Absolutely real, a little bit of a side thing i also just enjoy the insight he offers on tons of stuff i would never usually pick up on music Hes an absolute goat
fun fact, the level that deep blue plays in has water arenas that muffle the drums, so only like 40% of the fights let you actually hear the drums, that is unless you drain all the water
also the reason the first vid of deep blue didnt have sax was because that video was posted before the update came out, so the sax hadnt been added yet, and the second video was a fan made mash up from the game files because the official album with the up to date song hadnt been released yet
I'm sure you've figured this out by now, but many of these tracks by Hakita are dynamic - as in they change depending on the situation. Many tracks, including Deep Blue and Dune Eternal, have calm loops and combat loops. The OST version alternates between these two, and the change is quite noticeable when listening to them. This is especially true with Deep Blue (the Lo-Fi section compared to the Jungle section). Which is cool, because that means many of these tracks have 3 versions to listen to depending on your mood!
I don't know if anyone has ever said this, but your hair is very nice, and frames your face very well. Works extremely well with your choice of clothe as well.
For those that don't know the melody in Dune eternal that plays at 15:35 and 18:06 is the intro melody from Into Sandy's City from the soundtrack of Doom 2, a double doom reference in name and music
@@therealairyhfjone i literally started with "for those that dont know" which means i already knew in order for me to tell people who dont know, i understand the pun, its a cery obvious pun, the point of the comment is for those who dont know about the doom 2 reference and thus wouldnt know about the pun (which does not include me as by mentioning the fact i know it)
I'm so excited for the eventual Layer 7 tracks. I'm wondering if Lion's been making us wait on that one to do it in one huge video, but I'm sure that's just this new blend my copium dealer gave me to try.
love how this soundtrack continues to impress me with its variety and intensity! love the drums of the first song I would love to see someone perform that live! adding the sax in the 2nd version is a nice touch especially since it was still subtle and didn't take away from the great drumming and the 3rd song had such sweet bass with even more great drums! in my mind drums and bass can make any song better but that is just my humble opinion!
This is by far one of my favorites because of the calm and possibly emotional notes at the start and then it comes the intense midi jungle drums that sometimes even sound like someone is making a whole ass drum beat with their pens and pencils on a wooden table.
There is another fps soundtrack that is absolutely awesome, and I would love hearing you react and dissect them a bit, its called Supplice, and specifically (from the songs that are published in youtube), I think Atrium, Red Giant and Thermocline are fantastic options. (btw, Ultrakill ost is amazing, love hearing your videos about this and other soundtracks!)
I remember the gave has a guest musician that helped hakita with if i remember correctly saxophone, so im almost positive it might be a real saxophone yeah
genuinely surprised you haven't touched on war without reason, world looks white/world looks red, or suffering leaves suffering leaves. war without reason is a genuinely transcendent song for me and i have no doubt you'll love it and its subtleties. others i recommend are glory, requiem, a shattered illusion, and the fire is gone

Please do more of this, I love your ULTRAKILL soundtracks reaction vids I recommend Fallen Angel and/or War Without Reason! and this might sounds stupid but try listening to Pressure, a Roblox "dark and not so friendly" horror game, which has this genre of soundtrack, and again I recommend Eyes In The Skies and/or Knock Knock
Im so hyped to see your reaction to layer 7 OST, a suggestion of order of songs for it incase youre going to do it in the near future, The World Looks Red, Hear! The Siren Song of Death, and finally( since this a boss song and imo the best one) War Without Reason 🤘
Would really love some Kevin Penkin - Made in abyss soundtracks. Those are absolutely fantastic. One of the most underrated compossers youll find. Tomorrow is my personal favorite
the muffled way of deep blue is intentional, that's because it's a water level and in ultrakill, when you go into water, every sound is muffled, including the music. so 90% of the track is muffled at all times aside from some rooms or if you drain the water
The level the track Deep Blue is used in is pretty much entirely water which is impossible to avoid but every level in the game has a unique challenge to it for some to try and beat and the challenge for the level is "Don't Touch Any Water"
great video as always :D btw you should listen the violence layer ost from ultrakill the most recent work of hakita on the game i would recomend you 2 or 3 songs but i think is worth to listen all of them in a row.
If I may make a suggestion Lionmight, give a reaction and review to the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide OST and general soundtrack. Its a hidden gem and was up there for potentially winning the year for best game soundtrack last year. It will surprise you with its quality as they leaned heavily into choral music, industrial beats, and vintage sounds that fits the vibe the Imperium of Mankind in the setting and lore.
Could you try the Frostpunk theme "The City Must Survive", man that one is a masterpiece for dystopian setting world. Anyway, ty for all of your reactions, near-peak reaction tbh.

I think I prefer the first version of Deep Blue best. Granted, I don't know much about Ultrakill (I have like a bajillion other games I should be playing) but I feel like the vibes are more...vibey or something.
im sure many people have probably suggested this but you should take a look at red dead redemption 2, its the first game where i really just enjoy listening to the music without having to play the game
Definitely recommend listening to GW2 Heart of Thorn music! GW2 doesn't get enough praise for their music production. Look up Epic Step's video: Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns - Original Soundtrack, it IS nearly 1,5 hours long but I think you'll love it! ❤
If you like ultrakill music then you should also try listening to ultrakill fangame OSTs! Mainly coming from roblox games like Combat Initiation and PRESSURE, since there aren’t much ultrakill fangames but yea! ^_^
