Due to some questions I have added links to products I use in my description. It has been updated to include my soil mix, planters, pest control, etc. 💚💚💚
I am venturing into the world of Anthuriums for the first time since starting to collect pants & I am so impressed with this video you did. Thank you for taking the time!
I feel so honored! I absolutely love your channel. I am over the moon that you stumbled across my video and are impressed with it! 😱💚✨🙌🏼 Thank you!! Let me know if you have any questions about your anthurium babies 🥰 I can’t wait to see what you get!
Miss G don’t you worry about having poisonous plants with a small child and pets ? I’ve seen a puppy eat an Anthurium andreanum leaf. It was very upsetting.
I’m a botanist and a 15 year cannabis farmer. This is my favorite anthurium care video. Lots of very important information made simple. Keep up this amazing work!
Let me go on record to say. Of all the plant care tip videos on TH-cam. You’ve nailed it in terms offering credible direct information. The plant community has become competitive and narcissistic at best while claiming to be helpful. This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
THIS is the kind of IN DEPTH plant care info tutorial Video I am ALWAYS looking for!!! Tell me EVERY NERDY LITTLE DETAIL!!!! Thank you for all of your research time and compiling it all into this video!!! ! SUBSCRIBED!!!!
Literally THE best anthurium care guide on the internet. I’ve been struggling with my anthuriums for the past year so this video is very much appreciated. Thank you! ❤️
Thanks so much!! I can't wait for more. My climate is subtropical (50-60% humidity indoors) so they grow very well here and I have one - a large superbum w/ leaves that are 16" long. I got it in Sept. and it was so wet, it took 6 weeks for it to dry out! I had moved it into a 10" terracotta to help it dry out (after letting the roots sit out of its nursery pot for a couple of hours). The nursery where I bought it advised me to change its location to give it more light, even morning sun. So I did and it just took off, almost immediately producing a new leaf. But I had not been able to find much info on anthurium care, so I was so happy to see this. If it starts having any issues, I'll know what to look out for - good air flow and keeping it watered!! Thanks again!
You are so lucky to have such an amazing climate! I’m very jealous lol. 6 weeks is insane! Very glad to hear you repotted it. I was the same way when looking for tips so I thought I would finally put my own out there. So glad you found it useful!
This is BY FAR the best anthurium care video I've come across. Thank you SO much for taking the time to really dive into the care for these beautiful plants! I saved this video a while ago because I'm always referring back to it👍❤
This video was everything I've been needing! Thank you! My anthurium has been 😴 every since I moved into my new home almost 2 years ago!😬 I was so surprised to see roots when I repotted It. I finally have new leaves coming in thanks to you! I hope to get my beautiful pink blooms back soon... Thank you! ❤
This video, from an orchid person's point of view, made me realize how easy anthuriums are going to be for me! They're epiphytic, like many orchids, so much like them I simply pot them in bark+sphag and perlite, then I water them once the bark and sphag is looking a little dry.
OMG you just turned into my favorite TH-camr. my ADHD won't let me sit long so l end up not watching. TikTok is great but sometimes l need more answers. the time stamps made it so much easier. ty so much!!
Stambled across your video and watched it from begining to end!!! You are a life saver, you give complicated information in such a simple understandable way!!! The best plant video I have ever watched!! Thank you 🙏
This was like being in botany class. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm a newbie with anthurium. My family did more with philodendron, pothos, wandering jew, and snake plants so I'm a little out of my element with this one.The berry allusion is the one I have and I prefer to just work with only one for now until I can master the care for it. Gideon Ramon (yes he has 2 names 😁) seems to be happy so far. However, I was very concerned about my 1st winter with him because it does like a lot of humidity. I have baseboard heat (so drying 🙄), so the remedy I'm using to keep the humidity level up around him is placing him on a pebble tray with a little water. So far so good.
this is amazing thank you it was really helpful iv had my clarinervium for a few months now and im having a veitchii delivered soon so this is a great help to calm my nerves since my veitchii was a bit pricier than my clarinervium so its nice to have a bit of reassurance on how to care for him even though my clarinervium is doing well i realised in this video his potting mix is probably a bit too heavy for him which would explain his uneven growth.
Veitchiis are very easy to care for I find. Very forgiving. Just make sure you keep them in a good soil mix, but humidity is not much of a problem for these guys in my experience!
Just wanted to let you know this is THE most informational and helpful TH-cam video I’ve ever seen when it comes to plants. Very well structured and answered all my questions!! Thank you!!!
Loved this video - you packed in so much science and fundamental principles alongside your care notes. This really stood out amongst other youtubers' videos. Count me a subscriber!
Love you videos especially on Antheriums very informative! I’ve recently over the last few months dived deep into the antherium world and they are beautiful plants! I can’t wait to see if I’m able to grow mine as gorgeous as you have!
At first, just a little enhancement request: (I am normally not the one complaning over audio) but the noise gets louder and quieter, which is a little bit distracting. But now the much more important: Thank you for putting such a informative video out there!!! I appreciate the work you put in it.
anqilala I appreciate the feedback! I’m always looking to improve my videos and will definitely work on the audio 🤗 Thank you so much for enjoying the content!
This is so well done. Thanks, Ella , for putting all the information into one spot. So helpful. Anthuriums are hard for me so this had lots of great tips
Neat video!!! Ty. I dig the more in depth, sciency info to nerd out to and appreciate how far in detail you go as opposed to other videos that are more generalized and leave room for questions. It's apparent this was in response to the videos you mentioned watching that left room for questions; thanks for clearing up what was once unclear to you before!! Good stuff, this video made me feel like I can do anything great....at least for Anthuriums
You are an anthurium saver!! Thank you for all the useful info on these beautiful plants. I m a proud owner of Anthurium regale, Waroqueanum, Crystallinum, Clarinervium.
Thank you for making this video. It’s what I’ve been looking for. My anthuriums have been a mystery. Now I know why one of them died. Never again. Thank you again! 😻😻😻
I’m newly into anthuriums and I’m so happy to have found your video on TH-cam. It’s comprehensive and clear and I love how you delve into a little plant chemistry for the why’s. Thank you, I’ll be following you for more of the wisdom.
Wow thank you for this, I have anthuriums the more commons ones, and just purchased a magnificum and needed more knowledge which you have provided. This was awesome and comprehensive THANK YOU
I would love to see you do an alocasia care video as well as philodendrons and just every kind of plant there is, you're so knowledgeable and I love the way you get so in depth and explain everything 💖
Thank you thank you for using measuring cups to show your potting mix amount. It’s so hard to find anywhere on the internet. You have a subscriber for life!
I bought my first anthurium (anthurium magnificum today) and I'm so relieved after seeing this. My household humidity is 55-60% usually. I'm super excited to experiment with this genus, thanks for all the tips!
Daisy Salinas I agree! This is my type of video! I’m so happy to have found this video! I love houseplants and want to know all the things about each one of mine. 💚🌱🌵☀️👏🏽
Excellent and informative video. I learned a lot and I really enjoyed your presentation style. One tip for those using terra cotta pots. Just soak it in water when you’re ready to repot. This will loosen the roots from the pot, preventing you from having to break it.
Excellent video and I keep coming back to it for a "refresher". Do you just trim the roots that grow through the pots when uprising? Looking forward to you returning to making videos!
I just wanna say this is my first video of yours to watch and I’m typing this paused at 4:00 ... haven’t even watched it all and I have to tell you, Amazing! thanks for going over all these details about habits, types and classifications. Lots of research you did and time so thanks for doing it! Wish we had more informations videos like this out there.
Wow this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for the details and explanations. And a big plus for the essential oil idea!!! Thank you soooo much! 🥰
I can not thank you enough for this video. I have a clarinervium I got for next to nothing because it was only a browning leaf. I am hoping to bring it back but like you said it is very hard to find information about them out there. I am already buying it the pots you recommend. Again thanks so much!
Kati Z This video comes just in time then! I’m so glad you found it useful! It definitely is hard to find information. I pulled from many resources lol 😂
Wow... I've been doing a lot of research for my antherium andraeanum but you've given direct tips that help the confusion headaches. Love how you explained when to repot. Thank You Soooo much! 🥰😁
Thank you so much for this video! I've got two (regular, store-bought, nothing fancy) anthuriums, but one of them I inherited after my late grandmother, so I really don't want to kill it, and has been looking for anthurium advice. Don't have the time to do the research you did for this, so I'm very grateful! I had been told that they liked getting a little dry between each watering, which worked with my first one (guess it's used to being underwatered), but then I bought one from the store and did the same omg so many dry leaf-edges TToTT! Won't be making that mistake again. I would love to see a repotting video where you repot different kinds of anthuriums? The one from my grandma probably needed repotting a long time ago, but I've been scared to do it, and now the stalks look all gangly and weird. I saw someone cut them off and plant them on it's own, but I don't think they ever did an update on it, and honestly the thought of cutting it scares me haha (I should probably just do it and do it with one of the stalks, but yeah...) Just one thing; the sound of this video is a little weird, fluctuating between muffled and not muffled, which makes it a little hard to listen to.
Regarding audio I will not be using that mic anymore so I apologize about the sound issues. When I repot larger anthuriums the only thing I change is to use larger pieces of bark and hardly any soil. The more air the better. As anthuriums age they will get taller and you can do stem cuttings and propagate them. I will do a propagation video in the spring. Did he put them straight in soil? That is what I would recommend. Just keep them moist and humidity high. Most of the anthuriums we buy are stem cuttings, which is why they come with one leaf and a big chunk of stem lol
@@ThePlantsMeow I'm sorry about the sound issues, unfortunately that sometimes happens but thankfully we can still hear you so it wasn't too bad :) He put it into soil, yes. I will try that then, I'm just scared of it haha Looking forward to your propagation video!
Gah!! TH-cam unsubscribed me!! Love love loved this video lady!! You really did your homework and I'm sure a ton of people will be very thankful for it. I know I am!!
You are funny! Love the misting and ‘spider mite face’ you make 😂. I feel the same way! There is not a lot of information about Antherium so I appreciate this video. I’m also glad I watched it before putting mine into a terra-cotta pot! It is super overgrown and leggy/tall. I plan on dividing it I hope I don’t kill it.
Oh question please! You mentioned putting neem on the soil but not on the plant. Is this because the leaves are sensitive to the neem oil? I hear it is great at pest prevention and treatment.
I love your channel, so glad I found it. I’ve been wanting a more scientific break down in tropical plant care! About to go binge the rest of your videos! 😁
This video has a lot good informations. I also noticed that there are not alot of videos about Anthuriums. Thank you for yours. But I am still interested in one info/thing and that is: Anthirium flowering, esspecially how do you take seeds from spadix and grow a plant from it. There is not alot of articles or videos on google (or at least I did not found them..🤔). If you know anything about it, please make a video or something. 😊 Have a nice day.
Super informative video. Honestly, almost overwhelming for a beginner like me, but essential. I'm sure I'll come back to it over and over. I was gifted this plant about 2 years ago, and it never grew or died. I wondered if it was a fake plant! I wasn't told what it was so, I had to use an identifying app and because of the vertical stem, I figured it was an Anthurium. Since it hasn't grown, I was wondering what type of liquid fertilizer you recommend.
Hello, thanks for the AMAZING and COMPREHENSIVE content! Super impressed! The only needed improvement is the sound quality. Your voice volume comes in and out. I first started watching on my big screen TV then had to switch to my iPad with headphones to hear you clearly. Since the content is so great, I didn’t want to miss a word of it! 😅
Once again I listen to it with earbuds and I I haven't heard anything wrong with the audio keep using your microphone. Maybe just place your microphone closer I didn't even know you were using a mic
Amazing video! Thanks for making it :) I have a question: say I pot my anthurium in a net pot with a chunky/airy soil. But then I put the net pot in a catch pot and it fits perfectly so that there is not much room between the catch pot and the net pot. This will impede airflow, right? Should I always try to place the net pot in a slightly larger catch pot to allow more airflow?
This is some great content! Thank you for making such a thorough care video including the REASONS why these care tips are important! So much helpful info here. Subscribed and looking forward to more!
Ellen 🧐 you might just be my new favorite plant person 💚🤗 heard about you from Becca De La Plants, so glad I found such an informative channel! You’re right, there aren’t a lot of in depth care tips available on here....
I really appreciate how well researched and put together this video is! This is your first video that I’ve seen and I will definitely be following your new uploads!
I wanted to point out about the terracotta pot issue, if you submerge your pot in water, it should loosen the roots and help with pulling it out of your pretty pot. No need to destroy your pot.
Have you tried this specifically with Anthuriums? This was something I specifically spoke to Jay Vannini of Exotica Esoterica about. He mentioned this to be the only way to remove Anthuriums from the pot when it is rootbound. I will have to try that method though if I ever purchase another in terracotta! Thanks for the tip! That would be amazinggg if it works. :)
I mean it's probably not the best method come to think of it if you consider you're forcing to soak your roots through actually. I've probably hurt my clarinervium doing this. Saying, hoyas are usually okay with it. If you ever go on a hoya craze
This is an outstanding video! Very very thorough and informative. You’re a pro! One question I have is; propagation? Can we take cuttings of Anthuriums and root them? It’s scary thinking about chopping these beautiful plants, but I am interested to know about this. Thanks!!
Thank you!! You are too kind! ❤️ You can take stem cuttings of Anthuriums. Especially if they are getting too tall. I will do a video on this in the Spring. 😊
Thank You .....The Plants Meow..!! This is my 1st Antherium with the beautiful ared Spath. Didn't think I had good enough or too much lite. But with my beige sheer I do think he's fine. I am nervous about repotting him today ( he's been with me now for 3 days ) He came from Lowes....Seems very healthy with Big leaves an many Spaths....some green ? Don't know if spent but I think so. Anyway he is in a NO HOLE POT.... I NEVE
Due to some questions I have added links to products I use in my description. It has been updated to include my soil mix, planters, pest control, etc. 💚💚💚
Can you cut a leaf and put it in water? Will it get roots?
I continue too go back an watch your videos over an over. So much great valuable information. Thanks Ela 💚🤗
Please can you activate the subtitles 🙏🏻 I would like a translation😢🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Omg!! Thank you sooooo much!!! So thorough!!! Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEASE do a Philodendron care video?!?! For the love of plants! 😫😫😫
Hahaha! Wasn’t planning on it since there are a few out there but I certainly can 😃🥰
Thanks for enjoying this video so much! 😱
Philodendron are too easy for her smartness
Happy to learn that keeping mine in front of a south facing window was burning the tips, and not a humidity issue!!

Still the best Anthurium care video hands down ! Watched this video so many times 🫰🏼
You are one of the only youtubers that explain things so well. Thank you!
This video, from an orchid person's point of view, made me realize how easy anthuriums are going to be for me! They're epiphytic, like many orchids, so much like them I simply pot them in bark+sphag and perlite, then I water them once the bark and sphag is looking a little dry.

I’m getting my first queen anthurium today and this video was soooo informative! Thank you so very much ❤

Amazing video! Great detailed and helpful information!
The most helpful vid on internet... only one question... what happens if you plant aroide in a realy large pot? Is it a problem?
Very nice you summarised info from the exotic rainforest site well!
Thank you! 🤗
Great video!! I have been searching!!! Finally someone to answer my questions!! Thankyou!!🌞🌞
Thank you!! I’m so glad you found it useful. Let me know if you ever have any questions 💚
Most definitely!!🙏
Suchhh a great video. Thank you. I got an anthurium clarinervium for my birthday and I was looking for care videos, yours is the most informative❤🙏
Congrats on your Clarinervium! They are beautiful! I am glad to help! ❤️
Thank you for this video! 💚 My anthuriums and wanted to expand collection but a bit scared.
I love your channel, so glad I found it. I’ve been wanting a more scientific break down in tropical plant care! About to go binge the rest of your videos! 😁
I’m so glad you did!! Welcome 🥰❤️✨
Thank you!! I plan on making a video on that in the spring! 🤗 as well as propagation 😃
Thanks for this! Didn't have time to watch the whole thing but I learned a lot! Will come back to the video definitely. and following you on IG too!
Thank you. I got a lot of useful information. Go on spreading your knowledge please.
Awesome video. Thank you for giving cup measurements!!! That whole percentage stuff was always driving me crazy.
Yay!! Glad you found the cups useful 👏🏼
Nicely done! Thank you for doing the video. It was very helpful.
This is an amazing video!! Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such valuable information. Have a wonderful day!!!
I'm so grateful for this comprehensive video!
❤️❤️❤️ happy to hear that! ❤️❤️❤️
What is your thoughts about Leca /clay pebbles? You didn’t talk about this in this content 😅 Thank you for making this video. So much information.🥰💕
Amazing content! Love all the science and practical tips :)
Great thank you for letting me know! I’ll definitely stop using that mic 😂 I’m glad you are enjoying it though!
Once again I listen to it with earbuds and I I haven't heard anything wrong with the audio keep using your microphone. Maybe just place your microphone closer I didn't even know you were using a mic
When you got to air and said, "why is it important to you?"! LOL Great Video!
Your video is excellent. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work.
This is some great content! Thank you for making such a thorough care video including the REASONS why these care tips are important! So much helpful info here. Subscribed and looking forward to more!
My gosh, Ella when you did that soil mix in that bowl it just made me want chocolate cake. !!😁😁
Your videos are the best plant videos ever!! I love how comprehensive they are :)
Thank you!! 😱😍❤️✨
Ellen 🧐 you might just be my new favorite plant person 💚🤗 heard about you from Becca De La Plants, so glad I found such an informative channel! You’re right, there aren’t a lot of in depth care tips available on here....

Um YAAAAS girl! We've been waiting for this!!!!!
Hahah!! I know I’ve put it off for so long 😂
The Plant's Meow It’s so great though - the community definitely needed this 👏
Also how is that floor humidifier doing for you? I’m intrigued!
It’s great! I love that I can fill from the top. I don’t like have to remove the whole thing to refill with Levoitt lol
Thank you so much for this video. Exactly what I needed xx
I watched your video for first time today. Fantastic info!! Thank you! I look forward to watching your other videos. 🌱☀️🌵👏🏽
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it that much! 😍
This has been my experience as well. I haven't tried it w/ anthuriums though, just w/ hoyas.
You can take stem cuttings of Anthuriums. Especially if they are getting too tall. I will do a video on this in the Spring. 😊
You such a plant nerd I love your video!
really really love the in depth care video!
I NEVE
