Around British Rail, March 1991.

A few shots, unedited, taken around the country at the end of March 1991.
We start at Bescot, then move to Saltley depot for a typical display of motive power at the time.
We then head down to London, featuring Old Oak Common Depot, Paddington, then onto London Bridge for a few brief scenes filmed at the Open Day held there. Thence onward we travel to Ripple Lane, showing locos stabled for the weekend, and finally back up North to Tinsley depot showing once again, a typical line up as the light begins to fade..

Another cracking video mate.
Massive memories of what was familiar and seemed it would last forever.
Particularly liked the shots of Saltley and Ripple lane.
All that's left of the former is the scrapyard. And George and I passed by Ripple Lane last week and it's just a pile of dirt!!
There are some sidings and freight traffic, but the depot is gone completely.
Tinsley as i remember too. All those sidings..... Just so much gone........

I had the pleasure of driving past the 'Three Magpies' in Brinsworth a few days ago mate, so for old times sake I drove down the approach road at Tinsley.... I honestly wished I hadnt 🙄🙄🙄

Some great memories there, bescot saltley tinsley can’t picture where the line of 3 81s/85s is without overhead wires.

Hi, the 85s are stabled at Ripple Lane, Barking. They electrified just the one road from memory in the very late 80s/early 90s when the North London line was electrified at 25Kv for use by the electric hauled container traffic.
