the fact that the pistols were walther ppks which is what bond uses (most of the time) was a nice detail, they could have easily just got a generic pistol, but nice to see they went the extra step

Seriously, I can't believe I didn't get this before. I've seen this ages ago and thought it was a funny sketch about two gay guys being concerned for their weird-named friend and her sort of abusive boyfriend. Today I saw it again and Christ! How can I not have noticed before that it was about freaking James Bond! There friend is called bloody Moneypenny!
@garethac81 exactly why I do indeed not sit around with my friends after the cinema or television and pointlessly give something from my mind that we've all just seen. Maybe, a really funny line might come up. ONCE. Rather, we'll talk about WHY it was funny, or how what happened in the film can relate to our lives in some way. I've got a brain outside of my short term memory, and I'm quite sure nobody really gives a shit what went on in it, especially if you've just had to witness it.
"What does he think this is? 1973?" happening as Webb puts in the paper umbrellas is a lovely detail.
Parasols surely?

Darren's an acquaintance at best.
David Mitchell trying to be gay is actually slightly less gay that he is normally.
Slightly less gay than a guy with a hot wife?

Is there a sketch where David Mitchell plays a gay person? If so, what's it called? I'd quite like to see that.

Darren: "I've pierced my spine on a spiiiike"
AHA
Darren let's put you in the recovery position.
As we all know, Alan Partridge is the perfect narrator of Bond films
DAN!
You know what you are... You are a big posh sod with plums in your mouth!
I love that even the gay guys they're playing call James Bond's cigarette case gay (which it is).
They're gay? I just assumed Mitchell's character was a woman.
I never thought they were gay. I just thought they were middle-class.
They're not mutually exclusive.
Dan judging by when this was made, it's likely implied that they were gay. But you're right in that it doesn't really matter for the joke.
Because we're all so much more enlightened since 2008.
I love that they can't remember his name. Especially how he repeats it twice to everyone meets 🤣
Bond. John Bond.
Spying 101: Tell everyone your name right off the bat to ensure you will be remembered.

I like the idea that, at some point, Scooby Doo and James Bond have been at the same party hosted by these guys.

"Literally did not know where to look"
“What a penis!” The best line ever. I’ve actually used that to describe someone.

I love how they've tried to camp up David Mitchell
This has a touch of the “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” about it. And Ophelia Pussy would have been a great Bond girl.
david really nailed his alan carr impression.
This is a great idea for some sketches. The Scooby-Doo one is hilarious as well.
“I just LITERALLY did not know where to look!”
Bit cheeky but you know! Love the way he says that! one of their funniest skecthes!
Poor Moneypenny. Did you know John-- sorry, James once spent an entire party speaking in a Scottish accent? I didn't find it funny in the least.
quizzlie. Brilliant sketch.
Took his jacket off, bloody shoulder holster. What a wanker!
🤣👍👏🔥
Worst of all was Moneypenny invited John-James to brunch and he wore that frilly ruffle shirt and pretended to be Australian for some reason.
Victoria Coren on Room 101 putting James Bond in there adds to this sketch!
I am embarrassed that it took me that long to realise who it’s about
Same wasn't till I saw the guns
Scooby-Doo 😌
My absolute favorite sketch from these guys.
Love to see those two bonding like that.

yeah i loved that one too,had tears in my eyes :)
british humour at its best. you can tell by the way you can't help but smirk right as the video stops.
Did they ever make more than two of these? Those sketches are funny as hell.
There was at least one on the radio version about Jeeves and Wooster.
