Man,there ain't gonna be anyone who can remotely comes close to filling Gords shoes or the whole band for that matter. Genius, poet, musician and totally Canadian. Love their music which will always stand the test of time. RIP Mr. Downie. We will always remember you.
Cole Warren , would be interesting to see what martin teilli would do with them ,( rheostatics) . Wouldnt be the same band but would be nice to see the other members press on into other areas .. just a thought
Damn. I really don't know how or why these freakin guys CUT me like they do. Right through so much shit, right? So moving. So goddamn authentic. And insightful and compassionate. The lyrics, the music - huge lifetime fan right here! #tragicallyalways
I feel exactly the same SankeyMagic...nice to have family within The Hip---their fame is soooo unique and we are privileged that they got our ear to hear xxx
Every greatest moment of my life had Gordie and the boys playing in the background. For that I can't thank the hip enough you made my life much better having gotten to listen and have privilege of watching you live half dozen times RIP Gordie!
Canadian Rock Icons each and every one. Fabulous and engaging at every performance that I went to. 6 shows in all. 2 Roadside Attraction tours were phenomenal. RIP Gordo.
I really wish TH-cam would stop tanking the quality of these old videos… they have such a great opportunity preserve history and they just let it degrade away…
Brilliant angst song and one of my favourite of all time especially when it was used in the film I love a man in uniform also one of my favourite films of all time
I was at the opening date for the Fully Completely tour. I was a fan., but only just. After seeing them live, I was certain they were one of my favorite bands. They were great live. Anyone who saw the final show, and JUST the final show wouldn't really get how good they were. Gord was but a shade of himself (understandably). I saw the opening show on the Day For Night tour too. They sure loved kicking them off in Moncton lol.
I was turned off by their early radio hits and the way canadian radio beat those songs into the ground , but they evolved and grew into a band that was so unique and brilliant . Truly a 1 off band and he shall be misses
Frances Makela Yes. His sister - in this case - would be Quebec. And they're in separate rooms (divide between Anglo and French Canadians), but have the same roots. But he's tired of this feud. Thus taking off his boots.
Gord said one time there was a song on the album that was about Quebec , but heard it was” locked in the trunk of a car “ and it was about Quebec politics in the 70’s
untrue hypothesis based on some dudes opinion on the website 'Song Meanings'. the author of the comment referred to a supposed interiview of Gord regarding the album 'Fully Completely' mentioning that there is a song about Quebec on the album. That song is clearly 'Looking for a Place to Happen' which is about Cartier's exploration, and arrival in what is now known as Quebec, Canada. upon incorrectly assuming that 'Pigeon Camera' was the song referring to quebec the author came up with a bunch of non-sensical bias confirming tripe.
I really can't get enough of this song right now. It's such an obscure feeling that comes over me as I'm listening, and watching...
It's a fun ride...isn't t?! Can't explain it either. I am on this fun ride now.
I agree. I find Pigeon Camera very haunting.

Well said Cole
Those guitars hit you like a stream of clarity for once in your life
Goodbye Gord..you are now our pigeon camera. Fly on brother.
Since their last concert I've done nothing but research. It has rekindled my "fanatic" from the 90's that disappeared along the way. It's back now.
xxPowerdogxx same here.
The best Tragically Hip song of all time.
How ironic, that you can do that very easily now with the size of camera.
Indeed
Not in 93'
Damn. I really don't know how or why these freakin guys CUT me like they do. Right through so much shit, right? So moving. So goddamn authentic. And insightful and compassionate. The lyrics, the music - huge lifetime fan right here! #tragicallyalways

Most underrated Hip song, in my opinion.

the truth behind this song… Gord had no fucks to give! He was so so tired of the politics. He was one of a kind

Gord said one time there was a song on the album that was about Quebec , but heard it was” locked in the trunk of a car “ and it was about Quebec politics in the 70’s
Written about the Quebec separatist movement

The GREAT White North!
Gord was the Andy Kaufman of music.
