he actually told the story on ''tested''. when he met the person that gave permission for the use of the crash test dummy he actually denied it in Adam's face...
There's a story about an Indonesian septic tank worker, he used a lighter to inspect a septic tank instead of a flashlight. He got blown out mercilessly and injured himself
@17:04 Adams Catsuit has a bad fit. @19:12 Wow cool! I wish i have a shop like this in my near! But i think i have to make my own stuff for cosplays and so.
I heard once in a war memoir during the Second World War, a latrine maker/maintainer hadn't been given the lime powder they usually used to kill the smell, so they poured in diesel fuel instead to kill the smell. Which was a problem when soldiers lit cigarettes when using the latrine and unwittingly just dropped the lit matches in which ignited the fumes, which startled them more than anything, though a few hairs were singed.
I love the earlier episodes but I've come to realize that they disregarded a lot of the human aspect in some of the myths i.e. the human capacity to exaggerate to explain an event they experienced, hopped up on adrenaline or such. The gunpowder may not have actually blown you off a toilet, but anybody would've flung themselves off it and then retell it as being "blown off the toilet"
I'm a little sad they only tried one method of freezing the ice. Maybe freezing it slower and taking it out at the sweet spot would have made it less brittle. At least that's what we do with clear ice cubes but I'm not an expert.
what about the use of pycrete in the ice bullet its just a ice and sawdust mix they were going to use in ww2 it makes the ice bulletproof also just use very fine sawdust due to size of bullet scale the size down for the mix
They revisit this myth in a later episode and with better methodology they reverse the result. It is better to run, but personally, I'd rather get more wet than run in most situations.
They could've made the bullet out of that north pole "ice-cement" (saw dust and ice) also: What kind of shady shit is going on there with keeping a brain and then "losing" it?
they didn't measure rainfall on their heads! Only onto their bodies! pff no good as a test. If they had worn wigs or hats and weighed those after the results would have been reversed
I am curious how the other polymorphs of ice such as ice VII would do if could be made into a bullet by some imaginary agency 🤔 Other than the fact that is would have to somehow stay at the corect pressure and temperature...if it could be done then would it be lethal.
Adam reading the CIA letter: seems that its being used and they cant tell us anything No Adam, its their way of saying "We are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act so we dont have or want to talk to you, piss off!" XD
Lol the magic bullet theory in regards to jfk has nothing to do with magic bullets. It was how investigators claimed that one bullet caused multiple ricochet injuries on multiple people. The magic bullet theory.
"it's tricky to get the ice bullet out of the mold" Lol, water expands when frozen and aluminium contracts. What a surprise that the bullet got jammed in the mold.
No that not the myth- the myth is that if you will run during rain then youll get to your location faster and get wet for less amount of time and this alone makes the myth confirmed.
Buster debut episode, such nostalgia! It’s been so long I forgot that Buster was a senior to the trio.
So we meet buster
Ahhh, busters first day, Hired to sit on the toilet(like some hourly wage employees)... welcome friend!
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I shit on company time!
There's very little in this world, if anything, that's as satisfying as a good, old-fashioned company shit.
Im happy to see how many people still love this show as much as I do
The day they got Buster from a literal secret agent which Adam almost revealed to the whole public when they met on the airplane, lol.
he actually told the story on ''tested''. when he met the person that gave permission for the use of the crash test dummy he actually denied it in Adam's face...

"They have subsequently lost the president's brain." That's the best quote this one.

That small fire explosion may not have blow me off the toilet, But I would sure spring myself off at the speed of light in fear of what happened.
the birth of buster, what a legend
Running in the rain and singing in the rain
The Hyneman wearing his latex suit just reminds me of Ned Flanders.... "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all... Nothing At All... NOTHING IT ALL" 🍑
"in this box right here, is the new star of mythbusters."
@17:04 Adams Catsuit has a bad fit.

Love that luggable PC they are using at 6:57 presumably for the high speed camera, really makes the show look old

I wonder if the methane isn't enough to ignite a latrine
Back to the early 2000 man i miss this early eps
They should've made a pycrete bulet
28:58 what if the wind blows the other way?
Seeing Jamie in a blue shirt is unsettling 😂
11:02 "It went right in, nothing happened" - I guess "that's what she said" jokes weren't as popular back then.

3:03 We ever find out where that helmet is from?

Maybe the "blown across the room" aspect was actually "reacted as any chap would upon finding his wedding tackle aflame".
The very first episode for BUSTER !!!!
Yes, we have all seen the fucking episode
They should have tried a discarding sabot on the ice bullet.
Buster's inaugural episode!
Iconic episode
what about the use of pycrete in the ice bullet its just a ice and sawdust mix they were going to use in ww2 it makes the ice bulletproof also just use very fine sawdust due to size of bullet scale the size down for the mix
a legend is born
They way the fire marshal had the sunglasses over his ears made me uncomfortable
No, don't run in the rain , but put a hat on your head and when the skull doesn't feel the rain, you don't notice it.
They busted the rain myth while actual *meteorologists* told them both the model and their experiment concluded otherwise?
They revisit this myth in a later episode and with better methodology they reverse the result. It is better to run, but personally, I'd rather get more wet than run in most situations.
@@uzetaab Thank you for that insight
@@uzetaab yeah, it's better to get wet than to break a leg from slipping
This one is very very funny.
OMG, so many firsts in this episode
pretty sure this was the first episode i got to see on tv
A person could always use an umbrella when it’s raining outside and the person doesn’t want to get wet. Simple, eh?🇨🇦
Wouldn't you need to smoke the cigarette to get the kind of ember required? If you light it without taking a drag, it's probably not enough.
Is He the first Buster?
They could've made the bullet out of that north pole "ice-cement" (saw dust and ice) also: What kind of shady shit is going on there with keeping a brain and then "losing" it?
damn buster is looking good, too bad it wont last long

They "lost" the brain of the president? Ok.
if i walk very very slow, i will get totaly wet. contra running very fast. i only get wet in the front. i dont need to test , to figure it out

Can anybody read the address on the envelope at 39:23?
Probably the address for M5. It's easy to find on Google, but don't expect a tour from Jamie or anything.
dr bob slay
45:42 is it just me or was Adam a bit of an A hole there?
No that not the myth- the myth is that if you will run during rain then youll get to your location faster and get wet for less amount of time and this alone makes the myth confirmed.
I have a myth for you. how fast can you run with my thumb in your ass
Their tests were using a fixed distance, so they're accounting for the fact that you get to your destination in less time
Thats exactly how they tested it and they got the opposite data.
@@wingerding maybe if its raining so hard that it barely makes any difference what you do + just 2 tests is not enough
