    It's gonna take at least a hundred years for the world to catch up to the extraordinary brilliance that Gord and The HIP brought to artistry and music. They truly were ahead by a century. What a divine blessing these guys were.

      This video has only 450,000 views it’s going to take the world a lot longer than that at this rate. But you are right Gord was extraordinary, I’m so glad I got to see him a few times. Best I ever seen.

      @Vortigan07 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's taken me way too long but I'm happy that I've caught up now. They had zero exposure in The UK back in "my day", our Canadian import was Bryan Adams. So yeah, I'm way too late to the party, but the more I look, the more solid gold I find, so I'll be sticking around now.

      Yup it will take about a century, but the rest of the world will catch up eventually. Gord in particular is like the Van Gogh of 90s Rock.

    I named my daughter Cordelia because I love this song so much

      Gord is referencing King Lear's daughter Cordelia. If you don't know that Shakespearean play, check it out.

      I do think it's one of The Hip's very best tunes. Top 3 and maybe #1. The problem is that there's a lot of competition... I particularly love So Hard Done By, Flamenco, It's a Good Life If You Don't Weaken, and so many others.

    had the pleasure of seeing them play this live several times. I am sure I passed 2nd year calculus at university because of this song, it keep me alive during those long nights of studying. It kept me watching hockey in a cold arena. It made me feel alive. Well, that's the Hip. "takes all your power, but you don't care, I'm not Cordelia, I will not be there". It doesn't get better. Listen to 700 foot ceiling if you are a canuck or want to understand one.

    This is brilliant! So old school...I love Johnny's pony-tail...Paul has got the bad ass cigarette hanging from his mouth...and Gord Sinclar's mullet. I gotta say...Downie really had an amazing vibrato to his voice back then..truely epic!

    Breaks my heart that Gord is gone. The Hip was a major part of my life from teenage years until now. There is love for them in Akron, N.Y.
    Just watched the Canadian figure skating pair at the Olympics skating to "Long Time Running" and got that nostalgic and wistful feeling. Also, someone must he peeling onions close by because my eyes are sweating.

"treading the boards, screaming out MacBeth, just to see how much bad luck you really get"....if only they had kept this raw power all along, still love 'em but you do wish they'd release another Road Apples eh?

I remember after Hothouse Flowers left the stage it was about 4-430PM? You would have remembered me in Markham Fairgrounds though....I was with 4 guys building a beer cup pyramid out of empty cups and the cops came and pushed them over just as we put up the last cup of about 100? The WHOLE beer tent went nust and yelled BS! LMAO
