male lions definitely do hunt and are usually very skilled hunters for the most part. They have to be able to hunt to survive during their nomadic years, however their primary purpose and role once they become dominant over a Pride, is to patrol and defend their borders and to mate.
They are in actuality far better, far superior hunters to female lions. They just go in and snatch an animal that would take 7 lionesses to bring down. Females hunt more often, but lions are better.
Well said for some reason some people like to beat up on them about that, not sure why, maybe they just don’t know that, but we’ll said, also if their on patrol sometimes they’ll hunt something, along with helping with big prey at times
You're absolutely right. There's basically 4 main duties of a male lion in a pride. The King is at times depicted as lazy, however; all lions sleep a lot. He just has a lot to do. They deserve a lot of respect. The fact that we only domesticated the cat roughly 10,000 years ago, and domesticated the dog roughly 30,000 years ago, the dog has had 20,000 years head start to make many more micro changes. cats werent only domesticated in north africa though. European wildcats and asian wildcats were also domesticated. Dogs and wolves share a common ancestor.
All But All Big Cats are Amazingly Beautiful!!! They All have Their own unique Awesomeness!! Especially when They're Baby Cubs! I really don't understand why people fight over who is better... Lions or Tigers? I Love all big Cats!! Lions! Tigers! Cheetahs! Leopards! Pumas! Snow Leopards! Bobcats! And many more! Small or big it doesn't matter! Gotta Love Them! They All are KINGS!!!! 💯
Tiger win evreytime son
Pride vs solitary no chance
Not even… male lion is meant for fighting. That’s what the mane is for. Siberian tiger might be bigger but doesn’t stand a chance vs a lion. Lion grows up learning how to fight vs tiger grows up learning how to hunt.
Sigma Tiger vs Alpha Chad Lion
Sigma tiger vs Alpha lion
Pit bull beats both lmao
Didn't all domestic cats come from the African Wild Cat
That might be true, but none of them came from wolves. 😼
Yes, crossed a bit with the European wildcat and Asian wildcat. Asian wildcats were domesticated separately, but that lineage died off.
Unless you're talking about Bengals or Savannah cats.
All cats are from the" Felidae" family! All cats have a common ancestor too, Joe.
I think what he means is that the domestic cat have different species as the parent species
@@randomlyfactual1943 I'm not totally understanding what you mean here, because as far as I know, all domestic varieties of cats come from a single species of the Felis lineage. Could you elaborate some? I'm trying to understand this. Thanks
@@randomlyfactual1943 They don't though. They all descended from an African wild cat, a small one, that started hanging around human settlements. It's not like the different types of domestic cats have a different ancestor. All domestic cats are actually more similar in appearance to one another than the different varieties of dogs.
@@24flyingcats84 ok....that would still be from a single subspecies (the African wild cat) Although not "Pantherinae" they still came from the "Felinae" species that divided some 10 thousand years ago from a common ancestor. Just because we are dealing with different lineages, however, lets srill be clear here...... all cats share a common ancestor.
The fact that we only domesticated the cat roughly 10,000 years ago, and domesticated the dog roughly 30,000 years ago, the dog has had 20,000 years head start to make many more micro changes. That's not surprising. So Joe was simply stating that we started with the wolf for dogs, and we started with a smaller African wild cat for cats. I get it now.....thanks
cats werent only domesticated in north africa though. European wildcats and asian wildcats were also domesticated. Theres like over half a dozen (probably 9) different wild cats that have been domesticated.
Techinically, we have kept tigers and lions as pets as well for over two thousand years now. Theyre just expensive pets so you gotta be rich to be able to feed em.
„With tigers, the male lions hunt!“ - Joe Socrates Rogen, American-Greek animal philosopher
My chihuawa hearing that all dogs came of wolf:

Every Man come from GOD.
Joe’s wildlife knowledge is scary 😬
*wheezing coughing asthmatic weak weird barking* pug: You know, I was once a wolf?
Me: sure, here’s you allergy pills, you can’t drink water without it cos you know, you’re allergic to water.

“Look at size of that FEMayle!!!”
- Joe Rogan
Booger McFarland got some competition!!
A lion have Petter pose but the slow walk of Tiger is more menacing and majestic.
That's what I think
Male lions do hunt. Not as usual as lionesses. Young rogue lions (without a pride) are forced to fend for themselves until they takeover another pride. Even then male lions are generally needed for taking down bigger preys such as buffaloes.
Male Lions do in fact hunt it’s only if the lionesses need help from them to be able to take down larger prey like giraffe’s and Cape Buffaloes.
The lion is the PIMP...Pimps up, Lionesses down...😂🤣🤣✊🏾🙏🏿🤟🏽
That lion female was huge...she filled the whole phone screen
tigers and lions are a really good example of what evolution does to you when you start to form packs
Male lions are like dads, they can cook but choose not to...
But when they cook, you know its a 'succulent chinese meal'
Me: What?
My Dachshund: I told you, MF!
"Look at the size of fo that female" - I need this clipped
When Joe said "Look at the size of that feeeemaaaaaaale"
I thought of lady d from resident evil ahahhah ykwim
I think an experienced lion can beat a inexperienced/young tiger Sumatran but a Siberian tiger of any experience level undoubtedly overwhelm any lion. Facts
I remember seeing a study tying dogs closer to foxes than wolves
Say that to my pug u were a wolf ( Sticks out the tongue and starts sleeping upside down )
That's why i love dogs and cats ❤❤❤🐈🐕🐯🦁🐺🦊
Nice Wolfs Rain soundtrack
Lol that picture of little wild cats face was the definition of fuck around and find out 😅
Also, Tigers love to swim...
Taco bell Chihuahua came from a wolf 🐺😂
hey Joe I also seen on a discovery that male tigers sometimes push the mom away and they raise the cubs so their next king in line don't get killed by nomad tigers. Some father's in tiger life take care of their own blood line.
My dog didn’t come from a wolf. He most likely came from a sugar factory, because he’s a BIG SWEETIE!
