I was surprised to see the Mother Long Legs chasing her prey bc I thought they were just ambush predators. At the same time the Mother Longs Legs did straight up attack people in the comics.
She wasn't gonna let that meal slide she was probably hungry anyway

Plot armor...
Two things I noticed about this clip:
1. Goodman's character seemingly lost and regained quite a bit of weight while on Skull Island, if this clip is anything to go by.
2. ALL those fish were VERY dead by the time they got out of the net.
The fishes may have been poisoned with hazardous waste...
That's because he's had a lot of delicates. Tons of skullcrawler brains, Kong's left testicle. A very skully cuisine this dood has been.
@@fikarrusdiawan9562 Yeah, but in that case they wouldn't be fishing there. Commercial fishing only cares about live catches, because dead fish are going to be ruined before you could ever return to port and offload.
Really love the way that japanese fisherman reverently removes and cherishes that random piece of trash from the haul.
Makes me wonder if he does that every time there's garbage and that's why he was getting yelled at lol.
Since this is a series, watch there be a whole episode delving into this guys back story. An old metal detectorist hands down his metal detector to his son, who then goes on to be a hoarder who gathers old junk. The captain (as you mentioned) is always yelling at him for gathering junk in his cabin and wasting time during work hours. He then says that this is the last straw and asks, "What the hell is this anyway!?", opens it and discovers that what this guy has found will change the world in some capacity... He looks up and the guy smiles, knowing that he has fulfilled his father's archaeological legacy.
We then don't see him again till the final episode where he passes the package to a group of people he only just met (the main characters) and is promptly and instantly killed by something massive either eating, stomping or falling on him... 😅

When you realize the crab technically won spiders don't really do to well underwater.
Spiders can actually stay underwater for longer periods if time.

Trust me I've been keeping arachnids and crustaceans as pets along with other exotics for 15 years, I've done a lot of research...
They’re SCREWED in the ocean. The waters of Skull Island are chock full of creatures that can and will tear them apart. The Mantleclaw has a better chance of surviving than the Mother Longlegs but not too much
I mean the Mantleclaw is built for both land and underwater while the Motherlong Leg is a land-based creature
I think The Mantleclaw can still Camouflage underwater like some real life crab

if you look closely Mantleclaw WAS on the water before the fight with the spider. so he know the water was ok for it

More to their physical build and how they were fighting. The spider’s long legs kept it out of reach of the crab’s claws. The spider was also aiming for the face of the crab, which was vulnerable. However, aiming for the crab’s face made the spider’s legs vulnerable.

That's Skull Island for you. There aren't really any prey animals on it just mostly predators and scavengers which results in constant survival of the fittest. Creatures of the island almost always have to fight their food for it to be food. Mortal Kombat 24-7 when comes to Skull Islands habitat.

Really makes Randa look like a colossal Prick. He didn't just suspect giant monsters existed- he KNEW. He saw them up close and despite being very aware of their danger, let the US Military Team go in basically blind (Skull Island).
To be fair on him, >EVERY< other place on earth that has a Titan at it normally houses either one or a small colony. I don't think anyone was prepared for Skull Island and telling the military anything more may of just ended with them nuking it.
@@TehSovereign Exactly yeah, I don't consider it a major retcon to the point it clashes, just a different understanding of what he meant. Skull Island was completely unique to what he has seen before in the context everything there ranges from particularly large animal dwarfing most others (like with the recent sneak peak animal I won't spoil) to kaiju.
In Skull Island, he disclosed that he knew, as well as explaining that no one believed in him. Explaining that the geology lie was a cover-up to prove what he knew about Godzilla and implying about others. Telling the military wouldn't have allowed them to prepare, it would have just made him look like a nut case and lose his shot at getting the truth out in his way.

Tbh the Mantleclaw is stronger than the Mother Long Legs due to its stronger/bulkier build. I got to give the Mother Long Legs some credit bc despite her skinny legs she was really strong physically. One of her legs still got cut by the Mantleclaw, so it would only be a matter of time before the Mother Long Legs would lose.
it’s likely a case of concealed strength. The mother long legs managed to pin down the crabs claw which is an incredible feat considering its small frame. Perhaps the small limbs hold extremely dense muscles under???

Nah the Mantleclaw has only very minor resemblance to Ebirah. The same can be said of the Mother longlegs and its resemblance to Kumonga.
Motherlonglegs doesn't look close to Kumunga to me because Kumunga doesn't look like a daddylonglegs he looks like a cross between a jumping spider and a funnel web spider.

How was that even a fight? The crab should have had that in the bag fairly easily.
I mean, you try dealing with a spider your size, its not exactly going to be easy fighting something that has more available offense limbs, which are also extremely sharp in comparison to claws. It also got a decent hit in with one of its big legs into the crabs mouth which certainly did some damage. however the crab dragged it into the water, so I doubt the spider won in the end.
Also, Keratin and Chitin are both armors. For crabs and spiders they both have external armors, so trying to pierce them regardless will be a challenge while they both try not to get hurt as much or badly.

How does one island manage to feed so many Kaijus?
Well they are not Kaijus, Kong is the only Kaiju on Skull island while the others are more like Super Species or Sub Kaijus. Skullcrawler are also not a Kaiju Species and are more Sub Kaijus, the Kraken in the Skull Island TV Series is a Kaiju but wasnt born on Skull Island but rather came from the Hollow Earth when Skull Island came to the surfice and the Camazotz did also came from the Hollow Earth when Monarch tried to find the Hollow Earth Portal under the Island

@@JDALOY878 Less 'salty' and more 'confused'. When you take a step back, the Longlegs is absolutely TINY compared to the Crab yet it's shown shoving it around with ease. Like is that spider comprised mostly of lead? Or is that crab like 50 percent air-pockets or something? It just looks pretty comical watching something that big getting shoved around so much by something so much smaller.

Something I want to point out from the fight. The way the Mantelclaw and Mother Longlegs fell into the sea made think of Godzilla and Kong falling into the sea. I wonder if this was a homage to that scene.
