Honestly...I actually kinda get why Lloyd would be upset. He has, for the most part, accepted that his father Garmadon, the Sensei Garmadon, is dead. That all there is now is an Oni abomination in a twisted shell of his father's evil form. That all that there is is Season 8 and 9 Garmadon, and that the Oni March alliance was just one out of necessity, not love. He's accepted that Garmadon can never be good, and that he cannot reach him, so logically, no one can. Yet here he is. Lord Garmadon, tyrant, conqueror and Oni, wearing a bathrobe, back to two arms, dancing around and even taking up his good self's former oath of non-violence. Heck, he even makes Dad jokes at times...and what's the reason? Not his son and all their memories and history. Not his wife, or his brother, whom he spent decades with. No, it's a non-living potted plant and a guy he met by accident in a ship cabin once. Those two get closer and more personal to his dad, and change him more than he ever had since his father was resurrected.
Lets be honest, after he planted Christofern on that hill and went to help lloyd and the others rebuild the monestary, there should have been like a golden glow which returned him go his human form, because he figured out how to care properly again it would be so fitting if he became pure good again
Ok I have two things to say that I noticed and am pretty sure others did too 1: garmadon thinks it’s easier to care for that plant because his relationship with Lloyd is messed up and honestly it’s understandable 2: Lloyd doesn’t care that garmadon doesn’t care about anything he cares that he doesn’t care about him

When you kind of think about it. Garmadon's interest of caring was because of Lloyd. I mean he started to question things when Lloyd said "There's more to life, than surviving". He then ask vinny since, he's the only one there who tolerates him and his question. Vinny then is the one who teach him how to care. All of his hardwork in finding himself was all for Lloyd. Too bad it wasn't much explained in the series but only in the comics.
It sort of shows that despite The Sons of Garmadon intending to only bring back Garmadon's evil half it was sort of a failure as eventually the goodness slowly began to seep back into him.
I'll tell you why I agree with you why because at the beginning it was said that only the dark side of Garmadon returned and not the light but as we saw in Season 16 Episode 20 Garmadon has really evolved but in a good way.

Garmadon becoming good was interesting. When he was brought back from the departed realm Harumi only brought back the evil side of him. During the final battle against the oni Garmadon didn't want to aid in the tornado of creation but he did and after that he left. He didn't try to conquer and destroy Ninjago again. He was evil and had all the evil emotions hate, anger, and rage but he wondered if he had the potential for good emotions like empathy, love, and happiness so he did some thinking and gave good a try

It's more that his good side is slowly coming out, I really don't liek Lloyd being so hard on Garmadon, I get that he wasn't always there for Lloyd, but he made up for it a little bit after he turned good after the first defeat of the Overlord, since then he's been a good man, in fact he and Lloyd would have lived fine if Chen hadn't shown up and with the Cultists as snakes seeming unstoppable, Garmadon being the one who cursed the Anacondrai Generals had no choice but to take their place, then it was Harumi using the Oni Masks that brought Garmadon back but evil, I guess all that happened was that his evil side was never truly gone, but merely suppressed. now returned it was LORD Garmadon in control, he also seemed to have amnesia, but his encounters with Lloyd in Hunted and March Of The Oni slowly changed him, as well as whatever happened in the Garmadon comic, then he started caring for that plant Kristofern in his apartment and slowly growing more attached to it, I guess by caring for the plant and not destroying slowly softened him, to the point that when Lloyd finds him in Crystalized he's not so destructive, even sparing that Vengstone warrior. Until the plant is hurt and he turns Oni and starts wrecking shit.

Lloyd was right keep in mind that this version of garmadon is not the OG garmadon, garmadon is still in the departed realm or whatever, this version of him that was called out was only the evil. meaning basically only what fuels the overlord: no love, no compassion, no care, no memories, no nothing. so by those facts i dont feel like lloyd was being unreasonable by definition garmadon shouldnt have been able to care but he did, all the evil in him was from the oni and the evil of the overlord but uniquely enough im pretty sure its the evil from the oni which made him capable of caring.
