Actually it doesn't, the first amendment of our constitution which was brought by chicha nehru in 1951 (when he wasn't even elected by the people) itself says that you can curb people's freedom of speech whenever you want and then you have section 295A which is a blasphemy law in a so called secular country. So let me correct you, India never had freedom and I don't think that we'll ever have that without scraping this foreign constitution.

Saideepak's opinion is relevant and thought provoking .Indeed his debate does evoke the salient features of our constitutional provisions, probably legal luminaries may be able to understand better than common citizens like most of like us.
The judges assets must be made public and their political leanings,and their qualifications with marks sheet , before appointing them a public hearing must be conducted,about their professional life.

Even though I'm still personally trying to fully understand how biased and power-hungry the judiciary is, the way it hands out "contempt of court" charges definitely is a strong indication of the same. I find it quite funny, as well as quite worrying that criticising the supreme court even with due respect and in a totally non-offensive manner will still earn one a contempt of court charge simply because the sensitive judges don't like to be reminded of how they should properly conduct their duties.
Because it's 75yrs+ older British ideology to suppress Indians pre independence.. Nothing ever changes or changed in judiciary since then.. BJP gave out provisions against collegium but it was quickly rejected by these judges/lawyers gangs

Modi called himself Pradhan Sewak because he is humble enough to admit that the legitimacy of his power comes from the people of this democratic nation who elected him to perform that task, and he is remunerated for his work by those people through the taxes they pay. The Judiciary ought to remember that they too receive their remuneration from the people of this nation and are Sewaks of the people. The Judiciary must draw its legitimacy from the people of this nation, and therefore, the elected representatives of the people must play a part in their appointments to ensure legitimacy. The judiciary cannot be seen as an autonomous dictatorial Aristocracy only answerable to itself and free to interfere with the functions of the executive at their whims and fancies without any political accountability to the people of this democratic nation.

The country's judicial system needs to be overhauled... Judges are eager to hear low ticket cases of big people and vast majority are kept waiting for years, decades and for ever. Why do some SC & HC judges have contempt against Hindus, Indian culture, heritage , Hindu rituals, practices etc... and make political statements, orders where as they are mum on minority appeasement, malpratices etc... Executive should break the ongoing judge selection criteria and the collegium syste. Judges should not think they are bigger than others and their judgements are always right... You are not law, you are like other citizens of nation having a job, paid by taxpayers. Bow your head to the people of the country...
