50007 and 50049 freshly outshopped in large logo livery make the climb to Shap Summit look rather easy, as they pass Scout Green, with Pathfinder Railtours 'The Grampian Highlander' on Saturday 24/08/24.

37901 from the drivers seat 2007.
มุมมอง 955 หลายเดือนก่อน
More from the archives. This was purely filmed as an experiment, using a rather cheap digi-cam strapped to my head, while driving 37901 during a Thomas Event at the Llangollen Railway during 2007. This hopefully shows how the class 37/9s got their 'Slug' nicknames, the locos being incredibly slow to load up due to a choke that is fitted in the regulating air circuit from the drivers power contr...

Some long forgotten footage given to me by a former work colleague, featuring 46010 and myself during what I think may have been the 2001 or 2002 diesel gala. Thanks to Mr D for filming this all those years ago...

Class 20 Smell-O-Vision
มุมมอง 2406 หลายเดือนก่อน
Ok, its not exactly what the title suggests, but lets go back to the Summer of 1992 once again and revisit our old friends 20090 and 20132 on the return Skegness-Derby job. Filmed from further down the train than my normal front window viewpoint for maximum effect, 20090 is doing its usual 'party piece' with its suspected load reg related engine issues and producing copious amounts of 8SVT gene...

A quick mooch around Margam Traction Maintenance Depot on the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend August 1994. The usual supsects can be seen on shed, typical of a weekend visit. All gone now of course sadly.

On what was the hottest day of the year so far, 56302 and 56051 arrive and run round their empty tanks prior to propelling into the North Tees Navigator Terminal for loading on 26/06/24. The light engines returning to Doncaster are then seen at Belasis Lane with 0D45 Haverton - Doncaster Colas Sidings.

Further to an earlier upload on this channel featuring these workings, more footage has now been transferred to PC for your perusal, usual routine, 37s, vac braked hoppers and plenty of noise.... Plus a little bit of 08 bonus footage at Oakleigh Yard at the end.. Enjoy.

Southport Club Train Shunting
มุมมอง 864ปีที่แล้ว
Following a derailment on the link from the Wigan lines to the Merseyrail lines at Southport, the loco hauled club trains utilised the former excursion platform lines to run round the stock, resulting in a lengthy run round via the ground frame at the former St.Lukes station. Here we see a couple of these moves from 1993.

Yet more 20s To Skegness again 1993
มุมมอง 220ปีที่แล้ว
Its now 1993 and we take some further jolly sojourns to the East Lincolnshire resort of Skegness, firstly behind the extremely exotic former Tinsley steel pair 118 and 165, followed by tarted up 132 and 087 and finally BRT duo 128 and 131, and then..... it was all over. The end of an era....
Cross City DMUs late 1992

With the full electrification of the Birmingham Cross City Line looming closer, the days of Tyseley's finest were numbered, though they did continue to soldier on for a while after these shots were taken in late 1992. fantastic , fond memories of this fine engine at Llangollen
My dads office lol. He drove this slug many a time. Hauling steel through Salop. Nice to see it is now back on the Mainline with Rog 👍👍
great vid
Fabulous. Thanks for posting.
Do they always stop at Hammerton?
superb footage and sound
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it, the sun could have been better but the audio made up for it. Thanks for watching.
Happy days, chief!
Indeed chief, I'm pretty certain that was the day you 'left something' down the side of the 47 was it not...😂? Class token exchange there if I may say so..
Cheers chief, that must have been before the dreaded sausage roll incident 🌭🤢🤮
Hellfire, the turbo on 087 looks on it's way out!! spent a lot of time on these trains with 20's ace memories.
Used to love hanging out of the front door window. Watching the loco rock and roll. I can feel the heat from hare. Along with the bits of soot in my eye 😁👍👍
Great video. Not a Pendo or shed in sight 👍
Why do drivers walk like they have pooped themselves,,,,,.
Good ole frieght/
So glad they’re still being put to good use!
Grids on safari - excellent video. Great locations and lucky with the weather, too.
Awsome😊
How come it's coming from Haverton Hill now and not Lindsay ? I bet those tracks haven't been used in a long time !
@Sam_Green____4114 change of supplier, plus Lindsey isn't currently producing bitumen.
Great stuff, thanks for today Mr C.
You're very welcome Nick, hope you got some decent shots 👍
Excellent stuff Mr C
So 56051 runs on green fuel, it's just plain ol diesel fuel LOL
Cheers for this!
Barnacle Bill from Haverton Hill
Some nice footage there chief, bit of a busman's holiday methinks.
Very much so chief, been meaning to get to the 'other end' for a while now, back to the joys of the Preston end on Monday. Plenty of shunting to do this week for tanker maintenance etc..
A great video. Love your filming style. Thanks Mr Cool
When I was a kid 50 odd years ago we would see coal being moved through Leeds on trains that seemed to be a mile long ! 2024 and people are still train spotting 👌
Remember as a child the amount of coal trains and freight trains using this line going in to ICI and down to Port Clarence before seal sands was invented the good old days never to be repeated
Great video. Part of Teesside not often seen. Remember the rail movements well during my time working at Seal Sands.
Thanks. Although I'm not local to the area I remember seeing the train conveying the 'nasty stuff' in the late 80s/ early 90s between Seal Sands and ICI Haverton. Such a shame to see it all gone now but at least the branch has now reopened for the bitumen traffic, albeit only as far as the terminal at North Tees. I noticed while I was there that the Seal Sands branch has been tarmacked over in several places now, I'm surprised none or very little track has been recovered but I guess it's down to cost etc.. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Today the emus have taken over the DMUS on the cross city line as of today
Fantastic video of a unique part of British railway history! :D I was just wondering, would it be possible for me to use this footage as part of an upcoming documentary I'm creating about the history of the Class 81 to 85?
Yes no problem , just credit me accordingly in your film, cheers.
Lovely video - great conversation too!
Must have been one hell of a tail wind looking at them exhaust fumes?
The good old 'Vacs'. .. those were the days. JG.
Always loved that viewpoint.
Superb footage, thanks
Звук BR20 просто восхитителен! Классика!
👍👍👍❤🤍💚
Brilliant..2x37/4s on freight. How the mighty have fallen ..but also shows how versatile a beast they are. Even better today, as they are dragging 68s into storage and the 60s lie rotting at Toton. Good Old English Electric 👍👍😎
what great days
Superb footage, thanks for uploading
Nuclear ped on MGR must have been super rare
Man l SO do miss the sound of a Sulzer engine powering away.😢
Subbed ❤❤❤
Ahhh, there's nothing I like more than claggy Diesels and especially choppers .These two probably need a overhaul but by this time BR wasn't spending money on such things especially 30 year old type 1s .
superb stuff
Brilliant stuff! Brings back very happy memories, ive subscribed 👍
This is quality 👍👍
Not familiar with the location, but familiar with the 1st generation DMUs , spent many times commuting on them , always remember the side to side motion these units gave at speed , great video thanks for the memories.
Kings Norton.
Top Top footage 👌👌👌
All gone 😢
Used to love the cross country trains😎
Whilst I do like an old school locomotive, that '83 Manta is definitely the star of this video for me.
😀excellent! I did a lot of miles chasing stuff about in that thing, got a GTE not long afterwards as that was only the 1.8 variant, wish I had one nowadays 👍
