My all-time favourite travel necessity would definitely be my neck pillow for the flight :)
After going on numerous backpacking trips, my one travel essential is a good pair of walking shoes. With good walking shoes, you can walk longer distances and explore more places without getting cranky and annoyed. There are many other items that can be easily replaced when travelling, but some are not that easy to find, thus are essentials! :)

I definitely don't think I can survive going to Mongolia because of the experiences. And yes, wet wipes are a must when it comes to traveling.
My travel essential is overseas sim card for data !!!! It allows me to search for directions, keep in contact with family and friends, and basically google my way through my trip!
