  • ABC soup is as easy as ABC to make. It's nourishing, uses very simple ingredients, and just so tasty!
    Great for a cold day or when you feel like something healthy and comforting.
    My Cantonese mother used to make this a lot when we were kids, but it's also popular with other Chinese dialect groups too. You can even find this in some hawker stalls that specialise in soups.

    That looks SO so good! I showed it to my mum too, she really liked it. And the colours in this soup are just stunning! And the music gave it a very nice relaxed feel...lovely!

    This reminds me of frugal Irish stew. Only sweetcorns are not our native foods, but we eat imported ones. Our traditional Irish stew consists of meat cuts, carrots, onions, potatoes and stock. Optionally, you can add other vegetables of choice like celeries, cauliflowers, peas, etc.

      Once I tried irish stew at my office party,it had chicken,potatoes and carrots.
      it had a very subtle taste (non of my colleagues liked that mild flavour) so i had to add salt n pepper to it,, I love irish stew because i am bored of eating our spicey indian curries.so these days i prefer subtle flavours.

      nishant ojha, over 30 years ago, Ireland was a very poor country with high rates of unemployment and so Irish didn't have great variety of foods in stores. Irish poors didn't own many pots and didn't have many utensils. They did most cooking in a one or two pots. Irish stew was the cheapest dish for poors and rich alike and we cook it almost every week. The dish is somewhat similar to gumbo that southern black Americans eat. Our traditional cooking lacks spices and doesn't use as many ingredients as in Indian cooking. Irish cooking is frugal and easy on your money, ideal for students on shoestring budget.
      Over 30 years ago, we ate mostly home grown vegetables and packed goods from here and UK. We didn't have exotic fruits/vegetables like mango, kiwi, aubergine, etc. In old days, traditional stews were cooked over the stoves fuelled by turf that were dug up from the ground. My late grandmother used to cook all her foods over the stove.
      Today, we Irish are sampling Indian foods in restaurant. We Irish are very big on Indian and Chinese takeaways and we can't get enough of them. I buy naan and curry sauce. I have that for TV snack.

    Btw, better to do cutting with the part of the blade nearer to the handle, less strength needed.

    it looks like a crossover between european stew and asian soup.a full course meal,we got chicken for protein and potatoes with corn for carbohydrate.i think it could be a good meal for bodybuilders too as they avoid extra carbs and fat in their diet and go for lean protein.

      Uggh, ignore encorebloodbath and that rude, unnecessary comment. This soup can be cooked without the chicken and is pretty yummy with just the vegetables. I used to go to school with a vegetarian girl and we made this a lot as we were broke college kids and a pot of soup could last the whole day. Its not exactly authentic but we liked mixing it up with seaweed or whatever other vegetables we could get for cheap.

    • @AndrewSimEncikburger
      @AndrewSimEncikburger 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, it is a rather simple soup. You might want to try adding Radish (Daikon). It is another boost of flavour. It not only imparts flavour to the soup, but it will absorb the flavours of the soup as well. However, it might have a slight bitter-taste. But then again, we can't get enough of vegetables, especially for Vegans and Vegetarians.
      A lot of soups taste awesome, without the need to add in any meat proteins. Just throw in sturdy root vegetables (Lotus roots is one hell of an awesome example), aromatics (Onion, Garlic etc), and let it slow cook or in this case, boil.
      You can also be adventurous and throw in fruits as well. Who knows? You might create something from nothing.
      All the best.

    • @AndrewSimEncikburger
      @AndrewSimEncikburger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I am not wrong, the LPG tank you're using, can definitely provide enough gas for that duration, unless it is running out. The final simmering is for 2.5 hours to 3 hours on low heat. Go for the lowest setting in your burner. I am pretty sure that it will turn out well for you. Ingat po.
