+The ZenOne There's definitely been a lot of favouritism for to Star Wars, ranking in the top 10 would be deserved but number one is pretty ridiculous. There's been a complete disregard to actual quality as a movie and just a bunch of emphasis on whose the biggest Star Wars film critic fan. I love Jeremy Jahns, I love Chris Stuckmann but Jeremy wrapping his suit in a Star Wars curtain (or bedsheets, whatever it was) and Chris showing his Star Wars collection of books and toys and jizzing his pants at every new Star Wars trailer for the year, I can't take any TH-cam film critic seriously when it comes to that movie, all of them clearly have rose tinted glasses for Star Wars when the movies are above average, and that's fine, I get it, but for me, as a movie it's good, but completely undeserving of any top movie spot and I'd severely struggle to even call the movie great, for me thanks to Mad Max it wasn't even the best action movie of the year, let alone the best movie of the year.

drei. I absolutely loved The Force Awakens but I saw a lot of movies this year and there are just some that I liked better. I've always just been a casual Star Wars fan so I looked at it objectively. Still saw it 4 times in theaters, it's #14 on my list.

Honestly, Star Wars the force awakens wouldn't even be in my top ten best movies of 2015! Maybe an honorable mention at best. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't NEARLY as good as people say.
See I respect this comment. while I disagree most people hop in the comments and say everyone that disagrees with them are completely retarded and should die
+Enthios Because i don't think that star wars was the best movie ever made by human beings? It wasn't that great. I'm not even saying that it's bad either. it was ok,not great though. So deal with it.

1) Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2) Mad Max: Fury Road 3) The Martian 4) Steve Jobs 5) John Wick (released in 2015 in EU) 6) Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation 7) Straight Outta Compton 8) Kingsman 9) Age of Ultron 10) Mr. Holmes My list might have been different, but I haven't seen The Hateful Eight or The Revenant yet. I did not like Black Mass, so that's not going on there.
+YT Channel It's not awful, you were disappointed. Huge difference. The humour is fun, the action sequences are great fun to watch, the story is good and even some of the performances are really great. It has problems with pacing and the editing, but other than that it's a solid, fun and coherent film.
My top 10 movies of 2015 1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2. Inside Out 3. The Martian 4. Mad Max: Fury Road 5. Spotlight 6. Creed 7. Room 8. The Revenant 9. Straight Outta Compton 10. Bridge Of Spies Honorable Mentions: Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Ant-Man, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Black Mass, Spectre, The Good Dinosaur, Jurassic World, The Peanuts Movie, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Steve Jobs, Trumbo, Carol, Brooklyn, The Hateful Eight,The Big Short
I love you as a youtuber, you seem so genuine and down to earth, you don't have a tragic backstory you use to get views like other youtubers it's clear you have fun when you make your videos and I like that, keep up the good work I also like your rippling biceps.
+Seanh2k11 According to Box Office Mojo its widest release was 37 theaters. Couple that with the fact that it barely had a marketing campaign to speak of, it opened on only 4 theaters (again, according to BOM) and hasn't come out outside the US. How could it not be"very slept on"?
+Cole Walker Eh, not according to me. Anomalisa was good for the most part, but had a few problems, namely with the main character being quite a douchebag at times.
Awesome list John! I still have to make my list since I'm catching up on other 2015 movies as well. Keep up the great work dude and I look forward to watching your Worst of 2015 video. That should make for a hilarious video. :)
1. Mad Max Fury Road 2. Star Wars Force Awakens 3. Hateful Eight 4. Ex Machina 5. The Martian 6. Avengers: Age of Ultron (I don't care you hate it, I just want to acknowledge Joss Whedon's effort to make a trailer of Civil War and atleast good job taking quicksilver's life just not to interfere for this upcoming Civil War coz he's the only guy to stop the war or maybe when he goes on a side, that side will win and no matter what, he's the only guy that can stop Captain America being assassinate) 7. Creed 8. Inside Out 9. The Revenant 10. The Visit Honorable Mention: Sicario - but there are scenes that are not revealing, and oh, I love the bridge sequence Me Earl and the Dying Girl - good camera works bringing some kind of energy Little Prince - one of the most underappreciate animation, better than Good Dinasaur The gift - the built up reminds me of Drive Chappie - not so bad but it is a copy of District 9
+ShadowGuardian yeah it's my list. I know it's a movie with problems. It's turned into the movie everyone loves to hate like the dark knight rises. I loved it from a purely entertainment standpoint. I had so much fun at the movie that I'd be lying to myself if I didn't put it on my own list. This year is wasn't very good for movies. There were some greats but not as many as last year. Top tens are purely opinion.
5. Straight Outta Compton 4. Black Mass (seems like im the only one who loved it) 3. Sicario 2. The hateful eight 1. Jupiter ascending! Jk. 1. Force Awakens. Come on.
Johnny Depp got robbed of an Oscar nomination. Can't believe Matt Damon got nominated over him....what a joke. While I loved the Martian and Matt Damons performance it was nowhere near Oscar worthy imo.
Just enjoying every bit of the top ten!!! Way to go!! Looking forward to your worse ten. Quite a hilarious vid it's going to be. Comment coming in all the way from Oman. Hope you know where that is.
(I did not see Spotlight, Room, Carol, Sicario, Straight Outta Compton, Ex Machina, and others) 1. The Hateful Eight 2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3. The Big Short 4. The Revenant 5. Steve Jobs 6. Mad Max: Fury Road 7. Bridge of Spies 8. The Martian 9. Kingsman: The Secret Service 10. Creed
+Brad Wright The problem is, in some categories, what would you take out to replace with The Hateful Eight? Best Original Screenplay is a perfect example. I can't think of a single film nominated there that should be taken out and replaced with The Hateful Eight.
What was your main motivation to lift and get big? I'm facing that right now, I know I need to workout and get bigger, and I want to, but the journey seems sometimes daunting and too far away.
Couldn't agree more with your opinion on The Force Awakens, just a really fun movie that makes you escape real life for around 2 hours, which is what makes films great to me! Keep up the great work, John!
10. Inside Out 9. Bridge of Spies 8. Straight Outta Compton 7. The Revenant 6. The Martian 5. Sicario 4. The Hateful Eight 3. Creed 2. Mad Max: Fury Road 1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
To be honest I'm getting a bit tired of seeing Star Wars as #1 on peoples top 10. Is it an american thing to rate Star Wars so high? What Force Awakens is, is a movie which doesn't dare to take ANY real risks. It's a fun movie, but it's a safe movie which borrows too much from A New Hope. It's doesn't feel original or able to bring new to the franchise. I mean watch A New Hope and you'll see that it's basically a ripoff. It's a fun flick, yes, It's just not the best movie of 2015 by any means. The nostalgia just seem too strong in some people and their joy of it being decent makes them overrate and overhype it. I just don't get it. I liked it for what it was, but that's about it. I'd say Sicario and Mad Max: Fury Road are the best of 2015 I've seen. What I loved about Sicario is that it takes a dump on most american movies made in Hollywood. It's so unlike typical Hollywood mainstream unrealistic action, it feels real, it feels intense, it dares to take risks (unlike Star Wars), it just dares! What I like about Mad Max is pretty much everything! It's not realistic like Sicario, but instead of just being silly, it goes all the way and dares to be some entirely else of what we're used to seeing. It's a rollercoasterride filled with dedication, hard work and amazing craftsmanship from George Miller. Watch and learn stupid Fast Furious and endless other brainless Hollywood farts. These are real movies! So my picks are: 1. Mad Max: Fury Road 2. Sicario
Movies are subjective doesn't anyone understand. If Star Wars isn't your favorite movie of the year that's your opinion, plus this is favorite movies not the best. There is a difference between something that is that is the best or something that is your favorite.
Enthios Did I say I hate it? No, I said it was a fun flick, but I also said it's overrated. It's pathetic to see people like you cry your ass out thinking other's hate Force Awakens, just because they aren't as hyped about it as you. Learn to read!
Nono Pearson And you do? I don't even think you know what you're talking about. It's not like I'm reviewing movies fanboy. You keyboard-warriors crack me up. May the force be with you :-P
Star Wars overrated af, like come on all you tube critics are placing it at number no. just because there was a Star Wars movie that didn't suck. It was definitely good but the best if the year???
Agree 100% with you! its like every youtube reviewer and even what the flick say its the best movie of last year! im like WHAT?? what the flock are supposed to be professional reviewers too. star wars is an ok popcorn movie, but best movie? no way
He said he knew it wasn't the BEST of the year. But it was the most enjoyable movie of the year. It was a movie that let him esacpar his real life problems for a few hours and get sucked into this incredible galaxy. Which, at the end of the day, is what I think Star Wars is about.
I really liked your Top 10! I haven't seen some of the movies you put in there but judging by the fact that we have similar taste in movies, I'm sure I would like them!

I saw The Revenant for the first time tonight and I must say I was utterly blown away. Star Wars was... eh... it was pretty good. Mad Max Fury Road was probably my favorite of the year, mostly due to the fact that I love car movies. Anything with vehicular mayhem is an automatic thumbs up for me, which is why I also liked Furious 7. I've been a fan of the franchise since I was a kid and I must say 7 wasn't AS disappointing as 6. I also really enjoyed Creed, as well as Spectre.
"I do read me comments, usually when I'm taking a poop." I started laughing uncontrollably cause I had no idea you were about to say that. Great list. Keep the videos coming!
Great list! I'm glad that you actually explained why you put Star Wars as number one, its at the top of everyone else's lists mainly for nostalgia and just because it didn't suck, even people who listed a number of flaws have it as number one

My list might have been different, but I haven't seen The Hateful Eight or The Revenant yet. I did not like Black Mass, so that's not going on there.
Finally a list Age Of Ultron, that movie does not get enough love
+Kimberly Bytel It's awful
+YT Channel Aweful? No, but definitely not good enough to be on a critic's top 10.
+YT Channel It's not awful, you were disappointed. Huge difference. The humour is fun, the action sequences are great fun to watch, the story is good and even some of the performances are really great. It has problems with pacing and the editing, but other than that it's a solid, fun and coherent film.
Nice some love for Mr. Holmes! And John Wick is a 2015
My top 10 movies of 2015

+Matt Montada Great list.
I actually got Sour Patch kids while watching revenant
I love you as a youtuber, you seem so genuine and down to earth, you don't have a tragic backstory you use to get views like other youtubers it's clear you have fun when you make your videos and I like that, keep up the good work I also like your rippling biceps.
Anomalisa needs to be seen, very slept on movie.
agreed
+Seanh2k11 Better than Inside Out imo.
It got such a limited release
+Cole Walker Eh, not according to me. Anomalisa was good for the most part, but had a few problems, namely with the main character being quite a douchebag at times.
Awesome list John! I still have to make my list since I'm catching up on other 2015 movies as well. Keep up the great work dude and I look forward to watching your Worst of 2015 video. That should make for a hilarious video. :)
1. Mad Max Fury Road
2. Star Wars Force Awakens
3. Hateful Eight
4. Ex Machina
5. The Martian
6. Avengers: Age of Ultron (I don't care you hate it, I just want to acknowledge Joss Whedon's effort to make a trailer of Civil War and atleast good job taking quicksilver's life just not to interfere for this upcoming Civil War coz he's the only guy to stop the war or maybe when he goes on a side, that side will win and no matter what, he's the only guy that can stop Captain America being assassinate)
7. Creed
8. Inside Out
9. The Revenant
10. The Visit
Honorable Mention:
Sicario - but there are scenes that are not revealing, and oh, I love the bridge sequence
Me Earl and the Dying Girl - good camera works bringing some kind of energy
Little Prince - one of the most underappreciate animation, better than Good Dinasaur
The gift - the built up reminds me of Drive
Chappie - not so bad but it is a copy of District 9
John: Number 1 is Alvin & the Chipmunks The Road Chip
Me: (heart attack)
10. Sicario
9. Ant-man
8. Spotlight
7. Age of ultron
6. Inside out
5. Bridge of spies
4. Creed
3. The revenant
2. Star Wars
1. Mad max.
+Tyler Jacobson spotlight were is it
cool vid John! been waiting for this :) especially can't wait for your top 10 worst !
Man, no love for The Road-Chip...
+RevengeOfMoctezuma The fuck you're talking about!? It's number 1 on his list
Great video once again, John. Always a pleasure to hear your take in your classic MidWestern accent!
no spotlight or the big short?
Big Short is overrated as hell
+MrMoviesandstuff I think it's too soon to call it overrated. It was a fantastic movie and it deserves most of the praise its getting.
+MrMoviesandstuff ummm.... no it wasn't the acting and pacing of the film was near perfect
+MrMoviesandstuff it's better than Adam McKay's other stuff.
I love the big short but it was too complicated...and Spotlight was dry, slow and lacked of energy...so forgettable and joyless.
One of your best edited videos, geat job man! Very Funny and your choices weren't really surprising!
5. Straight Outta Compton
4. Black Mass (seems like im the only one who loved it)
3. Sicario
2. The hateful eight
Oh it sucked no doubt *****
I loved black mass
Just enjoying every bit of the top ten!!! Way to go!! Looking forward to your worse ten. Quite a hilarious vid it's going to be.
Comment coming in all the way from Oman. Hope you know where that is.
(I did not see Spotlight, Room, Carol, Sicario, Straight Outta Compton, Ex Machina, and others)
1. The Hateful Eight
2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
3. The Big Short
4. The Revenant
5. Steve Jobs
6. Mad Max: Fury Road
7. Bridge of Spies
8. The Martian
9. Kingsman: The Secret Service
10. Creed
+trd 12 Pretty good list nonetheless.
I agree with your number one big time.
I ended up seeing Sootlight and Room and I thought Room was about 4 and Sootlight was about 9
Great video John. You are one of my favorite reviewers and you do not have nearly enough subscribers!!!
The Hateful Eight should have gotten more OSCAR nominations.
I couldn't agree more. Several filns were snubbed. But The Hateful Eight was a magnificent film
I feel like The Force Awakens will be The Dark Knight Rises all over again
I still adore The Dark Knight Rises, so that'd be great for me!
You mean a terrific film with small flaws but some people extremely hate for no reason? Then yes, it is like that.
Asadmah Productions Well said.
Couldn't agree more with your opinion on The Force Awakens, just a really fun movie that makes you escape real life for around 2 hours, which is what makes films great to me!
Keep up the great work, John!
When's the Worst Of coming?
+Hunter Hughes Soon!
+theFLICKpick How soon?
10. Inside Out
9. Bridge of Spies
8. Straight Outta Compton
7. The Revenant
6. The Martian
5. Sicario
4. The Hateful Eight
3. Creed
2. Mad Max: Fury Road
So my picks are:
1. Mad Max: Fury Road
2. Sicario
Movies are subjective doesn't anyone understand. If Star Wars isn't your favorite movie of the year that's your opinion, plus this is favorite movies not the best. There is a difference between something that is that is the best or something that is your favorite.
Stick to your day job, because you don't know how to critique a film.
Chris Ramirez If this is favorite movies then why did John title it Top 10 Best movies? Get your head straight mate.
Creed in my opinion was the most enjoyable movie of the year. But The Revenant triumphs as the 2015 masterpiece.
Michael Bush Creed was a sensation. Loved it. The Revenant also was definitely a masterpiece. Leo DiCaprio never disappoints
I hate the term overrated. It sounds like stating it as fact. I think it was a terrific film that DESERVES to be no. 1

YES FINALLY!!!!!!!! love your videos btw! much love from scotland!!!!
Great list! I'm glad that you actually explained why you put Star Wars as number one, its at the top of everyone else's lists mainly for nostalgia and just because it didn't suck, even people who listed a number of flaws have it as number one

You should do a top 10 suprising movies of 2015. Like movies that flew under the radar that many people may not have known, and it turned out to be a great flick. My top for that list is the movie "Dope"
