But of course he does. He's one of God's children like the rest of us he's helping us get through a lot of our heartache and our pain to realize things that we've seen in our lives and make us better there's a positive in all of it you just have to look at it brother
Chris Stapelton... I am a 62 y/o nurse. My 33 y/o son introduced your music to me.! You are so incredible. I mean you my far exceed all others. I love waking up in the morning and jamming to your music!! Thank you so so much ;)
Chris is doing what Johnny used to do back in his days. He takes an amazing song and makes it better. Makes it his own. Loved this tune when Willie sang it, but damn this one just brings tears to my eyes.
I agree with you that he sings well and makes most songs better, but not in this case. I like Willy's version better and this makes me miss Trigger also. Willy's guitar sings a duet with him.
Willie is probably my all time favorite country artist. His version of this was and is remedy. I never thought anyone could do it better, then I heard this. In the last 24 hours I've probably played this about 500 times, maybe more, maybe less. I don't even know. I've just been lost in it, writing some poetry that makes me feel dead and alive all at the same damn time. Chris is a legend in the making. When God created this man the first mission he gave him was to sing people back into healing.

Chris makes every song his own, whether it is one he wrote or a cover of someone else's hit. Everything that comes out of his mouth is solid country gold!
Jamey Johnson did before him. Jamey had song of the year in Color, that wasn't even on an album!! But Chris is great and this is my favorite Willie song!
There is not a song that Chris sings that I do not like. but I LOVE this song as well as his "Fool Me Again" Man can Chris sing and some of his instrumentation now is from Willie Nelson's group and sounds wonderful as it does with Willie. . I am praying that we are all Raptured . Can you imagine eternity listening to Willie and Chris and Johnny and Kris and the other Outlaws. God loves them and so do I!

My all time favorite Willie song. My jaw dropped the first time Chris's version popped up on my playlist. He is absolutely phenomenal. Had no idea he did a remake. Love it.
Does he live the outlaw lifestyle or just play the music? Really think about that too. They were all REAL outlaws, by definition and everything. I respect Chris a lot and love his music but I wouldn't consider him an outlaw.
One of the few covers of a classic song I'm truly glad exist. It's a beautiful rendition that honors the emotion of the original and adds its own feeling. High praise indeed in this generation of crap-ass covers that do nothing but shame both itself and the original masterpiece.

I was playing this song today and came here to hear Willie, then I stumbled upon and listened to Chris Stapleton do massive justice to this song...safe to say I'm a fan of this man now. Damn!
You have done a great job on this song and on Broken Halos!! I can't wait for your new album! I loved your Traveller album!! Thanks for bring country music back, Chris! I hope to meet you one day! I'm a big fan of yours!
I am so blessed to be allowed to hear more C.S. music. He is one of the few to still carry the old spirit. He is young enough to have enough influence over a long period. I am hoping anyway.
wut made me start listening to this was my mom called me and asked me if I heard his song Either Way and I said no mam and she told me to pull it up on my phone and listen to it because that was her and Glen song .After 19yrs together I broke down balling with deep sadness listening to the song like my heart breaks for her. Then from there just continue listening to his music adding to my play list. ..
That isn't Country Ya'll, that is Soul, and Blues together. I love your music Chris! I just wrote a beautiful love song, I wish you could sing it for me...so the one I love could hear it as beautifully as I meant it to be!
The last thing I needed. The first thing this morning.... Chris's words resonate deep and ring true in whatever he is singing or writing. Thanks man for doing it right.

The postman delivered
A "past due" bill notice
The alarm clock rang two hours late
The garbage man left all the trash
On the sidewalk
And the hinges fell off of the gate
And this morning at breakfast
I spilled all the coffee
And I opened the door on my knee
Oh the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
Last night you came home late
And I knew you'd been drinking
By that old mellow look on your face
I thought, "It don't matter
Because it's the holiday season"
And you fill such a big empty space
But then I laid down beside you
And I wanted your loving
Because your love makes my life complete
Oh the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
So excuse me for looking
Like my world just ended
And excuse me for looking
Like I just lost my best friend
And excuse me for loving
Being forgiving
Just go on if you want to be free
But the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
Oh the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me

So,proud of our KY guy. Welcome Back Home today Chris. Congrats on your name being put on US 23 today also. ♡♡♡
I was raised in Morgan co. all my life and I am proud to say Chris is a Ky boy Hell Yeah he`s Awesome!!!!!!
Ky!!!!!
Love it !!!!!! He's the greatest person to listen to when shits on your mind
Jake S yes indeed😻😍💗😘
Doing that right now..good stuff man
Jake S YES JAKE...MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY.
Freaking AMEN man. Just driving around late at night, blasting Chris, and contemplating your life. Am I right?
I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert last Saturday, He is amazing!
Hank, Merle, Johnny, George, Waylon, Willie, meet the next country outlaw legend.
And this is an old Willie Nelson song. :)
Technically Gary nunn wrote this song, but willie released it
He got a brother now called Larry Fleet, He's pretty good
Does he live the outlaw lifestyle or just play the music? Really think about that too. They were all REAL outlaws, by definition and everything. I respect Chris a lot and love his music but I wouldn't consider him an outlaw.
Wouldn't be American to not stop what your doing to listen to it.
True true 🇺🇸
Artemio Alfaro most definitely
Agreed! 🇺🇸
🇨🇦
I didn’t know you had to be American to enjoy country music
Amen!!!--This is truly real music!!
One of the few covers of a classic song I'm truly glad exist. It's a beautiful rendition that honors the emotion of the original and adds its own feeling. High praise indeed in this generation of crap-ass covers that do nothing but shame both itself and the original masterpiece.
One of my all time favorite Willie Nelson songs! Chris' voice is perfect for this one!
The postman delivered
A "past due" bill notice
The alarm clock rang two hours late
The garbage man left all the trash
On the sidewalk
And the hinges fell off of the gate
And this morning at breakfast
I spilled all the coffee
And I opened the door on my knees
But the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
Last night you came home late
And I knew you'd been drinking
By that old mellow look on your face
I thought, "It don't matter
Because it's the holiday season"
And you fill such a big empty space
But then I laid down beside you
And I wanted your loving
Because your love makes my life complete
But the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
So excuse me for looking
Like my world just ended
And excuse me for looking
Like I just lost my best friend
And excuse me for loving
And being forgiving
So just go on if you want to be free
But the last thing I needed
The first thing this morning
Was to have you walk out on me
Breighanna
Damn thats my life everyday
I'm Postman delivering a past-due notice the hinges falling off of a gate Trashman leaving garbage everywhere is not as important as the love of your life leaving something other words the song was stating is that although these happened they all could be fixed but your true love walking out of your life it can't be fixed
Great song. I was amazed that Chris outdid George Jones on Tennessee Whiskey. I truly enjoy Stapleton's music, but Willie Nelson can't be beat on this song
I loved this song when Willie Nelson did it and as with anything Chris does he knocked it outta the park.
@@jackieeastridge9420 I prefer the original by Gary P Nunn and The Lost Gonzo band. But Chris did an excellent job on his version.
True country. Love this man. Been a country fan since the fifties when Willie had short hair and wore a suit!
Just got home from your concert in Roanoke Va....WOW, there just aren't enough words to describe how awesome and talented you are. What a night...Thanks for sharing your music with us. Can't wait to see you again and until then, I will keep on listening to your music. One of my best nights ever!!!
Helen Martin me too Helen!!
It was AWESOME! !?
Helen Martin WHAT??? THAT CLOSE TO ME AND I MISSED IT. OMG NOOOOOO
I got see him in March when he played in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I've been going to concerts for 40 years and his was the best I have ever been lucky enough to attend. But I also have to give a huge shout out to his sound crew - they did an amazing job and the sound was perfect :)
Going to see him tonight in L.A. at the Forum I can't wait! 😆🤠
Can't wait to see him in October!
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace.
I am always stuck listening to 80s - early 2000s country, because i like COUNTRY. Finally glad that there is some new COUNTRY music again.

Not bad at all! First time I've heard this cover of a willie Nelson classic, moved me, brother.
I love Chris and his music! He's an original even when he is covering a song.
Willie Nelson - Last Thing I Needed First Thing This Morning, both are beautiful. Love this..
You have written songs for so many others, it is wonderful to hear you sing your own songs. A bluesy country sound. Thank you for sharing!

The GOAT at his finest
I was 25 years old when doctors diagnosed my asthma. This song helped me to overcome that hard times.
Thank you Neil Young.
One of the best songs of our childhood :D
Hayk Baghdasaryan asthma? Im not putting you down but, everyone and their mother has asthma
If there's a modern-day highwayman hits you mister Stapleton. Our country heroes live on through you....
Thank God for country music
I am so blessed to be allowed to hear more C.S. music. He is one of the few to still carry the old spirit. He is young enough to have enough influence over a long period. I am hoping anyway.
wut made me start listening to this was my mom called me and asked me if I heard his song Either Way and I said no mam and she told me to pull it up on my phone and listen to it because that was her and Glen song .After 19yrs together I broke down balling with deep sadness listening to the song like my heart breaks for her. Then from there just continue listening to his music adding to my play list. ..
this Man & his woman are great. their making their own music history!
Willie Nelson brought me here. And I wasn't even high.
haha. . .
That isn't Country Ya'll, that is Soul, and Blues together. I love your music Chris! I just wrote a beautiful love song, I wish you could sing it for me...so the one I love could hear it as beautifully as I meant it to be!
Who’s still jammin in 2019?

Got to see Chris in concert with my oldest daughter, played for almost 3 hours. Every song was sang with so much soul and perfectly done. Thank you Chris for a wonderful night full of precious memories
The coolness I knowing the harmonica is being played by Mickey Raphael, the man that played this for years with Willie.
Yeah I seen Chris when he was playing the harmonica.
