This was great: just came to find out how to splice a loop. Left knowing a few new tricks, especially that “autotune” is embedded into the program… didn’t know that.
You can mute MIDI notes in the Drum Editor. In the Tracks Window, right click on the MIDI track and go to "Open In..." Drum Editor, or hit Shift-D,... or in the Sequence, MIDI or Quickscribe window, right click anywhere in the MIDI track, and go to "Open In..." Drum Editor, or hit Shift-D. You can mute MIDI notes there.
MOTU should be making videos like this more often! Could also take a page from the videos released by Propellerhead, however simple they seem, they're cleanly done, and entertaining. Been trying to love DP since 2004 (DP4) but other software has been getting friendlier, and it feels like MOTU hasn't gone that way. GO THAT WAY!
Hi guys ! just got DP9,5... I reviewed all the videos about time based operations, and looking at the beginning of this video I have to say I've been using this cut 'n nudge technique for years ... (15 years with DP) I must say it's a pain in the a... Why don't we have time stretching (warp) operations that doesn't have to be on grid or tempo relative, I mean free warping to audio like Ableton Live, Protools, Logic Audioetc. does ... Come'on DP is by far the best software in the world but this feature is cruelly missing... I thought with the new time stretching tools we could have something like this : For example if I want to WARP a multiple mic recorded drum part but does'nt want to modify the other audio tracks below and specially doesn't want to move the grid in order for midi tracks to stay where they are. Still Waiting for a simple Warp tool...
+Сергей Хмелевский, you cannot mute single midi notes in DP ala Logic Pro. We users have asked for this feature, but it's a no go. There are workarounds (the long way kind), but it's painful and clunky. I do it all the time, at least for now (not quite fed up yet). Here is one way of doing it: Duplicate the midi track with the same inputs and outputs, Delete all midi notes and drag the notes from the original track to the duplicated one. Make sure, the duplicated midi track is NOT Play enabled.
How to make a sidechain in DP8.07 x64 ? Buil-in Dynamics is not what i want. I wanna Waves C1 or C6. But i can't see the SideChain bus dropdown menu. Maybee it's cause 64-bit mode and plug-ins won't work correct. I'm stuck with it but i wan't back to 32-bit mode of my DP8. Any suggestions?

(retrospective records in Cub,Logic) Haw use morу audio inp/out/ in vienna ensemble pro 5?(now its only 32ch) But midi editing for me is very complex compared to the Cubase. Logic.And not frendly inp/out interface in virtual instruments. Very specific hide track system in DP.I just want to choose the track that I want to hide.
thx ! But Mute tool not active in midi editor (... VEP5 . I know I know how to add midi channels through the INPUT plug. I asked about byhodah VEP5 in the DP are only 32 audio input channel output. It cubase they can expose more.

4 year old comment but you can in DP9 - just go to midi view and use the mute tool over the offending note.

That's a real shame, you have to pass 1000 curves before you can transpose audio in DP! Cubase, Tackion, Reaper just to say a few, just simple!
