      Hey I want to know something . I've recently bought coconut sugar from a thai brand called "Agrilife". They claim that it's 100% organic. But the colour of the sugar is slightly white like off light . It's not brownish . Would u tell me if they processed and made it white or if it's ok to eat . Anyone plz help 🥺☹️

      @@mitsu-san1054 so I researched what you bought and what you purchased is a granulated sweetener from the nectar of the coconut flower that is why it is light in color. It is not the same as coconut sugar as coconut sugar is derived from the bud and stem of the coconut flower giving it its healthy properties and caramel color. I am sure what you bought is fine to eat though they are not the same thing and don’t have the same benefits.hope this helps 👍🏻

    Great information , is there any machine available to extract coconut sugar

    • @deborahthatsme
      @deborahthatsme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the machines that are available are industrial and not home kitchen grade or size...coconut sugar is made by cutting the flower of the coconut palm and the liquid sap is collected into containers.
      The sap is then placed under heat until most of the water has evaporated leaving you with coconut sugar. If I ever hear or see of a machine that will do this at home I will let ya know here. hope this info helps!

    I don't think it has enough vitamins, minerals and electrolytes to make a difference, but the lower GI alone and the distinct taste definently makes it worth it if you can afford it.

      @@mitsu-san1054 Well, the one that i buy is a lot more expensive than regular sugar and it's quite a strong brown. So i assume that one (yours) has an even lower concentration of well anything else than sucrose, so all the good stuff. The one that i have says it's unrefined. So in conclusion, yes, it's most likely a more refined coconut sugar.

    Do you think it’s as healthy as monk fruit and stevia? Thanks!

    • @deborahthatsme
      @deborahthatsme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well monk fruit and stevia are zero calorie sweeteners...so not really comparable as coconut sugar still does have calories, with that being said it is the healthiest "Caloried" sugar choice and does have a lower glycemic index! Also be careful with stevia as many companies bleach and chemically alter it so its not the healthiest choice imo. Hope this helps!

    • @miabeia3117

      @@deborahthatsme yes I know.. I’m really not that crazy about liquid stevia because of the after taste. I do use the powered monk fruit..

      I am so sorry for the delay I really throught I had already answered this question! Agrilife brand is coconut flower sugar and made from a the nectar of the coconut flower where as the coconut sugar I use and that is considered healthier as it’s unrefined and natural is from the coconut sap which gives it its brown color and caramel butterscotch undertones of flavour. Hope this helps.

    Coconut sugar tastes awesome.and I hate stevia

    • @deborahthatsme
      @deborahthatsme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I too am not on the stevia band wagon though as a zero calorie sweetener it is an healthier option especially for those with diabetes! For me though I prefer swerve aka erythritol when choosing a zero calorie sugar replacement to bake with or use-like anything though everything in moderation! I am glad 🙂 you like coconut sugar too! ❤️
