Manchester area code starting with 061 - that takes me back a bit! Must had been 1995 or 1996 when area codes added a "1" so that 061 became 0161 etc. Loved all of the spots / "zits" adverts too... so many of them back then :-)
Also a lot of the late 70s , 80s and early 90s adverts seem very over sexualized , im no prude im just pointing out the differences to how things are now lol
Whole time your a kid and teenager you just want to grow up now you are all you want is to be a kid again,my mum always told me when being a adult isn't half as good as your childhood never believed her lol, anyone got time machine only need it once go back to 1987 and stay there.
You are not getting old, even 4 years later :-). I turn 50 this year and even I am not old yet. You will be 31 this year I think. That is so young! If we are lucky, we will be elders one day. It's not happened yet. :-)
Hmm I remember the ad for Cathay Pacific and as and 11 or 12 year old it was one that I liked. By September of that my parents and I had moved to Malta due to my dad's job. Meanwhile My elder brother who is five years older than me and was then 17 and a half remained In Cambridgeshire.
6:23 - 'The mildest winter on record.' And the summers of 89 and 90 were so sunny that they had to change the Pimm's ad (showing girl drinking Pimm's under sunlamp while it's raining outside) from 'Perfect for the British summer' to 'Perfect for the British weather.'
Good collection of adverts. Looks like Caroline Quentin in the BT advert. Interesting that the 'British Telecom' logo was used here. It was changed to 'BT' in 1991. Like the Cathay Pacific one. Sun Alliance is known now as the RSA Group. Retro Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes advert there. One of the early Scottish Amicable adverts. Great Maltesers one there and certainly very retro. Classic Clearasil advert. I think this is 1989 because of the movie 'Sea Of Love and probably the Carlsberg one.
Some fair points, however Sea of Love did not actually see a UK theatrical release until the 16th February 1990 as confirmed if you check the Total Film website.
Thank goodness PG Tips stopped using chimps. It felt wrong then and it looks wrong now. The pork advert wouldn't wash today either. It's so cruel! Strange, ignorant times we were in then. I wonder what we do today that will look amiss in the future. I was 19 in 1990.
There's one or two ads i would like to see it was a toyota ad with the moby tune go in it and the steller atuior ad i know can't spell it but it was a kind of wired ad but good tho tho
anyone have any idea what advert im thinking of? be a 90's advert featuring a load of people swimming out to sea..i swear to a brightly coloured float out at sea. prob a comms or mobile phone company

I was 8 years old back in 1990. God I miss those days. Seems so long ago
I miss the 1990s.
Only thing know bout 1990 it penywise the dancing 🤡
Remember all of these very well! Great memories of being an early teenager.
Great to see these again, most of which I remember as if it was yesterday! Sad that a lot of the brands and companies have changed or disappeared.
24 years ago these adverts yet I can still remember most and it doesn't seem 24 years ago.
+Dan Ratcliffe The human life span is woefully short
Ah, the magic of advertising. Findus Minced Beef Crispy Pancakes NEVER looked like that in real life.
this makes me feel sad because im thinking about how old im getting :(
Oh you are only as old as you feel! X don't think thst

Adverts were very short then, and not half as annoying.
Absolutely with today's ads you can make a film out of them
Maybe not but they advertised everything that was bad for you , including addictive medication and alcohol on a constant basis
Also a lot of the late 70s , 80s and early 90s adverts seem very over sexualized , im no prude im just pointing out the differences to how things are now lol
My god...I was 12 in 1990...gettin old folks :o( x
Omg
Even older 4 years later 😂
The voiceovers on these adverts seem so oldschool now.

haha! They used to put the Jif Lemon ad on every pancake day!
Omg I love that one
Miss them days! Good old 90's 😭
This makes me feel sad since I was born in 1990. Getting old is total fucking balls.
+aaron291SDL True. It was good before but not so good now.

I remember we all thought that we were into modern and futuristic times when 1990 hit... lol
Has anyone been interrupted by ads whilst watching these ads?
Thx for the upload - remembered so many of these. awesome xx.
Two opposing views at the Mail? I don't think so

I could write an essay on that Daily Mail advert.
Show just how far education standards have fallen.
How though?
And then there's the Mail on Sunday ad (Julie Burchill vs John Junor).

Pacino: Sea of Love. What a great movie!
I recognise the voice of Ten Cents from Tugs in the first one.
1990 I was 3
4:31 It's the vicar from Keeping Up Appearances! 😄
That intercity ad ran for years.
Half of these are actually 80's adverts!
Yes they are
Well it was 1990 so probably are. A lot of adverts run for a few years.
That BT Ad was definitely from the 80's (late 80's) as by 1990 they'd changed their logo to that funny 'trumpet man' symbol.

Awesome ads
The 90s was the Chocolate age.
Loove that I do
Since when?
When the ads were great unlike the ones of today
I am still addicted to boost bars.
Me too
Lol at all the banking ads.
What have learned from this?
The 2008 crash and following depression show all these ads were a lie.
Lol at your name
The girl from the Maltesers ad married some guy from east Enders I seem to remember…
I remember some of these 😂
The 1990s really were pants -
I want it all.
Yes queen good song that
2:33 What Advert Is This
Thanks for that.
I didn’t know Mrs bucket’s vicar used that washing powder lol
I knew he looked familiar.
Some fair points, however Sea of Love did not actually see a UK theatrical release until the 16th February 1990 as confirmed if you check the Total Film website.
