should make song tabs official band merch at this point. im also very glad that you have a bunch of the songs on here cus ive been itching to play doom in full bloom too
Mike, thank you so much for this. It’s quite possibly my favorite AF song, and it’s one that has boggled my mind every time I sit down and try to play along. 🙏
I hope you have fun playing the Beat Kitchen! Thank you for the video! These videos are like melodic tones ringing out above a juxtapose of noise from the world! Cheers!
@mike kinsella - Please open the American Football show as Owen when you play at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Two bucket lists in one night would be incredible!
It's so weird hearing your guitar parts seperate from the winding bass foundation.... It's almost like "Give Me The Gun" in that sense, but instead of a winding bass for that, it's a winding drum pattern..... so cool!!!!!
It’d be 13 if the long long short long long long short was a loop but it stretches out in 4 cycles of 1234 1234 123 1234 (long long short long x4) when he starts singing which equals 15 notes and that’s how it fits in the beat that is in 15/whatever I’m not a drummer. Song fucking rules tho.
Ha! 1:31 "So you can muscle memory that". I see what you did there...
It continues to haunt me.
