      Another good video.
      Bobby Please be aware that the two sugar substitutes that you recommend do have erythritol in them. As you know they are a sugar alcohol and can cause GI issues with some people.
      Do you recommend or know any pure monk fruit brands that have no other ingredients?
      Once again you're doing a great job!

      Thanks for a great video. Just pointing out that your favorite monk fruit sweeteners are mostly erythritol. I recommend liquid stevia and monk fruit sweeteners for Keto friendly. Alot of baking recepies do well with erythritol. Also xylitol is toxic to dogs, so watch out for that. If Fido grabs a cookie that was made with Xylitol it could be very harmful. Thanks again. Love the channel.

    I have just watched from a serious source a documentary about the "Stevia Scam" in all sweeteners world wide. They claim made from Stevia, but the stevia content is ridiculous low. Most content are made of fillers than are not so healthy. That is the high potency of stevia as a sweetener. The issue here are the fillers the industry use to pack the stevia. I am wondering if it's not the same situation with Monk sweetener. Coconut and Date sweeteners seems to be best choice. Thanks Mr. Parrish

    A few things at Costo - Week of June 20 . Kirkland, the Costco brand, has a 95% grass-fed butter from New Zealand, two pounds for $9.99. Your beloved Peptides are on sale for $23.99. Also, comparing various bone broth, Kirkland has 192 oz.( 12 pounds ) of organic chicken broth for $16.99, colored with turmeric and full of organic vegetables and herbs, way less than anyone else's. Also, chicken bone broth is higher in some amino acids than beef broth, including potassium, and the lesser amount of collagen is negligible - 1g less for 8oz. of broth. And, finally, I'd like to let you know that the New Orleans, La, Costco carries the 100% grass-fed beef patties in the freezer, for $19.99, just under $4.00 a pound. Thanks, Bobby. I'm learning a lot ! I hope this helps someone...

    I do a lot of diabetes education and have been researching a lot on Keto specifically on sweeteners. I didn’t hear Allulose mentioned. Allulose is a naturally occurring sugar found in fruits like figs, etc. The structure of Allulose resembles fructose but due to some slight differences Allulose is not utilized by the body and mostly excreted by the kidneys. It has no impact on blood sugars and some early studies have even shown a positive effect on blood glucose levels. Allulose has shown no impact on the gut biome unlike some other sweeteners so little if any negative GI effects. It’s not as sweet as sugar but it’s taste is pretty good no bitter aftertaste and definitely on the pleasant side;. It’s worth looking into.

    COOL, so many sweeteners out there and many thanks Bobby for pointing out the dos and don'ts on what to buy and not to buy but.....there is one sweetener you didn't mention, or is it because its not that popular and the sweetener is Sorghum. A friend in rural North Carolina loves the stuff and is the only sweetener he uses, not sure if he got it from some Amish folks or some rural coop.

    very good video Bobby. Best advice, drink your coffee and tea without any sweetener. I stopped putting sugar in my coffee many, many years ago, don't miss it. Steer clear or limit anything with sugar in it. You won't get rid of it completely as there are lots of hidden sugar in day to day products.

  • @beebeemere
    @beebeemere 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Correct me please. I thought you said, on another video, that 1 gram sugar = 1 tsp sugar. That's not accurate. My conversion table says 1 gram sugar = .17 tsp. sugar. So, if coffee creme has 5 grams sugar, that equals .85 tsp. sugar, a little less than 1 tsp. Thanks.

    Ive recently come across Allulose in some videos. Would like to hear more on this. Originally the hierarchy of healthy alternatives was Stevia and Monkfruit at the top followed closely by Erythritol which is my personal favorite because its not bitter. However Allulose seems to be even better. Anyone have any input?

    • @zippitydoodah5693
      @zippitydoodah5693 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My wife has perfected a mixture of allulose and monk fruit. It's tricky to get the mix right, but she's nailed it. She even makes an icing for her lemon pound cake that is made with 100% allulose and 100% fresh squeezed meyer lemon juice. She makes one for family gatherings for me ( gluten free ) and it is gone inside of 10 minutes. Everyone loves it. She does a mix because the bulk of the allulose makes it a perfect substitute for baking, but it is only about 70% as sweet as sugar. The monk fruit bumps the sweetness. And you only need a teeny tiny bit of monk fruit because it is 150 to 200 times sweeter than sugar. The combination is the perfect replacement for sugar in baking.

    Erythritol all the way for me👍🏻I like the flavor and it doesn’t spike my blood sugar like other substitutes. There’s even a “brown sugar” erythritol that tastes great as well. It’s never caused me or my husband any digestion issues like the other sugar alcohols. Monkfruit and stevia would be a great choice if they weren’t so bitter.
    Edit: wrote my comment before I saw that you showed the Sukrin Gold. Seriously that stuff is worth the high price👍🏻

    I also appreciate you mentioning the glycemic index on some items because of type two diabetes. Mostly we try to eat local I Seemic index and avoid sugar wherever possible and so this helps us to know what we can and cannot eat on our food plan. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

      Im so glad that there are finally so many healthier alternatives to the junk they've been selling us for years now, but I agree that it's gotten really out of hand. Best to grown & raise as much of your own food as possible & then when deciding what you need to supplement it, always ask yourself 2 questions: 1)"Did this exist as a food item in Biblical times" & 2)"If not, do I really need need it for convenience sake?"

    • @jesusnegra123
      @jesusnegra123 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pure is the best in any case in my opinion but I'm no expert. It's just more authentic (and expensive) than the bulk artificial ones. But it is usually used in small portions whichever way you go, so I feel like if you do bulk baking, using artificial might be more cost effective. But if you bake every now and then, pure vanilla would be a safe bet

    I get this Stevia and Erythritol blend from Walmart called "Pyure" it comes in a purple and white bag and its organic. I tried monk fruit but to me it has like this terrible aftertaste and has the aroma of motor oil for some reason. It was that red bag one. Ill try it again but its crazy expensive.
    Besides the cooling effect the erythritol its still decent with a blend and still doesnt affect your blood sugar or cause any GI issues, correct?

    • @christopher01221
      @christopher01221 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a sugar alcohol so yes it can cause some GI issues I also use Pyure and I buy the Great Value stevia packets those are also a stevia and erythritol blend. I prefer the taste of the blends. I can't do just stevia or erythritol by themselves

    OK dear Bobbi! I have watched several of your videos now about sweetener and ingredients in various products and you still have not covered acesulfame potassium. In my opinion, it’s worse if that’s possible, than aspartame. They both can cause a host of health problems and I avoid these in all artificial sweeteners and a few others like the proverbial plague, along with corn syrup. So glad to know that aggravate is made with fructose. I did not know that you did not understand how I could be reacting to something a lot of people tout as wonderful. Thank you for the information. As always you are on it and I appreciate you.

    My throat felt like it was swelling inside after having monk fruit/erythritol blend. I googled how it’s made and it’s got 3 things I don’t do well with. I copied and pasted off the page … “In large-scale production, erythritol is created when a type of yeast ferments glucose from corn or wheat starch. The final product looks like powdery white crystals.”
