You are stack in an old thinking that , govt alone should be responsible for creating job opportunities across. Remember, the people appointed and recruited to work Team Oil Refinery are all Ghanaians. The question is why govt own enterprises across the country are inefficient and and corrupted? This is because, the old guards aren't ready, or unwilling to introduce freshness into the operations. The Board of Directors, the CEO of the Refinery, including the whole management team have bizarrely failed the nation for doing poorly to revive TOR. Our free market and liberalised economy is perfectly designed to allow private capital to operate freely in the country. The inflow of capital from overseas investors into the country are crucial and critical to alleviate the chronic unemployment problem amongst the youth across the country. Regardless of who investment in the country, Ghanafuo ought to change their attitude to work, whether it is govt work, or private employment. Ghanaians employees often don't show up to work, or being late to work, and expecting to be paid. really!

Those foreign companies repatriate profits even though they pay takes to the Sates in which they operate, l would rather see a Ghanaian build and own that Refinery. Ghanaians should learn to own major "means" of productions as its increasingly happening in Nigeria. A Ghana or consortium of Ghanaians top business people should have embark on that projects.

It is the political system and the constitution you have to criticise and aim for an inclusive Government system with a socialist mindset, that prioritize all Ghanaian citizens then we will all be happy.
Ghanaian and African leaders in general have too much power in their disposal to abuse and evade accountability. We need a prime minister in place of a Prez with limited power. This will enable us change them if they don't do the will of the people without waiting for general elections just like the UK, Sweden, Norway etc. Making the citizens the priority not the politicians. Even though some people don’t agree, it is very true that the effects of the excesses of the so-called revolution was devastating. The attack on businesses and businessmen no doubt killed the entrepreneurial spirit of Ghanaians.
When I first applied for a business visa as a young man, I was denied initially on the basis of not having a bank account. My answer was that I didn’t save in bank because I didn’t trust a government that interferes in people’s businesses. The consulate new the government could force the banks to provide them with information of targeted businessmen and victimize them. They were satisfied with my answer and gave me the visa!
I was stopped at the airport two times and questioned for hours by the BNI as to what business I was doing, where I got the money, how I got the visa and all that nonsense, all because according to them I was too young.
So my friend, we need to remind ourselves of the past all the time to inform ourselves of the present and the future. Present and future governments should be pressured to support indigenous businesses. We need to build our own billionaires who will create jobs. Young people should know and understand that governments do not create jobs.
Some countries including all the communist and socialist countries in the world tried it in the past, it didn’t work. China is what it is now because fifty years ago it turned around (only its economic policy) and adopted the free market system.
As for the present predicament of too much power invested in the executive, I’m sorry to reference history again. Unless you are one of those who refuse to accept the truth when it doesn’t favor them. Again it was your idol JJ and his followers who wrote the constitution as it is now so that he can continue to wield power as he wanted. Not a single person who was opposed to his junta was invited to the constitutional assembly that drafted the constitution.
I don’t know how old you are, but matter of fact that was why initially the opposition wanted to campaign against it in the referendum. Later on they changed their minds for a “Yes” vote because it was at least a first step to constitutional democracy. The promise was that it will be amended later. Unfortunately the status quo still remains, because it favors the party in power.
      Thanks again.

You see how Nana Akufo Addo and Npp government can build Ghana 🇬🇭 he is a visionary leader just like Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Don't make a mistake to bring an unprofessional leader to power if you want Ghana to be develop.
