  • Very soon, history will be created in Ghana when the country’s longest, and, by far the biggest railway project will be completed. The 97 KM Tema-Mpakadan railway line will lay the foundation of a multi-modal transportation system that will end the country’s over reliance on road transport.
Now, cargo arriving by ships at Tema port will be transported directly till Mpakadan by railway and then will be moved by ships through Lake Volta till Buipe. From there the goods will be transported further north or beyond borders to countries like Burkina Faso and Mali by road or rail network.
Afcons has been instrumental in revamping Ghana’s railway network.
Here’s a documentary of this epic railway project that is going to set a spark to Ghana's economy.

This is the difference between China and India. While China funds and builds projects in a colonial manner , extracting out prosperity and winning projects by bribing, India respects and promotes local prosperity in an economically sustainable and culturally sensitive manner. The range of technologies that Afcons has deployed is to be very appreciated.

But I'm sad it's single line. We should not encourage single rail lines.😟

Let's hope that there is some actual rail development - any passenger service development alongside cargo?

Good job Ghana but isn't there a single competent African construction and engineering firm that can do such a project?

I LIKR AFCOONS WORK AND THEIR COLLABORATION WITH GHANA AND THEY CAN DRAW FROM GHANAIANS EXPERTISE IN LOCAL CONTENT WHEN THEY NEED MAN POWER IN THE FUTURE IN OTHER PROJECTS AS THE OIL COMPANIES LIKE TULLOW DOES FROM THEIR LOCALLY TRAINED GHANAIN STAFF

You could not have said it any better. The west continue to loot our resources and try to impoverish us all through whilst the east builds our infrastructure. The difference is clear.
