Thank you sir for the troubleshooting info. It led me to a bad battery cable. After I replaced my speed controller first.. I will check your videos before I begin part swapping next time, thank you sir!
Hello and thanks for sharing Your wealth of knowledge. I bought a H101E-GO TXT back in 2003-4, and could not had been happier with it. Now within the last few years Ive replaced batteries twice & I honestly cant remember how many forward and reverse switches ......They were burnt big time. Now Im doing anther one that actually had flames! I'm in desperate need of the most heavy duty controller, solid state sylenoid available. We live on a tree farm and My Wife is disabled , with this cart being Her ride to the back.....Being in East Texas , We have a huge feral hog population !!! My biggest fear is this cart leaving Her stranded. Thanks in advance.
where does the small black wire attach from the controller . your video shows two large wires together and one large and one small wire together but where does the small one attach ?? thanks
I have a 2000 txt series. Just bought a navitas 440 controller. My old controller looks just like the one shown in this video. I can't find any videos on how to install it. I don't have an F1 or F2 wires.
Great Video, Very Informative!! i have a 94 ezgo medalist and i have to replace the controller. The only problem is the controller i have to take out has an A2 post, while the new one does not. Is this not the right controller or does it need to be connected somewhere else??
The newer controllers did take out the A2 connection. Now, instead of the forward and reverse having 2 wires going to the A2 of the Motor and a A2 going to the controller, theres just one going to the motor.
Hey there, thank you so much for sharing this info. My cart has new batteries and I just replaced the solenoid and the speed sensor, replacing the speed throttle soon. I tested the cart and it runs 8mph in full charge. Sometimes, as soon as it’s off the charger, it’ll run amazing (18mph) but after a bit, it’ll start slowing down. And at some point, it’ll have little to no acceleration still with full battery charge. May you please give me some light as to what this may be? I have an ezgo txt 2013 electric cart.
Nice videos! My 99 txt was running fine. I have 6 new batteries. Noticed about 2 months ago it would drive fine for a bit. Then if I took foot off acelerator to slow down and then try to acelerate again it would not go. I'd have to wait a minute or so and then after a moment it would take off again. Now it has been sitting about a month and full charged, but now it only clicks when I push throttle. Also noticed when I put in reverse no reverse noise occurs and only sometimes makes the reverse noise when put in reverse (this was the case a few months ago as well). I'm tempted to replace forward reverse switch to HD, solenoid to HD and to up the amperage on a new controller. Thoughts/recommendations?
Great video. I have a 2009 EZGO TXT PDS Electric golf cart. It's had a problem since day one. I can put the cart in forward and it will drive normally. If I stop for a few seconds and press the accellerator it goes very slow. If I either flip the key to OFF and back ON it fixes the issue. Also if I stop and quickly flip the button to Reverse or Neutral and back to Forward then it will act great until my next stop. Cart did this on the original batteries and the brand new ones I bought 3 months ago. When I check the diagnostic codes I get a 2-1 beep sequence. Any idea what the problem could be?
My original txt series controller has 4 terminals plus the 5 pin. My new controller has 3 terminals plus the 5 pin. Every one I can find is like this. I can’t figure out how to wire the new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Great video, very informative. I have a 04 36volt electric ezgo txt. It runs great but when i take off it jerks really hard. What do you think can cause this.
Fb Bui 99.99% of the time, when the words "jerks at takeoff" is used, it's a battery issue. The only other thing it might be is the ITS. But my money is on a battery.
Thank you for your very quick response to my questions yesterday. I reinstalled the Controller per the photos of the original installation. Thanks. Following are the results of the test you recommended.
Test Post No peddle depression Full peddle depression Battery Pack Voltage 1st Test B+ to B1 38.33v 38.71v 1st Test B+ to M 37.27v 38.71 v

The hubs turned at maximum RPMs. Before removing and re-assembling/installing the controller the hubs would only turn very slowly. If the controller is okay why was there insufficient power to turn the wheels before removal of controller and max power after the controller was reinstalled? Is there a problem somewhere else
Something isn't right here. The voltage increases with the pedal is pressed? Reading need to be with the tires on and brakes slightly held down. There needs to be a load on the system. The voltage should drop when load is applied, not increase. Reading should be taken at B+ to B- and B+ to M both with pedal depressed.
@@golfcartking: Wheels on and the cart moved under power. The charge on the battery pack with the cart not moving was 38.44. Got the cart rolling at a moderate speed. Reading between B+/B- was 38.04V and when the brake was moderately applied the voltage dropped to 37.04. With the key on but no pressure on the pedal the reading between B+/M was zero. The reading between B+/M when rolling was 0 and when the brakes were applied it remained at zero.
I just bought a 2008 txt shell has motor and complete body and wheels but no electronics could you show a list of all electronic needed and how to install them. I know I need batteries and all wiring but not sure how to put it all together. I tested the motor and it works fine but like I said that's all I have.
This video was only to show how to replace a controller. The actual controller was fine. Over loading the controller will cause it to go bad. Examples: Continuous low batteries, over loading the golf car, driving it too slow, steep hills. etc....
Hi there i love this channel! I just bought my first fixxer upper cart. Its an ez go 2004 txt . I bought it for 250 bucks. And the only thing missing is batteries. I was just wonderimg if you could give me some direction on what i should start with. All the components seem to be in good working order and was running before the batteries were removed . I would like a faster golf cart so is there a package i can get ie. Batteries controller and direction switch in a package or should i just by batts and cables first and go.frim there? Thanks so much im learning tons from you guys and love that yall.are texans if thats what i read earlier on facebook lol
It could be a couple of different things such as: (1) Batteries are getting weak (2) ITS going bad (3) Bad connection of the Contact Board (4) Brushes at Armature in Motor worn.
I have a 2006 ez go with what looks like the same controller here. How do you test that controller to see if it is bad? My motor starts to turn but doesn't have seem to have power to get it moving.
Sounds more like a battery issue than a motor issue! But just for kicks, put the back of the car on jack stands for safety, key on, in forward, check the voltage at B+ and B- (what the controller has to work with) should be total battery voltage, then B+ to M-. Should start at 0 voltage and slowly rise to full voltage as you press the accelerator pedal.
My 36 volt cart is reading full charger, but after a little run time the cart is slow! I have a volt meter and it reads full yet it feels like the batteries are dead! Would you know what that could be!
my grandfather is having problems with battery cable leaking battery acid on the front right battery which runs into the control box should I change the battery or the cable?
We need to determine the "Root Cause" first. Things to look for: Is the battery being over filled? Water should just barely cover the plates. Is the Spark Arrester clogged? Inside the cap there are round disk that vent gasses yet also protect the fluid from sparks. Should be copper color, if Black, clogged. Is the Battery physically leaking? Cracked or leaking around the Lead Post? Replace Battery. If the cable has been eroded, replace also.
EZ 2006 PDS cuts off in forward or reverse. Can let it seat and it will go again for a while then dead. 4 sets of batteries in 5 years, batteries replace 2 months ago, new cables, solenoid clicks. Tightening all connections or replacing a wire only brings brief relief. Put cart on jacks. Wheels will turn very slowly. Put it on the ground and it doesn't have power to move. Have a ALLTRAX NIVEL 490 controller. (DCX400PDS.adpt.ITS). The "B" post is rusted on the interior side. Dont' have diagnostic code. Service dept at dealership keep say it's bad batteries. How do I tell if this controller is at fault? Could the accelerator"s switch cause this?
The controller has 3 large cables going to it. Each is marked on the controller B+, B- and M. Measure with voltmeter with the key on and the pedal fully depressed .......B+ to B- = 36v or better. That shows what the controller is getting to work with. Then B+ to M = (pedal up) 0 volts (pedal down) 36v or better. Thats what the controller is putting out.
Yes, just make sure no note which location each large wire is going to. There are 4 large wires on the bottom that are color coded. Make sure Run/Tow in in Tow and for safety, remove one battery cable.
I have a 98 ezgo txt cart, it will not move. Batteries are fully charged, new control modular. New solenoid, new f&r switch and new its switch, still not moving. What could be wrong
Divide and concur, check the 2 small terminals of the solenoid with the key on, in forward and the accelerator pedal depressed. If proper voltage is present, problem is solenoid or something past it (controller/motor), if no voltage, problem is prior to solenoid.
You were right, it was a battery issue. One terminal had vibrated loose and didn't have a good connection. Thanks for replying .
Thank you sir for the troubleshooting info. It led me to a bad battery cable. After I replaced my speed controller first.. I will check your videos before I begin part swapping next time, thank you sir!

Hey mate
Mine also has an “F1 & F2” connection, they’re only light gauge wires that run to the motor. Any idea what they are for? Cheers

Check the ohms of the TPS. Should read 0 - 5k
Can you tell me what wires go where? From motor to controller, and motor to forward and reverse assembly?
can you get a conversion kit if you have spade controller but cart requires pin?

Sounds like the controller is going bad.
it certainly could be the controller but I had this problem once before and it was actually my forward/ reverse control switch
Any idea if it's the same process for a 2005 text?

what brand batteries are those?
What would cause that controller to overheat
Can you tell me what would make my EzGo electric golf cart jerky in lower speeds but not in higher speeds. Thanks

Try running a load test on the batteries, you're giving a great example of a weak battery.
DIY Golf Cart the lowest battery showed 5.6
No battery should ever read below 5.9 under a load.
DIY Golf Cart the initial start it drops than levels out at 5.9
