The entire show is so well done and the tie in between Kong skull island and the characters is so satisfying, I actually feel sad for bill randa knowing her never got to see keiko again and died what he wanted to prove to the world was true. Gives the character, at least in my eyes, so much more depth and emotion than I would’ve assumed the first time watching it. Respect to the writers of this show bc it’s genuinely the best one I’ve watched in a while
I think this extremely innovative and well thought out. Probably saving the interest of the monsters in America as the generations of new viewers latch onto so many other options this series may completely reinvigorate the genre.
I'll recommend this viewing order: Kong: Skull Island Skull Island (s1) Godzilla Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (s1) Godzilla: King of the Monsters Godzilla vs. Kong
Of course Cate is mad that her Dad had a secret family but I also think she's pissed at him more than Kentaro cuz she sorta blames him for her trauma of losing those kids on the bridge. Her finding out he was secretly involved in Monarch etc. she blames him cuz she feels maybe she could have prevented that loss if she knew about Godzilla.
I for one is very happy for this series and love it! I love the timeline cuz it goes more in depth what happens before 2014 as well as after. Also happy how successful the series has become and people like it. IDK why but I see haters trying to degrade the show and IDK what those people's problem is. Maybe they are disappointed cuz all they want to see is titans fighting but c'mon. Be realistic. Play a video game if thats what you looking for. I'm here for storyline.
well episode 1-2-3 was good but now titans screen time has been cut short! irrelevant love triangle betwen randals and May ! to much screen time for them
I was pretty disappointed to find out the dad really was a piece of shiit for having 2 families. Like they didnt really properly dive deep into his character and kentaro niether. The character may was like the least interesting character plot wise yet there is an episode dedicated to her. There was so much time invested into setting up the 2 siblings and the father, so it just fell flat in the end cuz there was barely any character development. There was alot of setup but no payoff for each character except for maybe may. I just think this season was pretty meh after all the hype. Godzilla was barely in it as well or did much when he appears. Last episode, godzila fight with a muto was so anticlimactic
I am loving Monarch. My only issue is that I’m tired of movies of shows making the bitchy character so unrealistic. There’s a way to make them bitchy and reasonable as well. No one would be like, oh ur my bro? Ok I’m out. Without questions. Or let their anger linger to the point where smart decisions in saving ur life becomes null. Most would be upset and still move on being reasonable and then have a break down bc they held it in.
One problem with the timelin is Godzilla's dorsal plates, in clips from the show that take place in modern day, he still has his spike dorsal plates, wgich makes no sense as in Godzilla Aftershock (which takes place in late 2014) they were shattered, and there is no mention in the show of the MUTO Prime too.
I have a theory they changed it from 2014 to 2015. Cuz in ep6, When Godzilla rose from the sand, he had his KOTM dorsal plates. So in the 3 episodes Godzilla was absent in, the evens of Aftershock were happening off screen. They honestly should’ve just hinted at this via a news broadcast or something.
As a halo fan, let me just tell you that filmed-media always takes priority over pages in a book 1% of fans read. I don’t like that, but it is the way it is when coming to filmed-media canon
The bombing of bikini atoll is horrible. I don't know why they would make the narrative like that. Guess the people in power will always get their way.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters had so much potential, but falls so flat that it puts the flat-earther's theory of the earth being flat to shame. We don't care about the characters really, we simply just want to see and learn more about the monsters and titans. If you're going to add more focus on the characters, at least give them justice by giving them interesting dialogue. And if you're trying to make the argument that this show is about the Monarch organization, then I fail to see the need for these side characters and not the core members from Monarch going on to find and document the monsters. Literally Cate Randa's, Kentaro's, and May's characters can be removed and the story would've been better off, we don't need this massively annoying, always pissy character who's upset at everyone and everything (Cate Randa), we don't need a hypocritical naive boy who had a promising career but threw it away disappointing all, and a super hacker girl who can somehow hack secret files like it's a normal task. I don't have a problem with any of their acting, but the problem comes from the absolutely poor writing, possibly written by some intern for all I know (because of the writer's strike and they probably needed something to be released), because there is no way that the dialogues between the characters be drier than the Sahara desert and nonsensical in the context of the show/story. The prime example of this poor writing comes during episode 3, near the beginning, when they are on the boat, and the character Kentaro caught May talking to someone on the phone, and then seeing May throw the phone into the ocean. And do you know what Kentaro says after seeing this? This guy proceeds to tell May something along the lines of "it's bad to throw plastic into the ocean, contributing to pollution". I wish I was kidding, but upon hearing this couple minutes of dialogue, I full on gave up hope on this show being any good. There is no way in heck that the directors just made the viewers waste their time and braincells listening to throwing trash in the ocean and pollution in a show about monsters and titans. I'm not denouncing the severity and importance of pollution and how it damages our environment, but come on, there's a much better place to post stuff like this and this show is definitely not one of those. And what's even worse is, couple minutes later, Kentaro, who was opposed to trash being thrown in the ocean, was told by Lee Shaw to throw the important documents that they made the effort to transport with them, into the freaking ocean. I guess it really wasn't his choice to throw the files into the ocean as he was told by Lee Shaw to do it, but dam, this guy be fuming. Could've burned it, ground it up, destroyed it, but they decide to toss it back into the ocean for whoever next to find it... Stupid dialogues like this where the characters are bored out of their minds with nothing to do and actors being told to act out these lines make me realize how poor the quality of writing for shows and movies be going down, as in plummeting down faster than a meteor. If I were to have written the story for the episodes, I would've made a focus on establishing the core characters of Monarch, who founded it and the people running it. Then, I would perhaps dedicate each episode to them discovering and uncovering every current known titan out there (that was showcased in Godzilla King of Monsters). We've got King Ghidorah, Rodan, Godzilla, Mothra, Kong, Methuselah, MUTO, Scylla, Behemoth, Baragon, and others that were not showcased in the film. I don't think they documented every titan in one year, but perhaps each episode can be a little time skip from when they discovered each titan. The episode could show humans first encounter, then fights between that titan with others (Godzilla fighting the newly found titan), them failing to capture it with conventional weaponry, and so on. I would much rather see this than some random characters talking about pollution, getting unnecessarily, overly angry with each other, and doing nothing of substance. Long story short/TLDR: Came here for monsters, got absolutely poor writing and boring dialogues that make even corpses in graves cringe and writhe in pain from the dead. 20% of the show maybe shown some new and interesting monsters, the rest is a hell of a train wreck snooze fest. Honestly, the background, exploration, and interactions from Lee Shaw, Keiko, and William Randa from back then when they were going exploring was quite interesting, just this present day 2015 dialogue between the characters and so called "bad guys" from Monarch is laughable and not worth watching. I feel so bad for the actors who had to act out their trashy lines, and hope things will get interesting with more monsters and titans being shown (I don't have high hopes though...) 4 or 5/10 show, would've been higher for more monsters and titans being shown and documented, even lower rating if the show continues this path of showing more boring character interactions (as of episode 4 on December 1, 2023). Sorry for the long post, please let me know your thoughts below if ya agree or not and what you'd like to see more of or improved. Thanks.
I just don't get it how lee shaw is still alive??? I mean if the reason being he jumped in hollow Earth along with Keiko so does that mean she is alive??
