This will help you to reach Far-out Hotspots and resources.

When using the build cam extension glitch I usually just have the character standing on a ship.
That way your character won't fall though the terrain even if you to too far

One of the final story missions where I had to warp 16 times took be to a planet with a glyph portal on top of a snow capped mountain with just the right amount of trees. Cliffs surrounding it dropping into deep valleys below and mountains going up the other side at least 1000 U higher than my base computer all around. Up in the sky is a ring planet with a moon. It has blizzards and at dusk, the valleys are absolutely beautiful. I dropped a base computer on that fast. I found my retirement home base.

A good use for extending, is to overlap with a settlement, you can even have supply depots right next to the docks or market place to make selling easy. Storage containers are also available from anywhere inside the base limit. Great video, thank you!

If you're trying to do this it doesn't seem to work like it used to, I was able to get it to work by placing as many blocks outside the zone as I could and reloading then and only then would the base expand
Thank you this method worked for me just use a save beacon intermittently and the base will expand after reloading. Maybe a ps4 problem?

For some reason it worked the first time I tried this but not the second time
At the end of the video I explain this can happen, normally saving and reloading at the base should fix it.

was this recently patched out? im currently attempting to use this glitch on my activated indium farm but am stuck at the limit of 300 units even though i have placed several structures outside of the 300 unit limit. i still have 500 units to go so theres no way i can just long arm the placements on the power
Just to let you know it hasn’t. If you reload an auto save you should be back in business. I had the same issue and it worked after that
This is very Informative, the question i have is how can you keep another player from extending into your base area ? I had this happen a few times on my extractor bases.
Sadly this is an issue, we had many trolls doing this on purpose to ruin our bases. If you have people blocking your base or ruining it, you can report their base, and it will disappear for you.

I have a farm that’s 1200u in diameter. in order to reach both the mineral and power hotspot.

I built a farm but the power hotspot was too far so I made the noob mistake of building 2 bases thinking you could connect between them. Took me ages to work it out that it wasn't going to work.
I'm desperately trying to get enough credits to buy a A class freighter. I'm still on a C class. Farming sentinel ships and selling them is getting me a lot of credits.
I'm building a activated indium farm as I found a A class deposit but power is an issue.

I would avoid building Activated Indium Farms - if making money is the goal.
All Stellar Metals value were nerfed after the Waypoint Release.
Gold is currently the most valuable Minable Ore.

It can happen that the BC does not register your location, as explained in the video, when that happens, Save and Reload the game, that should solve the issue.
An idea I had was to chain 3 bases together so i could extend a wire for power along that length. Unfortunately it didn't work, the good news is the wiring went whole way, however the power stopped when leaving the range of one base and into the limits of the others. My idea is to use this concept (if it hasnt been patched out already) to bridge between the zones and build a few batteries to transfer over the power.
If this all works out It'll mean I can build across the whole planet 👽

It is, but be aware you can only upload 1 of your bases to the NMS server.
So only one base will be visible for visitors.

I, personally, most of the time use the building camera so I never actually leave the base building area. When I hit the camera limit I just double-tap the camera button and I can continue building even outside the base limits and as far from the base as I want to. ^^
Lol, but not for 1000 u... haha... Especially if you need to pull cables and pipes along the route every time. 😉

When I stand next to the wall it doesn't let me build anymore, what am I doing wrong? It's not 1000u away, it's right outside the normal 300u radius
Update: I tried reloading an autosave and it worked perfectly. Reloading really does fix everything lol

I thought I knew this game after playing 6 years now.
I have a trick question. I did some testing with the build camera exploit and pushed on its limits. Currently, the build camera exploit allows you to push the base boundaries way past the in-game restrictions set by the devs to an insidious maximum of ~5,000 to 6,000 u from your character's fixed position. This is a huge distance that trolls use to trash other players' bases. For reference, every 1,250 u is the equivalent of 4 minutes and 58 seconds of walking distance. The one exception that I found from testing this nasty exploit (and this is a very big one) is for the base computer. As of the Leviathan update, the base computer is the only base part where the game restricts you from moving the piece past the 1,000 u boundaries. Now if the devs were to implement this restriction for all the other base pieces and not just for the computer, then once the devs add discovery uploading restrictions to base builders, the exploit would be indirectly patched out and there would be no more long distance griefing. Out of curiosity, can you at least experiment with the base computer in contrast with the other base pieces as a placeholder for what is needed for base building?
can you use any building part to extend your base or are those only some specific ones? i usually just use the building camera "glitch" to go further

Question about relocating the base computer:
I placed the initial base computer sort of "out of the way", not where the center would be.
With that in mind, should I start a new base all over?
Or is there a way to "save" my work and carry that over to a newly placed base computer? (a new base).
Other questions would be:
How many resource deposits could be in a 2000u diameter?
What's the number of total allowed building pieces for 1 single base in 2023 (now)?
Are there any building pieces that do not count to this? (wires, lights etc.)
Can we connect or overlap multiple bases to increase the limits?
Can we use multiple player saves or accounts to have more building capacity?

1) You can not change the center of your Base anymore once the base computer has been placed and claimed, so if you want the center to be elsewhere, you will need to delete the base and build it again where you want it.

3) You are allowed to build 16000 parts in one save, be it over different bases or in one base. BUT, you can only upload bases to the Hello Games servers that is below or equal to 3000 parts.
4) All parts count towards the part count, no exceptions.
5) You can only upload one base - per planet - per account... the last uploaded base is the one that will be visible.
6) You can use another account to build a 2nd base-computer and expand your base, but be aware that this sometimes causes one base not to load up.

Thanks so much for the guide. I’m having a problem. I used Capped Standing Lights to extend my base, to create a lit path to the extended areas. However, upon reloading, I no longer have building rights in the extended areas, even right next to the lamps. Am I doing something wrong? Do some items not work as well as others for extending the base area?

Full admission I am a new player so it is probably me messing up. I can't get this to work (playing on PC through Steam). I can place one wall farther out but then I simply cannot chain it any farther than that. I must be missing something in the process but be darned if I can figure out what.

Hello beebs, i just bought the game for the second time on Nintendo switch. Tried your method, i can build past boundaries with the camera, but base is not expanding, i tried building many things, walls, lamps, rooms, does not matter. Maybe they fixed it with the last update? Or is it just switch features?
I need to try it on a switch and see, but it should still work after the update.
Just to make sure, the expansion of the base only works in the direction you build, not as a radius (if that makes sense).
I wish you could put a base computer down and if it collided with another one of your bases it would ask if you would like to link them or something
Hi, I got an issue and kind of confusing. So the problem is I built a pathway to the north of my base, then I build a ramp on an island south to the base, then I found out, what I’ve built on the north side of the base, cannot add new stuff, the game indicates that I have already out of the base range. May I ask how shall I fix it so I can build something on north side again?

So if I have two hot spots and they are 650u apart from each other, Can I place the base computer between the both of them then just extend the default radius of the base computer? Is that distance also too far for consoles too load?
I have a problem. I already built generators at a Hotspot also about 700u away from my base. Now I need more energy and I just can't build there anymore. Do you have a tip to fix this?
Yesterday, I got back to my base and the base computer was missing xD The base icon was floating 2 meters in the air at the correct position but the computer just isn't there. I already tried: reloading a save, restarting the game, saving and reloading, but it's still missing. Did that happen to anyone else? Or does anyone know, how can I get my base computer back? :D Cheers
Was the Base computer on the planets surface or was it a low orbit?
If it was on the planets surface, try warping to another system, save and reload and then teleport or warp back.

No, the walls are just there to keep the extension as long you need it.
Once your base is finished, you can remove the walls.

Not sure if I understand it right, but this technique still works.
If you have issues with extending, be sure to save and reload at the base (as explained at the end of the video) to reset the restrictions.

Be sure to save and reload the game in case you can not extend your base.
does someone know how to change the default sensitivity of the game? is too high.
On Console you can adjust the look sensitivity in the settings, on PC it should be called mouse-sensitivity.

@@ramsesxix4492 There are 2 Limits in Building. One is the Upload Limit, which is 3000 parts, the other is the overall build limit per save, which is 16000.
I think I have seen some people use mods to change the overall limit, but I am not sure if these still work, as they are very old.
Also, you can not change the upload limit, as that is linked to the NMS servers.

This is stupid. We all have problem with base distance. Why they just not extend limit? We have to use stupid gliches cuz they design game with big distsnces between power end resource.
