I could cry. This is wonderful. I rowed singles and doubles back in the 80s. I injured my back and had to quit. Biggest heartbreak of my life. It's been so long. It feels like I'm right there rowing again. Thank you!

That was a good looking effort, nice rowing! No panic when you got toward the buoy line, just steadily moved back away from them. This does make me glad I am a masters rower though, only 1k!

After watching a few coxwain POV videos, and this, I wonder how much more fun it is to watch rowing and make it bigger among non-rowers when we see the effort close up and not just from the far off side view. We use to row a fiberglass covered (because of leaks) flat bottom plywood row boat back and forth from the main land to the island 1.5 miles each way just to get fresh water. Then I got my first 3hp motor and we didn't row anymore. The wife the other day told me about this cross fit exercise she was doing and she then showed me how it was done. Sure looked a lot like picking up concrete blocks off the ground and putting it up on scaffolding like I did working summers as a teen. What some look as fun others look as work. I do have a kayak but its only for where my 600hp Nova 19 cant take me.

Great job man! solid strokes all the way to the end. Nice keeping the upper body elevated during the whole piece. Haha I sort of do the same thing as you what I'm about to tell you. The only thing I would recommend to work on is that I noticed that your tap down is a little to early. You need to let your oars come all the way out of the water before feathering them. Thats the only advice I have to offer besides maybe when squaring and feathering your blades instead of using your wrists use more of your fingers so the power/resistance being pulled by your legs and body doesn't get put down on your wrists and makes it up your arms so your upper body can take over. Anyways man good rowing and keep it up!

You can see that the slight hand and finger change to turn the blades up is so minimal that you cant see it. Then it involves some skill to keep blades above water as sculls are brought forward. The most skill is required to turn the blades and insert them into the water without splash. He is elite in skill and stamina. 2000 is a long way to keep high stroke rate without a mistake.

Man you were flying. I'm guessing these high performance skulls aren't cheap. I think I paid $250 for my first used canoe and the guy threw in 3 PFDs, a back rest, and 2 wood paddles. I doubt $250 would get me the seat in this beauty. Great video.

I bought a used fiberglass single and wooden sculls for $450 cash. It cracked in half, after 250 miles. Good enough to learn.
