I used to work IT support for the NHS, back when that was a thing. Our "manager" was some clueless hoax who had read "Management for Dummies" and got her 13 year old nephew to show her basic Excel.... this show nailed exactly why so many government projects fail... It didn't matter what the problem was, she wanted it fixed "NOW!" and had no clue what the problem was or how to fix it. She just wanted a tick in her little spreadsheet. In the end we actually made dozens of tiny problems we could fix with a click so her reports looked good. She was still crap at her job, but she got promoted by another bean counter and one of us people who actually understood IT got to replace her. Then we could play Command and Conquer Red Alert at work, it was great....
Was this before or after a lack of windows patches left a bunch of NHS trusts vulnerable to wannacry? 😂 I was working for a remote radiology supplier at the time. I still remember wondering wtf was going on, logging into a bunch of different hospital servers and seeing the wannacry ransom message appearing on all of them. (Edit: I guess the c&c reference dates it sufficiently - wannacry was probs way after your time I suppose.)
@Strictly Pom I always come back to The IT Show. Love these three ... and yet, never quite relax into "hilarious". Roy's intense attraction to women, but with all his awkwardness and social fails. I love the ordered nature of Moss's brain - his commentary and quirks are often the laughs for me. Plus the awful-surreal nature of working for that company, just keeps me on edge.
I remember when this was being announced on channel 4 & i thought ah that looks like a good show to get into. I cant believe that was 2006. Its now 2023 & i watched the first episode yesterday (28th Jan) & couldn't stop. Its now 3 minutes to midnight 29th Jan & I'm on the final episode. Its been great. Just what i needed.
I agree, but this comedy is 'of it's time'. This is not the 2000's anymore. IT Teams do still exist...but are usually off-site or ran by large software and cooperate entities who specalise in this kind of thing.
The photos in the epilog were a good touch. But, of course, one has to wonder, if it was just the boys and their guests at the fair, who took all the pictures?
Dutch prostitute carnival escort fees are much closer to the rate of inflation these days, thanks in large part to new EU service industry regulations. Which is nice.

I think I've heard of a phenomenon before where people get promoted up until they can do no harm

@@tomlxyz oh yes we call them presidents or representatives... 😉
"Working in here is like smoking pot. The harder you suck, the higher you get". That was on my screen saver when working in a computer centre
@@tomlxyz I have family who work in the NHS and can confirm that you are absolutely right.
"I'm just working on a very simple piece of programming code" (followed by white noise)! Brilliant 👏
This was to me the finest comedy of its time.
I learned about it because our English teacher showed us a few episodes
@@tomlxyz Really, do you work in a fish and chip shop now?
@@wayneurquhart7192??!!
This show was absolutely hilarious

I love it when a plan comes together.
The funniest show EVER on TV. Bring back the IT Crowd!

"Chairman Wow!"
I'm going to use that.
The A-Team theme on a British show. Love it. (Well, I loved the show too).
"What would I say? I'd say doubling a negative will just make the situation worse"
I'm permitted to watch thru all seasons on DVD twice per year. It gives me something to look forward to. 🤗❤️😘
haha and it does stand up to repeated viewing. never fails to get a laugh
Ah, “social piranhas”. We’re going to come back to that.
Don't be a 'damp squid'
close to 20 years old already dang
I either watched this way too young or I'm very old now.

What a stunner!!!
ooooohh, thaaaat stooory 🤣😂
Ain’t Katherine (Jen) absolutely gorgeous ??? OK, she is to me and that’s all that matters 🧌
Strangely, only in this show.
I agree
And for me.. My perfect woman
she is
I loved her in HUMANS, but I agree, this is the show she’s a hottie on
Using The A Team's theme for the montage as a wink to Top Gear was genius.
This and Father Ted. Greatest ever
Oh jaysus hey coco hey Timmy I went to cert with you in Limerick. Denzell says heyyyy
Who was the actor who beat Roy with her show?😂
Jen was great.
I only watch this for one reason and that is..... Jen
Totally agree 🌟🌟
Jen
Serves him right for being called Roy
And actually.. what was wrong with the prostitutes??
Well, this couldn't possibly apply to me as I was the victim (though that will change shortly).
Wtf? What season was this supposed to be from? I don’t remember this
episode one innit

You put together words like a word salad.
With grammar dressing and punctuation croutons?
extra croutons :)
Paying for services that go unredemmed, is just a bad business practice. They're giving capitalism a bad name.
