    I watched you video about 2 pm. Searched the net for parts (40 miles away). Got there before they closed. Traveled home with the board and the switch. The board did the trick! Thank you! Didn’t need the switch, no biggie by 9pm I’m cleaning up tools and the dishes are being cleaned and the wife is happy. 👍🏻

    This video was the only one that help me repair my GE PDT825SSJ0SS. It helps you troubleshoot the issue and get rid of this very annoying problem, the constant beeping and the dishwasher not been able to start a cycle. THANK YOU - GREAT VIDEO!

    This was the solution that fixed it, I saved hundreds of dollars. Got the beeping chime and indication the door was open from the diagnostic mode. I replaced the switch with a genuine new one, so I didn't have to test it. The circuit board was the culprit. Thanks Janky Shack

    You are the man! My GDF520PSJ2SS had NO lights or responsiveness. We found and cycled the breaker and nothing. Then I saw the beginning of your video when you said that you had to recycle the breaker many times to get it going for a few months. I recycled the breaker again twice and up she came! Many thanks, you have a grateful subscriber. Hopefully it will not go bad on me but if it does I am buying a better dishwasher. I have installed them in the past and that does not seem much different or more difficult than a major repair. These GE builder-grade DW seem to do down a lot.

    Your advice is right on man. Thank you for running through some basic troubleshooting such as resetting the dishwasher at the breaker panel. I followed your advice and flipped the breaker on and off 5 times leaving the breaker in the on position at the end. You were right that it did reset the door sensor and that allows me to at least run the load inside until I can replace the door latch sensor WD21X10490. Again, thanks for the detailed instruct. Janky, finally a GE like my machine! I replaced the controller board with an old one from my neighbor while waiting for my delivery. His board lights went on, once I flipped the circuit breaker 10x, the START button lit up and it RAN!! I previously took the shield off, then the board out, ran the replacement board while it was hanging, then I could see the lights, they blink when the machine is running. I'm going to order that door sensor wd21x10490 for the future. My machine GDF57oss2ss, board wd21x24901 $99. Thanks, Great info!!

    thank you Sir. The symptoms are exactly like yours. After the reset, the lights were blinking, indicating door not closed but actually it was tightly closed. I ordered a new control board, and followed your instruction and fix my machine!

    Neighbors didn't last, my new delivery came in and was installed-working perfectly. 1) had to unscrew the 110 ac terminal to get proper access, and I did remove the top surrounding shield, on the closing process there was a "lip" on this shield which I ground off which made the install effortless.

    GE recommends not only to replace the board you did, but also the user interface at the same time. Absolute garbage. I’m an appliance technician ( for 39 years )and I see this constantly on 2-4 year old machines sometimes sooner. There is also a resettable thermostat under the dishwasher which will trip. You have to replace the wiring harness to get the thermostat since they solder the wires to the thermostat and also shrink tube it so you can’t even test it. It’s in series with the heating element. You have to pull the dishwasher to even get to it. I wouldn’t recommend an LG or Samsung ever for replacement either. Try a medium or higher end Whirlpool product. You can get away at $700 on sale. Always get the extended warranty with new appliances. Never used to say that, but times have changed and so has manufacturing quality.

    My GE dishwasher, model GDT695SGJBB, has no lights or functionality whatsoever. Tried all scenarios on the service information sheet. Will not enter error mode or service mode. Accessed the main board at the bottom of the door. Service LED light is solid green, wether the door is opened or closed. No flashing pattern. Service information sheet indicates this means the door is closed. Replaced the UI board ( WD21X23426) , still having the same problem. Each board is around $100. Have not priced a latch. Not sure what to do next. Repairman would most likely be a $75 service call plus his time and the part(s). Wondering if I should just replace the other board and latch too🙄?

    • @JankyShack
      @JankyShack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      have you measured the resistance of the latch with a multimeter? according to the internet the latch is a common failure point.

    • @hotrolls3473
      @hotrolls3473 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JankyShack I appreciate your time. Yes. When I check the ohms on each of the pins, it shows 0 when the door is closed. When I initially open the door, each pin reading spikes to anywhere from 1.87-2.47 but then goes immediately to a reading of 1 and does not fluctuate. That not how your ohms readings were registering but I thought since it wasn’t reading 0 that the sensor might still be good.

    I bought my GE dishwasher in 2014 for $950 with in a month I started having this problem I never tried to fix -
    I would press and hold the door for some 30 - 40 seconds that would help
    But now I am having Problem with door hinges
    I guess its not worth fixing as this might cost $350 in parts and $250 in labour
    GE seems to have Inferior & Sub products in every Appliances the make
    compared to other brands
    Really sad to see a Great American company with sub products as this

    • @wrobo
      @wrobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We can thank the politicians for this inferior quality... since GE machines are so cheap to make now, quality has gone bye bye. I do wish there was a big enough movement to bring back, the once great, American manufacturing. Unfortunately, the benefits to stock holders is to make junk amd ride on the GE name. This is very short sighted and GE will crumble like other American innovators... Think Craftsman, Black and Decker, DeWalt, to name a few. I do believe we would pay a bit more for quality Instead the majority of us will buy on the description placard and brand name... Anyway, sorry... this is a really good video, and helped me through my repair... thank you!!

    Don’t really like LG anymore. Bought a sidekick washer and had it for 4 months and they would not replace it. During the 4 months they just kept sending parts for repair. The thing was defective. I had bought a Best Buy warranty on the original purchase and they provided a new washer. Not buying LG anymore.
