03:00 Nailed it - it's not just the grip that leads to wheelies, it's also the weight of the tires, and these are likely much heavier than the stock. I've seen this over and over with tire changes. By the way, Pro-Line is actually much lighter than Duratrax, which I've just had to dump entirely because they are too heavy. 04:00 Nailed it again - with no center diff, it's going to be wheelies all the time. Killer run bro!!! I’ve been pleasantly surprised at what these can handle!! Couple small mods not even upgrades and she’s tough as !!! I’ve broken a front bumper and wing that’s it!👍🏻🤙 I have had to straighten an axle before I replaced the washers behind the wheel pins. Keep up the great vids!!!🤙👍🏻😜

Vas HPI/Maverick has announced new modified lower arms for all the Quantum trucks. The new arms have more material added to the ends where the hinge pin holes go through the arm. They are also using a different composition of plastic which is said to be stronger, cars produced in future will come with the newer arms & spare arms will also be the newer arms. That's not to say there is probably older stock still in circulation at some places still.

Nice video as always, I am honestly surprised you didn't need a bucket to take it home in after those hits. 🤣 About the tires: as much as I love ProLine Badlands, at the cars pricepoint Louise / Duratrax tires may offer the better deal. Yes they Balloon more than the Proline, but they also grip really good and might be in the more realisitic pricepoint for someonr who has this car.

Some tires you should look into that are somehow more bananas than the badlands are the Duratrax Stakkers. They're only in 1/8 MT but the lugs are stupidly huge and tear into whatever surface they ride on
Thanks for the review. I don’t know how it’s not breaking for you. I’ve had nothing but regular breaks in my flux when running 3s specifically 2 parts of the car have issues in my opinion. Wheel axels, even after replacing to the HD I broke another one when cornering on rough ground. The stock lower A arms break at the slightest single wheel front on knock and should be replaced before even driving the car as when it breaks it also bends the shock so that needs to be either bent back or replaced. Funny thing is I bought another one for my young son and have him on running it on 2s. He has broken an A arm but that’s it. I’m thinking this RC is not a high enough spec to run 3s speeds without stressing the components to the point of breaking. Great RC on 2s after replacing the front A arms but not up to the task on 3s What are you’re thoughts on this?

Hi Vas you broke what it appears every one is breaking, I split a lower arm right where the pin goes through after only 5 minutes of run time. Has been out of action for over 3 weeks and parts are still unavailable worldwide which I find disgraceful. I most likely will not buy HPI products again due to no parts backup or service.

After a small crash mine broke a control arm which bent the shock shaft within a week of ownership. Think ive been waiting 5 weeks for parts and still no luck. No one online is listing them in stock either. So at the moment i have a $400 paperweight. Wishing i'd bought something else.
in all fairness, hpi have uprated the parts that are breaking, one guy i see on youtube had them replaced under warranty, although im not sure if they just replaced with original parts. I had a whole set of arms sent to me because one snapped in half.

Nice bash Vas, i to have been using 1000cst in the shocks. I did try some 850cst first then the 1000cst, i think the sweet spot might be 800cst to 900cst.
This is the truck you buy to take out with 6s rigs. When the 6s eventually breaks something you use this guy to expand 3s packs and realize you have more fun with the little backup truck than your main rig lol.
Pretty curious about the 80a version which is supposed to be upgraded with some HD parts and better electronics. A comparison would be nice! Keep up those Ozzy vibes!
Take the wheels off and replace the two washers behind the wheel pins with larger diameter washers. Also treat your plastic with wd40! Much more flex!!!! Mine’s been great after those fixes! Only a broken front bumper and wing but it was freezing that day
How the heck are you not breaking arms. Mine broke on the first jump 3ft high and we landed it. I've gone through so many sets of arms and shocks in the first two weeks.
@@AussieRCPlaygroundafter doing a full tear down on mine. Mine was caused by a loose servo screw I think. I think it was allowing the tires soo much quick movement on impact which carried the momentum.

me too, had issues with the diffs too :) ive replaced the driveshafts and axles for the hd ones, put the washers behind the hexs, im gonna get the new hd arms, oh yh and the wing, its the mount that broke... im just gonna do without it because i know it wont last, when i do have to replace the body ill get the mt one. it seems their are some bad ones out their :(

Did you change the esc or fan? Online manual says fan won't take 3S voltage, although I hope that's not true! I'm running mine on 2S but would like to give it a go on 3S .
I ran mine on 3S and never did anything about the fan. And it still works, so I'm guessing the manual might be wrong on that one. Or it could just be outdated if HPI/Maverick have upgraded the fan to take 3S without any problems. 🙂

Hi guys, great video as always. Just bought some Metsafil lower arms, has anybody else bought any? I was wondering what you're thoughts on them were. My first impressions arent good as they weigh an absolute tonne and are extra weak right where the pin goes in, Well made bombroof part but very expensive, heavy and I think will break in exactly the same way as normal stock arms, time will tell lets see.
@@JamesKeyYear7 Hi mate, I haven't got round to fitting them as yet, so can't tell you sorry, they certainly look sturdy and strong that's for sure, quite heavy, just that one hole where the screw to hold the pins goes in looks a little delicate.

Yeah, the tyres are expensive, but whether you buy them for this truck or a Granite, it's all the same. Just because the price of the truck is less than a Granite why should anyone deprive themselves of quality tyres? It's not like there's some unwritten rule when we're not allowed to spend more than 20% of what the RC is worth on tyres or something... Haha. Wait, is there such a rule? LOL

We've had constant supply of parts here, so not to much to complain about with HPI or Maverick, they seem to be getting better as time goes on.

My sons went off a gutter and they were bent af!
We upgraded to the HD versions

If 1000 cst is still too thick oil what do you recommend? Also, what cst for diff oil?
i put oil in the diffs and its leaked out, the seal went really soft, and out of shape, same thing happened with a new one... didnt like the oil.

ive always run mine on 3s, and never touched the fan, its still working fine, i notice their was two esc's listed, so maybe thats been updated...
