Frankly, Calgary Transit need major upgrade on their transit system if city council want to compete with rest of the world. Calgary is one of the few major metropolis left which did not have 24/7 transit system in place. The transit system is poor. Buses actually run less during cold winter days. Other major Canadian cities had 24/7 transit systems. They run at least once every hour during the night. And at peak times, once every five minutes. Their transit systems actually get busier as temperatures start to fall.

Just an FYI for 3:50, it’s true that the city used to have its own app but actually they have integrated that service to another app called Transit (at least on the iOS App Store, pretty sure it’s on android too). the buses' schedules are horrendous, and there are still a lot of bus stops without heated cabins and or lights. Yes, riding the bus is nice in the summer when you're off work BUT it is a nightmare when you have to wait at a crappy bus stop in a winter morning (... in WINTER, which is fairly long here) to go to work/school and have to get there on time.

The transit is good but it needs a lot of work done to it.
For the C-Train: We need more transit police to deal with crime and more cleaners for some of the dirtier stations (Franklin, Brentwood and Southland come to mind)
For the Buses: More buses should be put on the ground, to focus on the wait time-intervals, this would make it easier to use and make so more people would use transit

If you're low-income, I recommend you apply for a low-income bus pass through the City's Fair Entry program. You can get a form from any transit office, but I recommend City Hall as that's where they're processed. Good for one year. All you need to renew is the form, picture id, and your tax return from the previous year.

*_"BULL!!"_* Our current lax, underfunded and backwards C-train system needs to be completely overhauled and uprooted in its entirety! It's now totally unsafe to ride (with few officers present in the vicinity), and fewer now feel safe to ride it, namely during nights/early-morning hours. Personally, I [now] refrain from using it during those [late-night] hours (often preferring to taking a cab), often encountering all kinds of 'activity' amongst nearby C-train platforms and the like - It's come to that I, myself, would now only feel safe (riding/waiting on a C-train platform) in having the ability of carrying a concealed weapon (a pistol) on my person.
Compared to other nations' public-ridership global transportation infrastructures: we're appallingly way behind in this end of that spectrum; and if I ever were somehow elected as our mayor of Calgary - and having it _my_ way - the first goddamn bloody thing I'd do as mayor, would be to *BLOW-UP* the whole goddamn forsaken thing and start with 'doing it right' the first time around - by putting it either under- or over-ground, *_goddamnit!_*
"And 'sure-rights', that's the way *_I_* see it! ... And you'd goddamn-well better believe it, _'mister'!"_
