If you think about music that gets played on the radio, I understand it brings in the money and it pleases the masses... But take a few minutes out of your day to listen to Chris Stapleton. THIS is what it's all about. It's stripped down, it's raw, there's no sound effects, no extra added sugar coated bullshit, this in my mind sounds like real music, and not just the sound, but the lyrical meaning is unbelievably good story telling, just him and his guitar, that's it. That's music to me
There's a ton of good music produced every year in all genres. But most of the good music never gets radio airplay, because the music industry is geared towards pop-ular music with the main target group being teenagers who get sucked into fads. And teens still have a rock n roll mentality, except today it's more of a hip hop mentality. Where your peers might give you shit if you listen to music that actually has a melody and evokes emotions other than rage, hate, greed or machismo.

Thank God for you, your songs put words to the pain a lot of people are feeling who cannot speak their own truth or are to afraid to say them. The people around them just do not sometimes understand how crippling pain and depression can be. Please keep writing and giving us your strength you and Morgane are definitely a gift each other and to us the listening public.
Lol. Exactly what I thought after hearing this the first time. But I think I thought "lonely is the heart that can write beautiful lyrics like this." The sound and conviction in his voice make it exponentially better.
The first time i heard it i was happily in love so i didnt feel the lyrics in the 2 years since ive understood this more than i ever wanted to and i couldn't count the times ive played it
This song doesn't have to be a tombstone for everyone's relationship who's listening to it. For me it's a reminder to let my wife/best friend know that I do love and need her. Doesn't take much really. Just a text out of no where really will mean the world to them.

This song is 99% like my real life...I tried to work on salvaging the marriage, but she didn't want to try. I lost my kids and hardly ever see them. This song sticks with me like glue.
I'm so glad this voice ,, this Man FOUND US. I feel everything as soon as his fingers strum across the strings ,, then BOOM the lyrics come out with that sexy low start that builds and builds till the chorus and they HIT YOU IN EVERY FEEL OF YOUR BODY. !!!! Chris Stapleton can bring it. Thank GOD he brought it to us. We are THE BLESSED ONES. To have someone move me like his music does is a fantastic feeling. Thank you CHRIS. !!!

This song put me on the ground, I felt like if I took a harder breath my ribs would crack into pieces. After 20 years of marriage, I just couldn’t do it anymore. The lyrics perfectly explained the broken heart that I’d had for years but didn’t know how to verbalize it. I couldn’t do it anymore. I mourned the loss of what I’d spent my whole life building. He couldn’t break my heart anymore. I couldn’t cry for him. My heartbreak was because I realized I’d lost the future I thought my life would look like. Growing old together. Watching our children hit each milestone together… it was all gone because I couldn’t stay a relationship with a man who made me believe I was so small, so worthless, any longer. I finally died inside. Didn’t want to but eventually I realized I’d spent more than half of my life fighting for a connection - even just a friendship he never wanted. I was just a box that had been checked off on his list that made him think he looked like he had it all. These words, said absolutely perfectly, were my truth for many years.
Chris Stapleton is one of my favorite artists. I'm 18, and everybody my age just listens to the songs about getting drunk and partying and call it country music. But this is real country music. My grandpa likes this, my dad likes this, I like this, and people for years to come are gonna like this. Thats what real music is.
Ryan, ms stokes is correct; profound. Mentioning lineage and through the ages is really good medicine. Right in there with tn whiskey. Good stuff Ryan.

I hear "I won't love you either way". I think that fits the song better. He spends every verse explaining how their love has vanished and he ends the chorus by telling you can go or you can stay but I won't love you either way.
Chris, I want to thankyou personally for changing the face of country music back to what it originally was and for helping me get a good working relationship with someone. I don't know what I did before you started making records. So, getting down to the wire thankyou for making my life so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Btw can't wait to see u live in Iowa this October

There is no way you cannot love this song. I love Chris and his music but somehow missed this song until the Tyler Perry movie. Chris hits them notes that touch your soul. Man, you can really sing. Keep doing you. God Bless.
My wife has been questioning why I keep singing this song about a failing relationship. I told her it's just so powerful. We're happy as can be but goddamn if this song isn't powerful.

@@chrisstapleton2054 well I'll give you an answer in what she missed because I was quicker! Ronnie Van Zant, Waylon Jennings & you! Guitarist but a better listener! Less than a 1/2 of 1 1/2% it's god-given prodigy! God gave Van Halen his fingers! & he gave you your voice!! & if you don't believe that! You can take that thing you whistle through & plant it!! God bless you Bud....
You ain't heard nothing till you've heard him perform live....no joke his voice is better than it sounds in a studio recording
Lori McKinney seem him love and I agree
Just went and seen him in Cleveland lastnight!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!!
❤
Tyler Perry's movie "Divorce in the Black" brought me here...loved the back of the truck scene..🛻🎵
Clean classic
This song, which consists of his voice and accompanying guitar, is EVERYTHING. Honest, pure and heartbreaking. I get the desire to listen to it more than I (probably) should and each time I do I get goosebumps. Artistically brilliant. 🙏🏼❤️

Beautiful is the lonely heart that makes unforgettable songs like this.💓
.
Lol. Exactly what I thought after hearing this the first time. But I think I thought "lonely is the heart that can write beautiful lyrics like this." The sound and conviction in his voice make it exponentially better.
Damn I wanna meet u
Who played this more then once!😝😝😝😝😝I love him!
🙋♀️
The first time i heard it i was happily in love so i didnt feel the lyrics in the 2 years since ive understood this more than i ever wanted to and i couldn't count the times ive played it
100s of times i love it
Me
At least 150 ties since this extraordinary song was released
His voice just rips through your soul. Love him.
This song doesn't have to be a tombstone for everyone's relationship who's listening to it. For me it's a reminder to let my wife/best friend know that I do love and need her. Doesn't take much really. Just a text out of no where really will mean the world to them.
Chris has the ability to make you feel every word he sings. He’s amazing!

When I hear this, it reminds me of the pain of love and I am so grateful that I tossed that aside many many years ago.
This song is 99% like my real life...I tried to work on salvaging the marriage, but she didn't want to try. I lost my kids and hardly ever see them. This song sticks with me like glue.
Go get your kids do not give up! Lord Jesus Christ got your back!!
Go now
Get up boy go get them now
Become the man your kids will need..Mine are 29- 23, they know mama will show up!!
I'm so sorry ..😢
I'm so glad this voice ,, this Man FOUND US. I feel everything as soon as his fingers strum across the strings ,, then BOOM the lyrics come out with that sexy low start that builds and builds till the chorus and they HIT YOU IN EVERY FEEL OF YOUR BODY. !!!! Chris Stapleton can bring it. Thank GOD he brought it to us. We are THE BLESSED ONES. To have someone move me like his music does is a fantastic feeling. Thank you CHRIS. !!!

I've been divorced 25 yrs. I can't sing this song without choking up. Someday maybe.
😊 If this song makes you cry, she did not deserve you...AT ALL. I pray you find the love you deserve❤
I hope one day you find peace. It's only been 2 years for me and it feels like it gets worse not better
I felt every word you said. Lived it for 18 years. I must say now I have a good life and ask myself daily what took me so long. Hugs friend.
Some folks just cut from a different cloth. Don't follow them my friend.
Ever heard of a song called them stems...ever heard a song called good corn liquor?
Ryan, ms stokes is correct; profound. Mentioning lineage and through the ages is really good medicine. Right in there with tn whiskey. Good stuff Ryan.
This is soul music. You feel every note.
Great taste! Keep it up!
Yep..just found the song that I'll play on repeat for the next month.

You are a diamond, Chris Stapleton! 💜🙏🏼💎
Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine 🥰❤
lyrics: We pass in the hall on our way to separate rooms
The only time we ever talk is when the monthly bills are due
We go to work, we go to church
We fake a perfect life
I passed the point of giving a damn
All my tears are cried
We can just go on like this
Or say the word, we'll call it quits
Baby, you can go or you can stay
But I won't love you either way
It's been so long since I've felt
anything inside these walls
You can't hang, you can't hurt
When you don't feel at all
I used to cry and stay up nights
And wonder what went wrong
It's been hard
But hearts can only do that for so long
We can just go on like this
Or say the word, we'll call it quits
Baby, you can go or you can stay
I won't love you either way
We can just go on like this
Or say the word, we'll call it quits
Baby, you can go or you can stay
But I won't love you either way
Logan Schmaling thank you. You can't help but feel the chorus deeper than the rest.
The last line of the refrain is wrong...It is: But I won't love you either way
Yea, that's a big difference, makes a huge difference to the meaning of the song
I hear "I won't love you either way". I think that fits the song better. He spends every verse explaining how their love has vanished and he ends the chorus by telling you can go or you can stay but I won't love you either way.
there it is edited :) I for one just like reading the lyrics while listening to music. Chris Stapleton is literally the best 🖒🖒
Wow, just wow. That voice just hits so damn hard. Unbelievable.
you have fans in Brazil! love your soulful voice and music. God Bless you

Chris, I want to thankyou personally for changing the face of country music back to what it originally was and for helping me get a good working relationship with someone. Mexico loves you Chris
Victor Medellin Oaxaca in the building. My dad doesn't speak English but absolutely loves Chris. His music crosses the language barrier. So much soul.
Kentucky peckerwood here, can't speak for all Americans, but I LOVE Mexico. Great food, lovely women, superb boxing talent, just a cool ass bunch of people.
The amount of love I have for this man and his voice is unreal.
OnneyWan 4U I'm with you...i feel the same
Yes so touching...
It took me a while to understand why he said "but I won't love you either way" he's broke and numb got to the point where he doesn't care anymore.
Yesss!
She was cruel to him so many times that he doesn't see her the same way anymore. She killed the beauty of what they had by hurting him over and over.
Divorce in the Black brought me here. Loved the song it touches home.
Man.... he is just so good...
Chris you always know how to make me smile when I'm in a bad mood. Thank you CS ! Can't wait to see you when you come to Pittsburgh !

YESSSS this strategically placed single in Tyler Perry's Divorce In Black is REAL & EMOTIONAL..I felt every word. Beautiful. Not sure who or what inspired it...but the lyrics paint the picture/ tell the story...they are beautifully sung ...so Heartfelt.
A new fan of Chris'
It starts like Tennessee whiskey and ends like either way.
You are so very right
Aint that the truth 💯❤💔

Usually starts and also ends with whiskey my friend.
I'm in the worlds most amazing relationship & this song breaks my heart. 😂
Hit like if Tyler Perry's Divorce In The Black bright you here. I already loved Tennessee Whiskey, now I'm in love with this one too!
I've lived the lyrics. This song picks at the scabs of failure. Such a darkness to endure. Thanks, Chris. It's a beautiful reminder that sometimes things just can't be fixed.
Love his voice, love his lyrics, already a legend.
He has a beautiful voice ❤
Gorgeous!!! His voice is full of emotions and soul!!! My goodness!
There is no way you cannot love this song. I love Chris and his music but somehow missed this song until the Tyler Perry movie. Chris hits them notes that touch your soul. Man, you can really sing. Keep doing you. God Bless.
This song and his voice in general gives me so many chills. He’s so good at what he does ❤️
the amount of emotion in his songs is the reason he is my FAVORITE artist.

My wife has been questioning why I keep singing this song about a failing relationship. I told her it's just so powerful. We're happy as can be but goddamn if this song isn't powerful.
