With all the ups and downs that must have been a killer on the knees but the views were superb. I loved the bum sliding technique coming down the grassy areas, very fast way of coming down. Good to see you made it back and not cut off and there were plenty behind you as well, so a great effort. A real eclectic mix of ages for the prize giving very well done to them all, cheers Alan
Thank you, Alan, for some reason, thanks goodness, my knees don't get affected. But the only reason why there were plenty behind me is because I started earlier. The race organiser let me and two other runners do it.
So much wild and unspoilt country - with climbs needing handholds! Adventure running. Clever route planning to fit an AM into such a small area. I'm glad it was dry and clear for the evening. Well done to all.
This course looks insane but the views at the top with the giant wind turbines as backdrop are gorgeous! Are all the fell races in UK this challenging? I am always impressed by how much you're able to capture on these difficult courses, while making commentaries and interacting with the runners during your run! Is it a tradition to win beers and wine bottles when you place in fell races in UK? 😄
Hi Tom, all fell races are different, some are easier and particularly marked, some are more difficult and need navigation skills, and not always on the obvious paths. They are only cheap to enter (about £5) and quite often on the day. They are not organised for profit but mostly for local charities. That's why the prizes are not very elaborate. The beer and wine is quite often donated by people who support the organisers. The first, second and third prizes are also very often either money or sports vouchers. I only capture things because I am a slow runner, I also film on my phone, I don't have any specific equipment or any any technical knowledge.
The intense terrain, elevation, and the sheer wildness of the race make it sound like a one-of-a-kind experience. I can only imagine the incredible rush of emotions and the sense of accomplishment you must feel when conquering those challenging miles. Kudos to Daniel Taylor for organizing such an epic event! Thanks for sharing Olga!

Thank you, David, you are too kind. They are faster, but I want to do this route again without messing about, no filming just pure running/climbing, so I can see how fast I can do it. I won't do it in a race, might just come and do it as a training route. It's so good there and nobody goes there.

@@shirleyboy8859 hands free camera is basically a GoPro. I will end up with loads of footage that I will need to process on a computer software. It will take ages and I don't have a software or proper laptop. Plus you can't zoom in on a GoPro, it's kind of irritating how it zooms everything out so things can fit in but by doing that it makes everything flattened and small with masses of sky instead. I don't like it that you can't control what you are filming. With the phone, I can zoom in or zoom out on whatever I want to film. And I don't want my life to be consumed by making videos. I just do the run without filming it. I want to try and do a good time and do it properly.
Looks like you had a lot of fun. Some great footage of lots of my friends and club mates (todmorden) 😊 I've run round the route with Dan when he was still designing it but never got round to racing it. Hopefully next year maybe 🤞

Very nice place to run. That section about 15:32 was tough
