Watching these old episodes, especially the revisited myths, made me think that no matter how scientific and bullet proof the experiments were conducted, if the myth was busted there was going to be some viewers pointing the finger screaming "Gno you got it all wrong"
this is one of my favorite myths, the strapped on top of a car one. the rig is so technical and fun (and hot pink!). jamie looks like he's just having a good time really. watching him slamming into the rig on that hard brake made my jaw drop as a kid.
Well, Jammie body looks that he was doing some crazy stuff when he was young. And if you all remember Alaska cabin fever, Adam went sleeping while Jammie was exercising, so it is a little give away that he might’ve been doing some exercising before :)
Considering how long it takes to flow through one prison bar you’re better off getting out for good behaviour in the time it take to floss your way to freedom and that’s provided no one notices you flossing one Bar in half
Wouldn't fly in the car wash in my town. For one, the car is stationary. You park it, get out, activate the car wash program from the outside, wait until you can drive it out. And even with the car washes that pull your car through like in this episode, there's a brush roll cleaning the top of the car that would run over you. Plus the dryer moves over the contours of the car, blasting hot air and being a general risk of sqishing a finger or a limb.
both the roller and the dryer work by using distance sensors scanning the contour of the car - including the person on top. Otherwise they'd constantly crash into differently shaped cars. It's unpleasant as hell for sure, but you're not getting decapitated by the traverse of the dryer. More likely getting flayed by the brush...
LOL We say it like that here in Norway as well. "It is so obvious that this is stupid and we should stop, but no, no, no...". Mostly to people you know and in a funny setting.
I feel like for the roof part of the car myth if they had also tethered Jamie by the feet/legs they could have made the entire rig much safer/less painful without compromising the test. That way whenever he's flung, he wouldn't be flopping around like a rag doll beside and in front of the car. He'd still lose his grip, and get thrown around, but every part of his body would always stay above the car. I guess they sort of mitigated a little when they shortened the track on the rig, but he was still flopping around like he was made of soft rubber lol. The gloves also probably did not help his ability to grip the car, but nothing they could do for that and still be safe.
Maybe they didn't do the myth with windows open to not encourage people. Because Jaime clearly would be able to hold onto it. The speed limit would also skew the results making it seem possible though.
Jamie is a strong bull, but that test wasn’t the best. Power with an outstretched arm is much less than with the arm/elbows closer to the center of gravity. His arm was straight but still close to his center of gravity… like lifting your arm straight in front of you. Compare that to lifting your arm out to the side like an airplane… there’s a huge difference.
it's funny how it takes being strapped to a moving car roof and flung around to bring jamie to the energy level of a normal person

Always that one isn’t it 😂

Jamie being able to hold over 300lbs is actually quite impressive, he couldve been a great armwrestler
He mentioned casually he can deadlift 450pounds..... That's not easy either
That sounds like it could be another story about Jamie’s mysterious past.
“Yeah I was actually a professional arm wrestler back when I was 23”
Agreed

@@Sareth94you mean fluffed by the brushes ?😂😂😂😂
At 28:35 I lost it. Why did the narrator say "no no no" like that?
What are you talking about? He didn’t say ‘no no no’
@@Shakes-Off-Fear My mistake, it is actually at 28:35 . I typed it wrong

For the next time I go clinging to a car-roof, I'll definitely choose a car with a roof-rail. (which my car has, so clingers are welcome to try it)

I've never heard Jaime sound like this! It's as if someone else was dubbing him! It's crazy.
The first appearance of the myth cannon. After the accident, I think it was scrap for safety and gain the community trust back
It was this cannon!?
I thought it was a cannon like the replica they had used in the past.
"The Klingon Car" LOL 5:52

Why has no one mentioned the funniest line from the narrator: “is it a bird!? Is it a plane!? No, it’s a leg.”
Fixed the audio? 😅
Only for this episode. The next three have f@#% up audio again 😅
Where in this carwash ist the horizontal rotating brush that goes over the top of the car?
Woo, good audio!~
You know the blast shields are not necessary for a test when the camera men just don't bother hiding behind it. Funny, when you spot it.
Then you have myths where they under calculate it.
Besides, the cameraman is immune, we know that.
"Flossing Robot" hits different in 2024.
I think you can see the muzzle lift when they rip buster’s leg off

THe car wash was hilarious
Well that ball and chain one worked on the Goodies, and that show was totally based in reality.....!?
The Klingon car rig? 😋
Is this the same cannon that shoot into the house later?
woo! stereo! :D
using a cannon to launche the ball chained to the own foot sounds so ridiculously dumb :'D who invented this myth?
Cartoon myth probably?
Bars? Flossible
You could break the windows open 🤷♂️
Might be very hard, car windows are pretty remarkable
@@gredausvemiru6236 AND there's also the risk of at the first 5 seconds he turns and you are off
They are trying hard in this episode to hide Kari’s pregnancy
I think it's more for Kari's privacy than anything. There's nothing wrong with a woman being pregnant.
FLOSSible
