Hey guys. I removed the back 4 screws under the caps. Where exacting are the ones under the fender well? Those should the last ones remaining to take off for removal of back body. Thanks again.

I have a 2002 Ezgo TXT golf cart. Its only running at 1/4 speed. I removed and reconditioned the motor and it looks like new, however, hasn't reolved the problem. I'm looking at replacing the speed control unit next. Would appreciate any thoughts as to the potential issue and solutions before I go ahead and replace the speed control unit. THX!

PLEASE tell me you know that a 1/4" bolt (diameter) uses a 7/16" wrench or socket, and a 5/16" bolt uses a 1/2" wrench, etc. The diameter of the bolt determines the naming of the bolt, and NOT the distance across flats, which determines the wrench used.

You said the 4 bolts in the rear bumper are 7/16, which would require a 5/8 socket. That socket is too big to fit in the hole. Any suggestions? thanks...excellent video series!

What size pop rivets are you using in those 1/2" holes in the front??

I am thinking about applying for a job repairing golf carts.
My first impression is carts in general do not allow easy access to vital parts. Is this a correct assumption? I also don’t see access panels to remove making repairs unnecessarily difficult and other videos also show components are in tough to reach places. Am I correct assuming aged carts are a real pain and also carts in general are somewhat needlessly challenging due to poor engineering planning?
I also assume conditions for field service are vastly different than your clean warm and well supplied shop complete with helper for removing parts.
    Signed,
    Very interested but seriously cautious.

The older the golf car, the more challenging it can be to work on them. Most vital parts (controller/ITS/TPS/motor) can be in vicarious places but none are too hard to get to. A lot of the video's were done with the body removed only to create lighting and a visual representation of where the part or parts are located. I personally worked on golf car's in the field by myself for around 15 years without any help being by my side, so its not too bad.

I want to clarify on cal snow's question below... Once I remove the body panels, and have everything exposed, what is the best way to clean the cart: frame, battery seating, suspension, motor, etc? Can I just pressure wash the majority of it and use only a water hose for the battery area? Can I use something like Simple Green and just spray down the whole thing, batteries and all? Will the electrical connections get messed up if I leave the circuit connected during this? Thanks!!!

+rtman70 Ensure that all Battery Caps are fully seated, then get to washing! Simple Green is good for the frame and exterior of the motor and wires. Baking Soda is great for neutralizing battery acid on and around the batteries. Keep in mind, Golf Courses raise the seats up and wash the batteries and the motor area everyday with water hoses with no issues.

I have broken one of the bolts on the front bracing support any tricks to get it out other then drilling it? If I do that I loose my threads in the screw hole. Thanks.

Justin Owens Go to your local Automotive Store and get a EZ -OUT. You drill a small hole through the center and use this tool to back out the broken bolt.

I've got a 1946 EZ Go golf cart and would like to remove the medal body and replace it with a non-metal body. Any suggestions on where to look for instructions on how to do this?
This '46 is massive heavy and will run a lot better without its medal body.
Also, where can I find your video on Stage Two of this video?
Thanks. You're easy to watch and listen to and I like it that you fast forward through some of the self-explanatory stuff.
Can't wait to see what you do with this cart now that the body is off.

@@golfcartking Hi...the link you provided above goes to a parts shop, but they don't explain how to take the body off a golf cart. But thanks anyway.
