I really hope they give us a new Spyro game soon. Crash 4 was absolutely amazing in my book! It not only gave us the classic game play (even keeping tech from the old game like sliding off a ledge and still being able to jump), but it also experimented and let us play with other characters. The story was also great and was a blast to play through! Hopefully, with a new Spyro game, they can give us a new experience while also keeping the charm of the old game without said charm holding their hands throughout the journey.

The timeline of events is baffling to this day. Vicarious visions makes the N-Sane trilogy, including a brand new level made for the collection just to show they can make their own crash game. I'm just a bit sad that they lessened or even removed the horror aspect of Scorches design in the Reignited Trilogy. That bosses design was nightmare fuel for me as a kid. And I loved it. Also it is kinda sad that Spike was so easy in the remaster when he was one of the hardest in the PS1 trilogy. At least Gulp remained the different boss fight that he is. Even more so if you go for the flawless skill point challenge without the super flame breath power up from getting 100% in a different play through.

@@lk_3099 Yeah. I do think they should have a remake of The Legend of Spyro with a new Spyro 4/5 in the works and such, to appease all fans of Spyro, not just the classics.
Spyro 2 is my all time favorite game and I remember being haunted by the popcorn catching and the earth shapers as a little kid. With Reignited these two felt easier somehow but THE FREAKING CRYSTAL GLACIER SPIDERS had me on the edge of tears. Actually evil.

I grew up on and loved the original Spyro trilogy, and when I was younger 3 was by far my favourite and I held that view for many years based on memory, and I was so excited to play these! So it has been a few years since I played it, I think it was 2018-2019, and I only played the Reignited Trilogy the once. Certain changes bothered me with characters and such, or even enemies not feeling as intimidating or scary looking, I also feel although this had its own feel and vibe, the old versions had their own that wasn't replicated, like with the toxic goo and such. I also felt that the flying mechanics were a lil floaty, and things were glitchy. Although my biggest issue, and why I haven't replayed them again yet, isn't anything to do with the Reignited Trilogy but the games themselves. So besides 1 or 2 levels, I enjoy playing through the first one, you can run through the levels in pretty much one continuous line, everything feels fluid, fun, it's short, nothing is really too bad, I wouldn't mind 100%ing that again. Number 2 I enjoy a lil less, it has things I prefer to number 1, it definitely has its positives and strong points and really adds some great things, but trying to 100% it can feel a bit eh as some things are really tedious, difficult, or just not fun to do repeatedly. Then there's 3. Again, there are things I love and enjoy, and it has a few strong points, but my god it is almost the sole thing that puts me off replaying these games. There is so much to do, so many things are difficult but not for the right reasons, so many things are fiddly, annoying, tedious, aggravating, and just unpleasant to play, there are moments/side challenges in that game I literally dread and find horrible to play even once, so going it repeatedly? I mostly enjoyed my time playing the first 2, but by the end of 3 I felt like I was working my way through a check list for the sake of being a check list and was just so done with it. I (mostly) like the beginning world but then after that I just drop off But with all that said, it still was mostly fun over all, it really was a beautiful game, I had so much joy and memories flooding through me playing it, there was so many things I was excited to see and relive, and the games really do suck you into the world and make it all real. Also, yeah, whether I liked it or not, you gotta give them credit that they didn't just do the same thing 3 times but instead always added new mechanics, play styles, and ideas, and each game feels uniquely distinct from the other with completely different worlds and levels that never really feel repeated, and they deserve credit for that! I will miss replaying the originals as I sorta have lost the ability to do so, they have their own feel, and as you said, in the remasters some things are harder and some are easier. But I think these are a more than serviceable remake that sufficiently satisfy wanting to replay these games! So while I had issues, mainly with 3, and even after almost 5-6 years I am in no rush to replay them, I really did enjoy them and am happy they were remade to relive the magic!
I had the original Ripto’s Rage on PlayStation. Played the crap of it as a kid. When I saw it was remastered, I had to get it. The game is still so much fun.
I am currently playing through Ripto's Rage again. And I had forgotten that I had 100% it the last time so I have superflame now. It has been a blast just running through and destroying everything in my path. Though it has made other areas where the more widespread shape of the regular flame is better more difficult, since it is harder to hit the target. Like the bungee jumpers and pidgons in Metro Speedway. Love these games. I believe the Reignited Trilogy has the 4 highest amount of hours put into it on my Switch.
This is one of the most surprising games to never get another sequel added with how loved the remake were. I think visually they are one of the most fun and detailed games still with its cartoony style, and has a really solid foundation for where they could take it. Will add, I do appreciate that this game made me Feel Things for the redesigns of some of the dragons. Bubba, Nestor, and Gavin most of all,,, sighs longingly
this game has been out for 5 whole years and we STILL do not have a Spyro 4. yet Crash Bandicoot gets all the spotlight while Spyro is demoted to being a secondary character only appearing in spinoff games
Spyro is one of my all time favorite franchises next to crash bandicoot and it felt like my favorite team won the world series when they announced the spyro reignited trilogy. Winter tundra is my fave homeworld in spyro 2
Wow, it is really surprised to see this vid after commented about Spyro on your previous vdo. At that time, it was so fun to see you verifiy the information about Reignited Triloguy and we finally got the game.
Great Video, I actually came across your channel through recommended during the whole teasing of Spyro Reignited. Have stuck around, I also love the mention of European Title of Ripto's Rage, as Gateway To Glimmer, being in Australia that was the title I grew up with.
I do wish I could go back and see your old Spyro videos/fan mail unboxing stuff again :( I know they're not really relevant anymore but I like watching old stuff. Especially cause you unboxed one of my fan mail once and sometimes I wish I could rewatch that video 😂your reaction was awesome.
I grew up on the OG trilogy from age 4-6 when they were coming out and always amazed me at the creative worlds that Insomniac developed on the PS1. I had to wait a year to get Spyro Reignited Trilogy as it wasn't on PC or Switch initially, and I didn't have a supported console to play it on at the time of release. I have since gotten the game on PC (my primary method of choice), Switch (to share with others who have the game and if I'm on the road), and the PS4 recently as a backup option My thoughts on Reignited itself: It's overall very solid. There are little things that I wish they kept or didn't change, I'm not crazy about the paint guns in Twilight Harbor, the dumbing down of some of the bosses kind of stink, and some of the voice direction is a little awkward; but I'm happy overall that this is available for both fans of the original trilogy, and for those who have never played them in the first place to get to try it for the first time, even better for those who grew up on the original games introducing it to their kids now. My ideas for a "Spyro 4" is pretty unclear. I want something akin to what we got with Crash 4 It's About Time, something that allows for creativity in a new world and new plot, but doesn't feel that different from how the Reignited Trilogy played. I don't know if I want the group of "animal buddies" that we get in Spyro 3 so it can be more focused on Spyro, but hopefully the energy Toys For Bob and associated devs will bring us something amazing. We did have sequels for Spyro's original trilogy to weak/mixed reception, and I do understand how Insomniac got burned out on the ideas for Spyro; I just hope whatever the ideas for a sequel come to be; it's the best of the past and all that's been learned since then; and remains in the spirit of the entire franchise itself.
While i would love a new spyro game entirely, I can’t help but wish for Dawn of the Dragon to be remade. Its been my favorite for a while, and i would really love to see a revamped Cynder along with Malefor.
As for the sequel, i honestly think Dragonfly had the right idea by playing around with spyro's breath weapon.... just... we need that done well this time.
Thanks for making this, such a great video and a handy reminder of all the levels. First game is my fave for mainly nostalgia but also the open worlds , then 3 followed lastly by 2.
Yeah, it took me a bit of trial & error to realize that the trick to not getting hit by Gulp's energy orb attack worked different in this game than the original. If you try to run in a straight line to get away from it, you always get hit by the last one, but you can dodge by running in a smaller circle.
As someone who literally just played the “Trouble with the trolley minigame” for the first time yesterday I’ll say it was really wasn’t that bad and I got it on my fifth try
I grew up playing the originals they were so much fun back then although i have never gone back to them and after recently finishing the Reignited Trilogy i somewhat want to play the originals again especially since as a kid there was this one dragon i could hear but could never reach but in the Reignited Trilogy i got that dragon without even knowing it anyways Spyro Reignited Trilogy was a true return to the real Spyro after Year of the Dragon i never cared for the other Spyro games and when Skylanders came out i was convinced that Spyro was dead and never coming back so when i heard about Spyro Reignited Trilogy i was excited to see Spyro get revived sure it's not a new game but it was still what i wanted out of Spyro now i am hopeful that we might get a sequel Spyro that will not be a remake but a brand new game that i could have fun playing as for my detailed thoughts on the Reignited Trilogy i don't have much to say on the first 2 but Year of the Dragon i didn't care much for Sgt. Byrd levels part of the fun of Spyro is how much freedom you have controlling him but Sgt. Byrd wasn't like that at first i had fun with the skateboarding parts of the game but when i reached Lost Fleet they stopped being fun and instead became annoying i think the most annoying part of the game was fighting the Twin Dragons in Fireworks Factory it was hard for me to hit them and because they regenerate it made it worse i agree with you on the backtracking parts of the game as well as the spider hunting in Crystal Glacier
As a kid i preferred spyro 2 over 1 because the worlds were more interesting and had more fun stories and characters. Now im older the first one is my favourite because the huge focus on platforming.
playing these remakes for the very first time as i never got to play the originals and the only spyro games i really grew up with were Spyro orange (Dont ask), Season of Ice and Flame, and Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. I must say the trilogy is pretty good and i do like how unique spyros moveset is compared to other platformer mascot i hope to see a Spyro 4 that goes for a more back to basics apporach like how crash 4 did
Spyro 2 would probably have been my favorite growing up, except for one very real fact. Every copy of Spyro, no matter whichever game 1 2 or 3, that I got as a kid, I played SO MUCH that they ended up breaking. I still have my 3RD copy of Spyro 3, since it was the newest one and I couldn't just buy every single game over and over, it ended up being my favorite by default.
The Spyro trilogy were my favorite games as a kid and remain so to this day. The remakes were almost as close to perfection as a faithful remake can be, with a few personal gripes of things I prepared in the original. But the main two things that bothered me the most was that the team seemed to completely drop any support for the game past fixing some initial save bugs, while completely ignoring blatant glitches that have desperately been needing patched. The second thing which makes me so sad is that in Spyro 3 (my personal favorite game). They set all the bosses to easy mode (originally the game had dynamic difficulty that would make the bosses much more interesting and difficult) which just makes them so unsatisfying to fight, if nothing else I would keep all the bugs if only I could have my big bad bosses back! But still nonetheless I adore reignited!
Seeing some of these levels and characters makes me realize... I never actually *finished* the third game in this remake. I think I got through a few levels of evening lake, but then had to take a break for some other stuff and just.. never got back to it. Soon as I find my multi game carrying case that's gotten lost somewhere in my room, I'm playing spyro again.
The lead up to Reignited before and after the announcement was the most excited I’ve ever been for a game or any game/media in my life and I know the Spyro 4 hype would be insane if they did announce something… I do wish a little more time had been spent polishing Spyro 2 & 3 as for me they don’t have the same level of magic as Spyro 1.
That is exactly what I have to say about this game. Of course a lot of thoughts come up, but something somewhere somehow this one stands on out other favorites at the end of it all.
As someone who also grew up with the original trilogy, I would love for a new sequel to just exist. We don't really get platformer collectathon games like Spyro anymore, and even in modern open world games I seldom feel like we are rewarded for exploration as much as we were with Spyro. I love the Reignited Trilogy, and overall I think Games For Bob did an amazing job with it, and right now I feel confident they could make an amazing 4th game if they got the chance. As for the original trilogy itself, I've always found Spyro 2 to be my favourite game, and Spyro 3 to be the weakest entry. I found hunting dragon eggs, and the broken mini-games, to be less rewarding than rescuing the dragons or finding orbs from the first two games, and as much as I love the aesthetic/theming of a number of Spyro 3 levels, they do tend to be on the more bland side of things for me overall compared to the uniqueness of S2's levels and the thematic consistency of S1's levels. Oh, and comparing the originals to the remake... well it's an amazing remake, but I do miss the way a number of the skyboxes looked in the original 2 games (the world just falling away to nothing on the edges of many levels really gave a sense of great height, such as in Clifftown and the S2 homeworlds). Also, is it just me, or did they do something funky to the gliding in the remake? A number of glides I can do effortlessly in the original versions are so much more frustrating in the remakes for some reason (notable examples being the little ledge in Artisons Homeworld in S1 and the secret path in Seashell Shore in S3) and I can't figure out why.
Hell yeah new gaming video. I had a lot of fun with the reignited trilogy when it first came out I played through them all and 100% them but it’s been a while since then I still think I love crash more
This might be a hot take...but I kind of hope they adopt Spyro: Year of the Dragonfly and not only remake it, but clean it up and properly finish it. YotDF had some really fun points, but the game's clear unfinished state made enjoying those moments tedious.
The hard mini games like the two dragons in fireworks level are great! Frustrating and not fun in the same way as others but that’s what makes them so rewarding to beat
I'll admit, I went slightly manic at one point and not only 112% (or whatever arbitrary completion percentage they have for those game) every game, I got all the skill spoints in each AND got every Steam achievement. It is currently the only game I own on Steam were I completed all achievements ... I haven't played any of the games since. My hands were sore for a week straight lmao
My review on the trilogy: it looks and feels how you remember it, nostalgia goggles and all. And if you don't like the new music somewhere, the original bangers are packaged in. Top product for anyone who loves these games, and an excellent introduction for newcomers. Launch was a bit rough on the 3rd game, but that's all fixed up. I think remaking them was sorely needed, to unlock a way forward for a series that has floundered for direction ever since. the sequel was rushed, hero's tail has an identity crisis, Shadow legacy is a complete genre shift, and then we got the Legend trilogy which were great in their own way, and would have probably been well received if there were also classic style Spyro games coming out at the time. It has it sown fans now, but a radical change in direction is never gonna be popular with the at the time existing audience. Then Skylanders was the follow on series from there, and that straight up dropped Spyro to subtitle status before removing him entirely from the lead role. Whatever his next starring role, i think i speak for all of the community in saying we're excited to see it.
Year of the Dragon was always my favourite of the trilogy, at least the Bonus World isn't for the Platinum. As as you say the race is terrible, in fact I used to use and exploit in order to win it in the original PS1 version, which I actually still own. Basically I used to place Spyro in one of the speedboost stars and count to 100 and that gave you unlimited boost and be able to beat the Yeti's and Hunter's tongue won't be frozen. But TFB, left that exploit out, meaning you cannot cheese it and as you say its broken so its not winnable. So I am glad that we didn't have to do the Bonus Round for 100%/Platinum. Cannot say the same for what they decided to do for Crash 4, hit a brick wall with that one.
I loved the PS1 Spyro games when I was little so getting this remake was such a treat. Can't believe it's been five years already. Where does the time go? lol. Also the dogs in the Toasty boss fight still haunt me in my nightmares to this day XD
Spory 3 has been my first, and for the longest time, only Spyro game, and I think it's still my favorite. While I agree that there are some annoying missions, like the escort mission in the dwamp and the dragon fight, I really enjoyed most of the levels and characters. Especially Sheila and Bianca are great. I don't enjoy playing as Bentley though. And yes, a completely new Spyro game would be great.
Ciao bello!
I'm hoping for the Ratchet and Clank and also the Jak games to come to PC. As while I love Spyro and Crash I just want all my old favorite games to come to PC. Was really happy when I found out about both these remakes and they are both made with love and care...Though I will say this the Crash games has a not so good PC port in places.
22:21 Holy fuck I think thats Mike Pollocks voice He (or at the very least, this voice) was in so many commercials back in this day. Especially on Foxbox/4kids TV
I really hated the redesigns for the baby dragons in Spyro 3. In the original, they were adorable and motivated you to save them. While the new designs look goofy.

But with all that said, it still was mostly fun over all, it really was a beautiful game, I had so much joy and memories flooding through me playing it, there was so many things I was excited to see and relive, and the games really do suck you into the world and make it all real.
I was just thinking I should play through the trilogy again. Thanks for the shot of nostalgia.
Goddamn half a decade already. I still remember the wait for it like it was just yesterday.
this game has been out for 5 whole years and we STILL do not have a Spyro 4. yet Crash Bandicoot gets all the spotlight while Spyro is demoted to being a secondary character only appearing in spinoff games
Happy 25th Anniversary٫ Spyro the Dragon!
I have since gotten the game on PC (my primary method of choice), Switch (to share with others who have the game and if I'm on the road), and the PS4 recently as a backup option
My thoughts on Reignited itself: It's overall very solid.
Whenever I go through Wizard Peak
I always find myself singing the “Amanda Show” theme 😅
AAAA-Manda-Manda-Manda-Manda-Manda!
Loved the RT since 2018 and continue to play it about once a year. 🤞 they give us Spyro 4
We're getting Spyro 4 any day now!
playing these remakes for the very first time as i never got to play the originals and the only spyro games i really grew up with were Spyro orange (Dont ask), Season of Ice and Flame, and Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning.
I must say the trilogy is pretty good and i do like how unique spyros moveset is compared to other platformer mascot i hope to see a Spyro 4 that goes for a more back to basics apporach like how crash 4 did
Crash Team Rumble teasing Spyro
I can't say how many times I have replayed this trilogy. I also do yearly playthrougus of the Spyro trilogy lol
Okay, but I JUST played through this a month ago. Damn, that’s cool timing!
my only issue was not keeping all original voice cast
Spyro 2 would probably have been my favorite growing up, except for one very real fact. Every copy of Spyro, no matter whichever game 1 2 or 3, that I got as a kid, I played SO MUCH that they ended up breaking. I still have my 3RD copy of Spyro 3, since it was the newest one and I couldn't just buy every single game over and over, it ended up being my favorite by default.
Just watched your original video! Wild 🎉
My favorite game that got me into really games when I was kid! I played though the trilogy so many times as an adult!
I remember like it was yesterday. We are overdue for a new spyro game.
Glad to see spyro content again
For the Gulp boss fight, if you run in a circle his projectiles will never hit you :D
Ahhh joining the Waiting for Spyro 4 train huh 😎
The lead up to Reignited before and after the announcement was the most excited I’ve ever been for a game or any game/media in my life and I know the Spyro 4 hype would be insane if they did announce something… I do wish a little more time had been spent polishing Spyro 2 & 3 as for me they don’t have the same level of magic as Spyro 1.
It's so nice to hear you talk about spyro again my dude. Been with ya since 2017! I hope you're doing well taking care :D
My favorite game character of my childhood ❤. We need a new one microsoft!
Ripto’s Rage is one of my all time favorite games
Just started this series for the first time. It's really fun. I'm on the first one
Got this in 2018, only ever beaten the first, just now finally finishing ripto’s rage, and haven’t started year of the dragon yet
I do really enjoy the Legends of Spyro trilogy. I hope that Cynder comes in a sequel.
It is currently the only game I own on Steam were I completed all achievements
I would like to see a return of the elemental powers, introduce characters like Cynder and Malefor into the OG canon.
Its Year of the DRAGON! We need a new Spyro game! :(
Year of the Dragon was always my favourite of the trilogy, at least the Bonus World isn't for the Platinum.
A Catbat is the final evolution of a Slugcat
Legit my favourite trilogy growing up with a ps1 so these games are just 5 stars for me.
Really resent that I understood the Subway reference.
"it's been five years since the Spyro Reignited Trilogy"
yeah, okay, didn't realize it's been that long. time sure flies
"2018"
WHAT
I loved the PS1 Spyro games when I was little so getting this remake was such a treat.
I had a funny bug on the switch version where I started the alchemist quest on accident and then walked away and then he completed it by himself
I got the Platinum trophy for Spyro 1 yesterday and just reached Autumn Plains on Spyro 2 I will get the Platinum trophy for that and Spyro 3.
It was only yesterday.
Looking forward to spyro 4
Brooooo did my boi Chaddington Fringe just upload a NEW Retrospective video on Spyro??
I still play it everyday I love it 😊
we NEED spyro 4!!
FIVE YEARS?!?
Wouldn’t it be dope if the in house TFB composer used the spyro soundfont on the next game?
I'd DIE to have a remake of heros tail!
22:21
Holy fuck I think thats Mike Pollocks voice
He (or at the very least, this voice) was in so many commercials back in this day. Especially on Foxbox/4kids TV
That's saying something when the hardest boss in Spyro 3 becomes the easiest boss in the Reignited version.
I really enjoyed my time with this trilogy. I wonder if Spyro 3 got updated; it was fun but kind of a glitchy mess when I played it.
Hope To Soar In SPYRO 4
Oh hey it’s a game I got recently 😊
I really hated the redesigns for the baby dragons in Spyro 3. In the original, they were adorable and motivated you to save them. While the new designs look goofy.
It's nostalgia for the awful graphics on the original that allows your mind to fill the gaps.
