I keep returning to this. Now that I'm studying Chopin this year and working my through the nocturnes, I've listened to them all and this is my very favorite rendition. Arthur you are a genius, Frederic would be so proud.
I have almost got this piece memorized I am an organist by performance but I still play piano I really love this Chopin performance performance I hope I can get these boys in Salt Lake City to perform with the Utah Symphony that would be my dream 5:05 n peace
What a pianist does with Chopin's bizarre little coda says a lot about their musical instincts. I can happily recognize his instincts are great. This is wonderful Chopin!
am genuinely frustrated. The ending is one of the most enigmatic and utterly morbid things Chopin ever wrote, and in a major nocturne even, and no one in the comments is talking about this. Seriously, what is this ending? I must know! Why did Chopin, who ended almost all of his nocturnes, even the most tragic ones in a major key, decide to finish this beautiful thing in such tragedy?
A very romantic and dramatic interpretation. Arthur is, I believe, the true Romantic of the Duo; Lukas is slightly more the "formal" man. (This performance was before Arthur learned to style his hair!!)
A real blossoming Chopinist of the first order! Alleluia! I confess an addiction to Arthur Rubinstein's interpretations of Chopin, but his namesake may addict me even more. I look forward to see him develop artistically.
So refreshing to hear a young pianist playing with an original interpretation and totally within the style of the music. Arthur has a lovely sound , good pedaling and phrasing. Thanks for this. What else do you have of him?
I'm not sure about this but was this an Encore from his concert?? Congratulationsssssssssssssssss!!!!!! Omg I'm speaking from my heart: Congratulationssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!
That’s because you don’t understand the piece. The end almost the exact same as the argument in the B section, but much more dramatic which ultimately ends the relationship between Chopin and his love.
@@elias7748 Ah okay. I said "makes a lot more sense to me", but I meant "clinges more pleasantly to my ear, aligns with my musical taste." Maybe the relationship with Countess d'Appony shouldn't have ended! Maybe my broken heart seeks the comforting lie of the major chord!
@@kaumowammu my bad. It wasn’t Countess, which was one of his favorite students, but another woman I cant remember the name of. Anyway, he was deeply in love with her which you can hear in Opus 27, but the relationship ended shortly and thereafter fell in love with George Sand.
1:20 - 1:37 is one of the most beautiful phrases in music ever!

love the way this young man plays Chopin

Thanks God ! I'm touched by your great sensibility and greatest of talents. Dear Arthur, you certainly stand among those Chopin is so proud of.
I'm certain of that
Me too 😅

Chopin always makes me feel better on sad days

I'm listening with tears in my eyes!
So beautifully played. I’m learning this piece right now. This performance is so inspiring
The scintillating sound of this piano perfectly fits his delicate touch. Simply beautiful!

I am listening to this song and I love it so much ❤❤❤ ❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
He's soooo silky & fluid...such elegant expressiveness...which has continued 6 yrs later...
Beautiful rendition !
A lot of thanks
Wonderful ! I love Chopin, too.
Just noticed on this hearing that the incredible Jussen limpidity somehow enhances the little rubati within the pharases. Marvelous..
Wonderful!!!!
I think both Brothers will be assigned to play for God after this life when we are on the courts in heaven

who is the conductor and what else did he play at the concert?
Beethoven Piano Concerto N° 2 ... conductor Frans Bruggen and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra.
fuck
Las personas q tosen durante conciertos de este nivel, debieran tener pena de cárcel. Que falta de respeto tan grande !
The lady at 1:03 knows
Luke Holmes What is the meaning at 1:03.
1 minutes and 3 seconds in the video
Luke Holmes Is it the same melody?=3second.
Yet I am not a fan of the minor chord at the end, the Major version makes a lot more sense to me.
