Yes, the word oxygen invented by the human. So it is very logical to say human existed before the word was invented.
If I accept it that hindu was not existing before and there was Shivaism, even then nothing is changing. Suppose some years ago I called you by a different name and now I call you by an another different name but you be the same person. So no problem is there. I think the problem lies in the different place. Probably we perceiving the words or names differently.
