James: "I'm more of a man than Orla"
Orla: "I do not accept that!"
My favorite Orla line ever!!!
I can practically b the Orla of my family and friends 😂
@@lizsugrue5806 6
@@ASTPlumbing9090 Orla is amazing with her "Sister, Michael! I don't a have a Protestant!" while wearing almost a standard IRA paramilitary uniform! ))))))))
Step aerobics got me,,, 😳😳😳🤪🤪😂😂🤣🤣
My favourite moment of all: when Erin realizes, Orla's reading from the diary again and just goes ape shit...
Blaulichtmilieu same
I can't remember how many times have I seen, but it still makes me laugh. The insane look in her eyes and the mad mad voice... so glad that I've found them.
4:45 😂😂😂😂
Erin's eyes through that scene ...
That was the scene that made me watch the show
"James, I ran out of green, so I had to colour yer eyes in red."
"My eyes are blue."
"Now ye tell me..."
She ran out of brown and his eyes are green
She coloured them red because she ran out of brown but they are actually green.
and she seemed so distressed after the fact 😭😭😭
My favorite line of hers is “it’s worse than slave labor we’re not even gettin paid”
That's kinda the definition of slavry...
@@-jank-willson except she doesn't know that.
Technically slavery isn't a lack of payment, but rather a lack of consent. Paying a slave doesn't unmake them a slave. It is the lack of free will that makes a slave.
@@Robertz1986 Yeah 'cause many slaves in America still got paid (very little) and were able to save it up over their lifetime to buy their own freedom...
"Orla's easily led,"
"thanks Aunt Mary "
LMAO!
Only Orla would take that as a compliment.
Orla is a wonderful character. She's like the secret star of the group. Also, it's impressive how Louisa Harland managed to change her voice for the character. In reality, she has a much deeper voice that sounds nothing like Orla. How the hell can a show have so much talent?
You're right. She's such a dick!
That’s like the opposite of Stephanie Beatriz cause she had to play Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn nine nine who’s voice is a lot deeper than hers
You can kind of tell the voice isn't natural. It's like she really tries to higher the pitch. Northerners do have higher pitches voices. Regardless, she is a great actress.
@@jamiemohan2049 In some scenes, you can hear her actual voice for a brief moment. Nevertheless, I totally thought that she would have at least a girlish voice. But when I heard how she actually sounds like, I was simply blown away and fell in love. No matter if real or not, the higher voice works for Orla and adds a certain quirkiness to her.
@@niavheffernan1661 I was thinking of that
"Orla, that better not be what I think it is, you better not have brought my diary to school!"
"I had to I'm writing a book report on it!" XD
I am gonna shove that so far up your arse LOL!!!
Janet Marie *ram
That was one of the funniest bits of dialogue I’ve ever heard
Kathleen McHugh when she refuses to give it up and says “Nooo” in that strained voice 😂
What I love the most about Orla is when she is just in the background. Her facial expressions at what everyone else says is priceless. Can't wait for season 2.
Yeah, even when the camera is out of focus but she's still in the frame you can vaguely see her still making facial expressions and they're hilarious.
Cant wait for season 3 now
She's always waving "hello" to someone afar.
@@emptee6581 and eating something ahaha ! They all are such well written characters, it is such brilliant show ! One of the fews that make me snort and cry from laughter
@@lululesbasbleus lol yeah. I was surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it. I recommended it to my mum and dad and now they're into, probably more than me.
the weeer wooden woman inside the wee wooden woman
Lol.....shes THE BEST
@JIMMY CROWLEY you're a bit creepy
@JIMMY CROWLEY because you're changing the concept from the TH-cam video to how the girl looks
@JIMMY CROWLEY ah yes the famous ferry girls related quote "you are a very hot girl"
@JIMMY CROWLEY a call it Derry
The actors for Orla and Sarah were so well cast, they really nail the mother daughter resemblance
We don't see much at all of Michelle and Claire's parents but the bits we do see, you can totally see how the kids have inherited parts of their parents personalities. Subtle but brilliant writing and casting :)
Same goes for Mary and Erin.
Does anyone else think that Orla is rlly gorgeous like I think she’s one of the prettiest of them
Siofra McKenzie omg yess why is nobody else talking about that!
Her n Michelle r stunners
If you look up the actual actor, she's stunning! By far the most attractive
Yep
She's also a tall girl, I like her hair
she is and in real life is more😂
That moment when I thought Orla was just narrating the story but she's actually reading from Erin's diary 😄
That was a great piece of directing....AND writing.
@@BDUBZ49AND acting when the reveal comes.
Then season 2 Erin is on Wogan and Orla goes in and closes the door inside the bathroom ;)
There's just something about her that makes me think of Luna Lovegood.
FollowTheWizard coz she's special 😂
FollowTheWizard ikr just the way she acts and she’s very gentle and delicate
FollowTheWizard THATS WHO I WAS THINKING OF
exactly.
MAYBE BECAUSE SHE’S IRISH YOU FUCKING DUNCE
That aerobics routine is what true friendship looks like ❤️
Nah, true friendship would be telling yer mate she's gonna look ridiculous long before she does. Like when ya see someone dressed all fucked up and ya say "jaysus, they must've no friends".
@@capnskiddies They didn't know she was going to do the talent show. So again, this is what true friendship is.
Yeah, even Sister Michael was moved by it
@@capnskiddies Orla would have done it even if they had told her.
plus, true friendship is supporting what your friends love doing
My favorite Orla moment is when she’s explaining why she asked Grandpa Joe to the prom
ooh same here! that was very sweet indeed
The conviction with which she says "Protestants hate ABBA" just gets me.
Hahahahaha sammmee !! 😆😆😆
It’s kind of funny to me because for both Catholics and Protestants the name Abba is what we call God when we accept Christ as Lord and Savior 😂
"I know what I saw"
That line was perfectly delivered
What timestamp? 👀 edit: just found it! 1:33
@@dontletdonghaedrive 1:35
She's fantastic. The actress does a great job of sounding detached from reality.
'Sure, what's a pair of knickers between cousins?'
Orla is so adorable 😍😍
Eric Blair don’t say knickers in front of your father!
300th like
@@JulieWallis1963 He can't cope!
Best character by far. They picked the best name for her😂😂
Órfhlaith
Tis no fucking 'Gerry' though, Gerry Adams is a Irish treasure ye hear me! He be a saint amongst men! But no, Orla is a fine name, bless ye soul
gabriel sheehan something tells me you didnt grow up during the troubles
Ahh thank you!!!!
I agree!
The moment Orla said she was doing her book report on Erin’s diary, i thought, “yep, I will watch every episode”
Gotta love Orla
How did "I don't smoke either, I just like meltin stuff" not make it tho
That coffee that is literally one of my favorite lines from her
I feel this in my bones.
In all honesty, the best of Orla would easily be over an hour.
i seriously thought the girl who plays orla and the woman who plays her mother were related irl, they look so alike lol
Right? Very good casting.
Aunt Sarah's Mini Me
Same 😂😂😂😂
She Kinda looks like James to
Same with Erin and Mary
Aunt Sarah is so underrated, she’s so funny and pure and such a good character
I love her and she's great with Orla...
🥰
Looking forward to her being cast as The Doctor in about 15 years, she'll be amazing.
15 years? She's in her mid 20s they could just about cast her as the next doctor.
She'd be perfect for the role.
*NO*
No more female doctors. The current one didn’t work and I love Jodie Whittaker. Just no on that one.
cwazy345 I like to think so lol
I DO NOT ACCEPT THAT😂😭😂
Mark Corrigan MARK PFFF
Erin saying “what are you on about Orla?!” Is possibly the best delivery of a line in the series
I 100000% agree
Idk sister Michael's "you terrify me" was pretty beautiful
Saiorse is definitely underrated
c0ronariu5 honestly
i thought i was the only one who noticed how different it sounds, it’s so good😍
“The Very Best of Orla” is basically every scene she’s in 😂😂😂 love it
My favourite is
Sarah: “go on orla love say something to katya”
Orla: “your name sounds a bit like cat”
Sarah: “god aye so it does” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love this one too😂 cracks me up everytime!
Love Orla, especially her hilarious facial expressions and one liners!😂
“This requires some muscles , you should take that orla”😭😂😂
"...I am after all child of the crossfire, ...but I chose to rise above it...
...the way to peace is paved with tolerance and understanding. Violence is never the answer!”
“I…. I’m gone ram that soooo far up….”
PETER: “You know what’s next? A visit to the big man!”
ORLA: “Pavarotti!”
Her delivery there gets me every time 😂
I absolutely LOVE Orla!
But they missed the best scene. When they open the trunk and there's a Provo in there, Orla says, "Did you not put him in there, Aunt Mary?"
She also waves and smiles while he's closing the trunk again.
For me, 4:23 is the best when Erin discovers Orlas statement is coming from her diary. Excellent writing and acting.
4:51
Orla and her step aerobics 😂
I laughed so hard when Orla said "Help! There's a kidnapper on fire."
Orla's literally Aunt Sarah's mini me, the cast of choice was amazing! their both hilarious! Orla makes me laugh without even having to say a line! Their all good actors in this.
I enjoy how she turned the dead nun's head when Sister Michael entered the room.
That was a greyhound orla
I know what I saw😂😂
That one was great!!!!!
"Unless , you know, he's gone to hell"
*Points finger upwards
Olga is the best character to keep an eye on whenever she's in shot.
She's always pulling brilliant faces, when she's not in the centre of the frame. So funny.
Its Orla it's an Irish name
@@TheAaronChand yh no shit, it was a typo
The step aerobics scene interspersed with the clips of the bomb honestly brings a tear to my eye everytime.
Love orla, the dumb voice and the random things she says= my favourite character
MATTY GUPSTA I'm not 100% sure if the accent is a little modified. being from northern ireland, it seems like a bit of a over characterization.
@nriab23 there are people in derry that truly speak like her character
It's a genuine accent trust me
I always tried to be the Orla in the group. But then my friends thought I was dumb. I mean, they were right but it still hurt, you know?
Her timing & delivery is impeccable. Disappointed as it seems she doesn’t have as much screen time this season, though her and Granda going to and at the 50’s dance was brilliant!
i just love how both james and Michelle feel like how they are forced to join in the dance at the end, true loyalty
If you just watch what Orla is doing in the background when Louisa Harland doesn’t have any lines, it’s like a whole different show.
Ye shouldnt swear michelle cuz when you swear our lady in heaven cries her tears and that makes rain

I agree, Orla is my favourite character!
I love hiw Orla didnt notuce she was being laughed at, she was so into step. She'll go far in life -- and she WILL be well liked!

Her voice change when she snaps at James about the dish washed mug . . . Had me in stitches . . .
This show and all its characters potrayed will go down as gems. . . .
Orla McCool with her one liner deliveries are spot on 👌🏻 . . . .
Orla grooving to that acapella group! 😂
While the actor now owns the character of Orla which she does so well, I really do sometime ponder on the sanity of the writer who thought it all up. Mad genius.
That's awesome.
The very gradual change in Erin's facial expression as she realises Orla is reading her diary.
- We're basically celebrities now, we're like The Corrs!
- Can I be Jim?
I love this line so much 😂😍
That last clip is why Derry Girls is so bloody good. 😃 Step aerobics to Madonna in a school assembly? Mint.
...and what a wholesome affair it turns out to be...
I edited this so the reply’s don’t make sense
Joe Daly Her voice is craic.
🙌🙌
TES! and her timing is spot on. cracks me up every time she speaks.
And her real voice is so different! She created this voice entirely it's amazing
You have no idea 😍😍😍
Orla’s friendship with James is one of my favorites. At the end of season 2, when he decides to stay in Derry, it’s Orla that goes up and jumps on him in this bear hug
I love it when they are talking about the polar bear, and Orla's like "I'll kill it with my own two hands if I have to!! " lmao

Nicola (Clare) is from Galway.
Orla reading Erin's diary: "Violence is never the answer"
Erin: "I'm going to ram that so up your..."

I can never think of anyone who can play Orla. *Their casting is impeccable.*
When i first watched Derry Girls, I had no idea what they were saying without subs. After my 100th rewatch, I can not only understand them but sometimes read things in my head in an Irish accent
Orla's voice and Erin's facial expressions are what make this craicer
Orla is truly a love letter to nonconformity and embracing your own quirkiness. Love her.
I felt robbed during Orla's step routine in the US version since they swapped the music. Madonna fits so much better
Netflix being really weird there - not just in the US either.
Why the fuck is there a US version
