The 1970's i feel was the most exciting era of the century with transport becoming slightly better technology was more on the up although still basic. I definately feel that people communicated much better during the 60's & 70's they certainly had a very good time with parties and family gatherings. Getting to the point. Some people who are making rude comments on sally's apperance. What you have to remember is that sally just like many of her contemporaries at the time lived the high life of the 1970's. Sally was young, she was beautiful, sally loved sports cars, craved excitement, she had it all. I have absolutely no doubt that sally liked a good drink and most likely a smoke along with it. Absouletly everyone drank and smoked during the 70's. If you were of a certain age at the time with money you certainly went along with it all when working alongside the many stars of the day up in high places. Im ultimately sure that sally will tell you that seeing what she has experienced has very little to no regrets. Im pretty sure there are many here who have met her, can tell me what a lovely lady sally is. Her personality always shines!!!!
Sally was 20 when she played the part of 11 year old Phyllis Waterbury in 'The Railway Children' in 1970. She was 3 years older than Jenny Agutter despite Jenny Agutter playing her 17 year old sister Roberta (Bobby) Waterbury.

It was only 20-30 years after the war.
Peoples way of thinking was different.
The 1970's i feel was the most exciting era of the century with transport becoming slightly better
technology was more on the up although still basic.
I definately feel that people communicated much better during the 60's & 70's
they certainly had a very good time with parties and family gatherings.
Getting to the point.
Some people who are making rude comments on sally's apperance.
What you have to remember is that sally just like many of her contemporaries at the time
lived the high life of the 1970's.
Sally was young, she was beautiful, sally loved sports cars, craved excitement, she had it all.
I have absolutely no doubt that sally liked a good drink and most likely a smoke along with it.
Absouletly everyone drank and smoked during the 70's. If you were of a certain age at the time
with money
you certainly went along with it all when working alongside the many stars of the day up in high places.
Im ultimately sure that sally will tell you that seeing what she has experienced
has very little to no regrets.
Im pretty sure there are many here who have met her, can tell me what a lovely lady sally is.
Her personality always shines!!!!
We all age, I think she looks really great. All the best Sally.
Beautiful lady
Brilliant actress especially in man about the house as well as the railway children.
Wow that’s amazing, I’d never have thought she was 20 in that film!! 😃
Love her ❤️
Forever Phyllis......thanks for the memories...
Great memories of the Railway Children, wonderful film, when we had a lovely country, not like now
A great movie for all us kids back then , she was brilliant and still is.
Sally was 20 when she played the part of 11 year old Phyllis Waterbury in 'The Railway Children' in 1970. She was 3 years older than Jenny Agutter despite Jenny Agutter playing her 17 year old sister Roberta (Bobby) Waterbury.
stnicholas54 I'm absolutely STUNNED to find that your first sentence is totally true.
Sally was also a heavy smoker and she was chain smoking off camera on the set of The Railway Children which was always quite a shock to people in the crew who didn't know how old she really was.

Only his first sentence is true...
@@redblade8160 what was wrong with the rest of it? Sally is older than Jenny either by two or three years dependant on their birthdates and the date the film was made rather than released.
Wow" im sorry for the boyfriends she had at the time because they would look like Peado's next to her😳
Beautiful Sally! ✌🏼❤️
💕 super actress!
Sally Thomsett played Phyillis on The Railway Children 👧 👧 🧒 in 1970. She was with Jenny Agutter who played Roberta and Gary Warren who played Peter on The Railway 🚃 Children 👧 👦 🧒 in 1970 is over 50 previous years ago. Now it’s 2023. Unbelievable thing to happen that time 🕰️ flew quickly. My age in 2023 is 47 years old. Bloody hell. Life is short. Good 👍 luck 🍀 Sally Thomsett and enjoy 😊 the rest of your life everyday without worrying about things and please 🙏 be happy 😊. Bring it on Sally Thomsett. 👍👍👍👍👍
Loved the film and well done Sally.
She s so lovely 😊
She's a lovely lady
Loved the film and Sally🥰
After being almost 72, this last Sunday I saw the railway children for the first time, ashamed to admit to it, but it was a sickly sweet film and I loved it, such a lovely film to watch on my own on a hot sweltering evening. How sad to see how sally’s aged, she was a cute young lady back in the day
After 52 years, one is supposed to age. Ageing is a privilege. So many people don't get to do it.
Everyone ages
@@tandm86 a very good point. Especially with illness and disease. Survive that, age is just a number and to be embraced and appreciated.
@@liverbird4553 , did I slag her you twat, no, I bleeding didn’t, read what I wrote, or are you as thick as you seem.
Age comes to us all, if we are lucky.
Age is a cruel mistress..it strips us of happiness..Sally thomasett is a lovely looking lady whose face is a reminder of the ravages of time ..not something to be ashamed about...age is a frightening thing and beautiful as well..it enriches our Life
Why should age strip us of happiness you are a blessed person if you live a long life my nanna was 95 when she passed away she loved her life and was a beautiful lady
@@TASIAawful1 Hi there 🖐️thanks for your comment on the railway children referring to actress Sally thomasett..I agree with your encouraging words on the meaning of age..I do however spend a lot of time titivating myself everyday trying to look pretty..its a must that I look my best when going out into the world...or else the public looks at me like I have the plague..it seems this world has this idea that looking pretty you are liked but if a person is ugly they get rejected...its not fair how good looks and youthful appearance plays such a great part in this world.. i want to age gracefully..
It's called growing old , it happens .
certainly shows how skilled she is as an actress to pull it off, well done Sally !
I had a huge crush on Sally in the early 1970s when I was about seven or eight years old! Lovely lady nowadays, too.
I had a poster of Sally on my wall when I was a kid
I enjoyed the film when I was a girl and have had the pleasure of watching it with my children and my grandies. Last week I went with my 8 year old granddaughter to watch the new film.
Beautiful lady she was
Loved the Railway children. Sally is a lovely beautiful woman still.
Jenny Agutter : 18
