It's kind of sad that Jesse and Hank's death fixed a LOT of problems in this universe. Jane likely never relapsed, Andrea never died, Hank never assaulted Jesse leading Walter to need Gale fired to keep Jesse quiet which would snowball into Gus and Gale's deaths, Steve lives. Even at the end of it Walter does end up cooking with someone he. I believe, would fully enjoy working with and would prosper off of, and maybe working with Gale would help him be a better person given how innocent Gale was.

tbf keeping even HECTOR alive is no longer an option in this. he's recovered, he has full knowledge of what gus intends to do to him and keeping him alive for whatever torture he has planned is simply too costly and impossible to pull off now that ol tio salamanca likely wants to personally rip gus's face off
gus likely had his fill of revenge from wiping out don eladio the jackass and the rest of his cartel goons, and i think hector recovering AT ALL would probably be one hell of a wake up call. gus is NOT going to have a second lalo salamanca situation where he personally has to risk being in a firefight with a mortal enemy, especially if it's hector, with all his experience (even if he is rather old)

    • @osmanyousif7849

Probably would be better to have Hector witness his nephews and grandson get killed before his eyes first. Therefore, as he looks in horror at seeing all his family gone, someone, probably Gus or Mike holds a gun to his head and tells him some final one line. Before blowing his head off.
      Kind of similar to Sicario.

I think the situation where Tuco kidnapped Walt & Jesse probably would never happen if Hector was in a better shape. That’s mainly because Hector could’ve maintain stronger control/influence over Tuco, although Tuco would still be struggling with “meth related problems” but not to the degree when he kidnaps two guys without any plan whatsoever, brings them to Hector’s place saying that they can cook meth and they should go across the border together to build a meth empire there… Hector probably would disregard that idea as insane and go much simpler way - whack both Walter and Jesse right there, tell Tuco to dispose of bodies, get the hell out of his house and out of country faster than cops can catch him. Anyways, love your what ifs, good stuff.

If walt never broke bad there just wouldn't be a show. Jesse would remain a small time player but after the arrest of Emilio he'd likely be killed by Krazy-8 as Krazy-8 in the actual show tried pinning the DEA raid on Jesse and this time Jesse doesn't have the ultra pure meth to keep him alive for a bit longer. Hank would remain the same as his season 1 self as he never becomes obsessed with finding Heisenberg. Gus would take down the Cartel just without Jesse this time and would continue his business with Gale as his cook. Walt would continue being a teacher until he gets the job offer from Elliot which he would accept as he has no meth business to go back to. He'd likely make it to one of the top positions in the company, reconnect with Gretchen and Elliot and make a lot of money for his family. I could see Elliot giving them a few extra millions as a tribute to his late friend which on top of Walt's earnings at Grey Matter would leave the White family very wealthy. Mike would make more than enough money to leave Kaylee and after a few more years of working with Gus would retire as a millionaire. Jack and his gang would continue as they had before Season 5. Basically everyone aside from Jesse and The Cartel get good endings here.

I loved the ride and the conclusion, it's actually pretty well thought out. However, the one thing I have a bit of a gripe with is the fact that Gus would have never let his revenge against Hector go. It was literally his main purpose in life and can't see Gus not taking care of Hector himself. I mean, if it were that easy for him, he would have left him to die when Nacho switched the pills instead of going out of his way to keep him alive.

These are great. I've never done any BB/BCS fanfic this lengthy, but I did two really small ones.
One was the "conversation" Walt would've had while attaching the bomb to Hector's wheelchair, and the other was (assuming Gus actually had a family) Gus' ex-wife coming over to talk about their eldest son ("I'm here to talk about Max") wanting to attend a distant college. The convo happens about ten minutes before Walter shows up as per Gus' dinner invitation in BB season 3.

A neat thing I've noticed in a lot of these Breaking Bad "What If" videos is that the stories where things don't go the way Walter intended often end up saving him mentally, and others literally. This story is a good example of this. Your video on "What if Drew Sharp" survived is another good example. I'm rather lazy, so I won't explain anything here, but it's just really interesting how if Walter's plans failed a bit more in the actual show, it could've stopped him from eventually being consumed by Heisenberg. If things went a bit more wrong for Walter, he never would've become Heisenberg. He'd still use the name for business reasons, but he never would've actually blackened his soul.
    Great story man! :D

The only way Jessie could survive his encounter with Hector(recovered) & Tuco is if he had double the plot armour than he has in the show.
Hector would definately not trust an addict and would manipulate Walt into thinking he k1IIed Jessie for his safety.

If mike wasn’t shot, then he would have gone back to new mexico with Gus and with mike in the picture it would be much harder for walt to kill gus, as there are multiple eyes watching him. He would be ragged into the dessert as to the original timeline. But this time when walt is on his way to see saul abt the disappearer, mike placed a tracker on walt’s car in the dessert earlier to track walt’s every movement. The plan would fail, as skyler gave the money to beneke.
Walt would be forced to send his family to hank’s where the DEA is guarding them. Walt would use lily of the valley to poison brock to manipulate Jesse against Gus. But Mike is steps ahead of walter as he keeps tabs on walter’s plans and take him down.
Gus would be told this and would follow through on his plan to kill Walter and his family. So now that walter is dead, jesse’s hatred for Gus would strengthen and the DEA would further suspect Gus’s involvement in the drug trade and would send agents to find an underground meth lab beneath the laundry.
Jesse would work with the DEA to arrest Gus and gather enough evidence to convict him. Gus would face life imprisonment and his restaurant chain would be completely shut down.
Mike, Jesse and Saul would go their separate ways through the disappearing move by Ed. Jesse would convince Brock and Andrea to move to Alaska with him and she would gladly take it, giving jesse the life he always wanted. But eventually he will come to realize walt’s manipulations on him later on but his anger would simmer knowing that he is free.
Mike will take his share of 5 million and give it to his granddaughter, kaylee and would disappear as well to some remote place to keep tabs on kaylee while also avoiding the feds.
Saul’s fate would remain the same.

so right about hector. no half measures or hesitation with him. though i don't know if it would be as friendly with walt. maybe hec does respect his age group of peers slightly more than other civilians, but not by much- walt looks scared and hopeless- his only use being meth, so hec would quickly employ strong arming tactics without even the pretence of niceness, enslaving walt and killing jesse, killing hank, ruling new mexico with an iron fist over every other antagonist probably save for mike or walt.

I really like the idea of hector post stroke recovery actually learning some anger management and rivaling gus in his ability to hide his inner distain. Though I think if Hector, the twins, and most importantly *Lalo* outlive Eladio and Bolsa, they would not hesitate to immediately go into a gang war with their superior muscle. Hector and Lalo would probably even brain storm over the phone on their next move instead of congregating to the house. So I don't think it would be as easy for mike to just snipe them all in one place. So I kinda imagine at least one salamanca getting the jump on Gus and "peeling off his snake skin." Before the wars over.
One other thing to consider is nacho, cause I figure he's only going to wanna try and get hector killed in a different way if hector will try to rope his father into the game.

    Four questions:
Why on earth would the cartel want to show Gus's cook how to cook meth better.
Why is Hector so "calm" when he should be bananas after what Gus did.
Why would Gus decide to save Walter or the real question is, why would he let him go with that excuse?
Why are you so keen on having Jessie die prematurely most of the time?

Damn this is probably the closest to a "good ending" that any of these have been. I'm surprised that Hector recovering would lead to that 😅. I do think all the Salamancas being taken down so easily wouldn't be quite how it goes but I do like the idea of Gus and Gale working to save Walt. Feels in character for Gale to sympathise and for Gus to be motivated by taking down Hector.

Happy ending!? Hank and Jessie were murdered! Lol. That was an awesome story. Wow. Hector was one of my favorite characters from the show. He was so scary. Do you think Skyler would have sensed the lie? Something tells me their marriage was crumbling before even the cancer started. Uh your story, is the baby Walt’s? Or Benekes? Or however, his name is spelt.

This "What If?" could have been a great plot for a stand-alone feature film. A feeble cancer patient starts an amateur meth operation only to wind up inadvertently instigating the fall of the cartel.
