They should include a copy of the link to this video with every dishwasher sold, and Matt's address to send him a $20 bill to show appreciation for his wonderful video. Thank you, Matt.
Before i retired, i did probably about a 1,000 + of these repairs, in the last 10 years . In a 40 year career working on GE products, this run of dishwashers was/ is , hands down, the biggest boondoggle they have come up with so far . This model series, has got to have the record for most Factory service bulletins, ever !
Thanks for the info. I changed the control board and user interface and the machine came back to life. I started a wash and cancelled it. Worked great. For 5 minutes. As soon as that ended, it went dark again. I was touching things underneath and it beeped and came back on momentarily. I then took the little plug out of the sump and the panel lit up. I opened the door and closed it and it went off again. Some component is screwing up the electrical system.
Probably the clearest and most thorough DIY video I've ever followed. A HUGE THANKS! You not only showed which parts fit together, but also *how* they fit together.
Was just about to buy a new dishwasher. Other videos said nothjng about the jumpers. I told my wife it was an act of God i came across your video. Put in a new UI and nothing. Saw your video took everything apart again adjusted the jumpers. BINGO! working perfect. Thank a bunch. You saved me about 1k.
My husband and I just finished replacing the motherboard on our GE dishwasher, thanks to you. Your instructions were so good and clear. I appreciate how you led us through the process from take apart, to replace and then put back together. Thank you!
Thank you! Worked for me and my gdt655ssj0ss. After a few months of the weird "random beeping" issue the dishwasher wouldn't respond. I replaced the Control Board first, but after about five minutes of looking like it was fixed, it became totally unresponsive. That's when I read (thanks to some of the responses here) that often both boards go out together. I couldn't pull the trigger right away; since I was unsure whether I should be dumping another $100 into trying to fix it myself. But I finally gave in, thanks to how simple your video made it look. And everything in this video was great, and true. I replaced my User Interface Board in 20 minutes without issue. It's been working for a month now. I can't thank you enough.
Thank you for your excellent video. One thing to add (found out the hard way), if you disconnect the spring nylon cables, hook them in the parking J-hook notches provided just below the pulley. That way the spring will remain under some tension and avoid becoming disconnected from the nylon string end piece.
As a 67 yo woman, I found your video to be extremely helpful. A couple things I found (as I was doing this myself, without help) when removing (1) the T25 hex screws: spray on some silicone spray and let it sit for a while, (2) the inner and outer door: lay the door on its side and loosen from the bottom up. No need for a helper or for a lot of upper body strength. I also found it easier to reattach the inner and outer doors by having them flat on the countertop.
Your video described the issue I was having with my dishwasher. I ordered a replacement user interface control board, followed your instructions on how to nstall it, and my dishwasher is humming away! Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for this excellent video. I had a GE tech out and was told I would need to replace top and bottom PCBs. He said boards would cost 500 dollars and I would be better off buying a new dishwasher. My current one was a little over 3 years old. I found your video, describing the random beeping issue. I located the upper board for a little more than what you paid for yours. Total replacement time was about 45 minutes from start to finish.
Just a useful piece of advice - You don't have to unhook the cables. All you have to do is take out the two 1/4" hex screws at each bottom corner and slightly open the door and it will lift off the hinge assemblies. You don't even need to unhook the water or even pull the dishwasher out from the counter. Can save a bunch of time and effort by not pulling it out.
This sounds promising -- the hinge/door removal seems like the most effortful part of the operation. Which hex screws? The ones that seem to be behind and to the left of the plastic tensioner as seen in the video?
I saw another video showing this but that only seems to work with some models, my hinge system (ddt595ssj2ss) is just like the one in this video. These hinges are attached directly to the rails and will not detach like that unfortunately. I did find a way to remove the door without sliding the unit out though, I commented on that above.
You do have to remove the tensioned clips to get the door off on this model, but you can do it with needle nose pliers if you’re creative and can save a bunch of time.
This video and the one diagnosing the problem was excellent!! I am fairly handy and not afraid to tackle many problems around the house, but I've stayed away from most things that have boards and lots of electrical components. This video made it all very simple and was easy to follow. For about $130 and a couple of hours of my time-I'm retired, I fixed our 3 year old dishwasher. My neighbor had the same problem with their 3 year old GE dishwasher and paid close to $500 for a repairman to replace both control boards. THANK YOU!
I have a much older GE dishwasher, it's from 2003. It's the one that came with the house when I bought it. A builder installed machine. The control panel went out on mines. I had started needing to shut off the power to reset it and it work for a few months doing that, but finally the machine went out. Since the machine is so old, I had to go on eBay to find a factory control board. At least with my machine the disassembly of the door was easier. I had thought about replacing the machine, but I thought I would give it a try in trying to repair it myself. I bought the part a couple of months ago and I finally got around to replacing the control panel today. For less than $100 I have a running dishwasher again.
Matt you made me look good, repaired my daughters dishwasher just like I had done it a million times. Would not have attempted this without your expertise!! Thank you for the savings and satisfaction!!
Thank you Matt for doing this. I have the almost exact same dishwasher (6 years old) with almost the exact same symptoms, including intermittent beeping for months. This step-by-step tutorial gave me the confidence that I could do the exchange myself. Took me about an hour and a half because I kept watching the video step by step. The dishwasher seems to be working just fine again, thanks to the help from this video. A great service Matt.
This video was amazingly helpful to my husband and I when we were replacing the UI board in our DDT595SSJ2SS model. We had a similar problem that you had with the random beeping that went on for about 9 months until completely died. We found your video after following a professional video that didn't have the details we needed to separate the inner and outer door. Your video came through and was what we followed for the rest of the repair and reassembly. Thank you!
Wow, that is great to hear! I'm so glad this was helpful. Thanks for watching and for sharing your success story! Congrats on performing your own repair!
My dishwasher was doing the exact same thing with making random noises then all of the sudden stopped working all together. After watching this video one time, I ordered the part and since I already had an understanding of how to replace it, this only took about 35 minutes to do. Very easy!! Thank you very much for posting this How-to!!!
I started by installing the control board at the base of the washer (didn't fix the issue). Glad I found this video. Great walkthrough and we're back in business! Thank you.
Thank you for doing this video. I feel like my husband and I just saved about 350.00 on a parts and repair bill. Our model is so close to yours but the DDT595 etc.......type model and we just installed ours and it went perfectly. It went so quickly I couldn't believe it and I know you saved us two + hours in time trying to figure it out ourselves. Thank you for that. You were so methodical and precise and everything went exactly as you did. Our pin set up was different than yours but the technique exactly right on. Again, thank you so much.........I was dreading the Holidays without a dishwasher, even though I don't mind hand washing dishes. The only thing different on our GE washer was that there were no clues anything was wrong except a few times it had been ending the cycle and when I would ck later to put the dishes away there would be water still standing in the bottom of the machine. Thus, I redid the load.........that happened a few times in about three months time so that was my only clue. Ours just totally lost power and not a light would come on in any sequence. Thanks again, you really saved us a ton of time and money. At 76 years of age we are still fixing most our home tasks so again, this was a great video. Kudos to you!!!
I'm glad I found this video because my 5 year old GDT695 was having the exact symptoms before it went dark. And while I've been repairing computers for more than 40 years, PCs to mainframes, this saved me a lot of time figuring out how to get inside that door. Great job!
This video was a life saver for sure!! My husband installed and repaired commercial dish machines for 30 years, but wasn't quite sure how to replace the control board on our dishwasher. He was able to go step by step with the video and we now I have a dishwasher again. Thank you for your post.
Very helpful video. Had the same problem with the random beeping like the door was being opened for about 3 months until the front panel went completely dark. Followed the other video on testing the lower control board. Then ordered the same upper board and installed it. Thank you very much.
I have the same dishwasher mode, and had the same problem. This was the perfect fix video! Thanks!!!! On a side note: I found that the dishwasher doesn't need to be pulled out. A long #1 Phillips screwdriver was used to unhook the spring cord with the door fully closed.
Thank you so much for this video. I will say for our dishwasher, we ended up not having to replace the board. First we verified that 14V was coming from the power board. Then, after removing and disassembling the door, I checked that all switches had continuity when pressed. After that, I was able to get the board to come back alive by shorting the GND and REST pins while the board was plugged in and connected to a powered on main board. Those pin labels are visible at 20:10 in the video, to the left of the 888 display. The exposed traces are visible at 22:32, above the jumpers. Once shorted for a second or two with a jumper wire, the board came alive. You can also use these pins/traces to at least verify you are getting 5V to the board (from the 14V). Hopefully that fix holds. EDIT: The reset held for one wash, and dishwasher is unresponsive again. Will attempt another reset but not holding my breath.
This was a HUGE help! If you have a GDT695 it will break down. The Main Control Board and the User Interface both went on me. Thanks Matt, really appreciate this video. Up and running again!
Thank you for explaining about the pins! I had replaced the UI board and my dishwasher still would not work. Thought it was toast, but I was unaware of the need to change the pins. You saved me $500!!
This is exactly what was wrong with my GE Dishwasher. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. You saved me from buying a new dishwasher or paying someone to come fix it! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Very helpful! Thanks! Be cautious when unhooking the pully cable. Keep it taught so that the cable doesn't become unhooked from the spring, or you'll have to pull the dishwasher halfway out to get it back together. If you're replacing a broken control cover, you'll have to remove the control assembly all the way out in order to get the cover snapped in correctly or you'll break the tabs on the cover. They break easily.
My start button broke. I watched your video and now my dishwasher is in pieces but I ordered the piece that I needed so lets say a prayer that I can get it all back together once my part comes.
THANK YOU MATT!!! Your description of the issues you were experiencing matched exactly what my GE dishwasher was doing. After watching your video I ordered a new interface hoping it would fix the issue. Once I received it, I watched your video again, it took me less than an hour to make the change and have my dishwasher back together again and it works perfectly. My wife is very happy, which everyone knows a Happy Wife = a Happy Life 🙂. Thank you sir for a great video walking me through the process for fixing this issue.
Another happy viewer. We got the dishwasher fixed. Interestingly enough we did not get the paper with the jumper codes on it. Fortunately we had the same model as this one. It works perfectly now except some of the cycle parameters appear to be different with the new board. The times and temperatures aren’t the same.
Matt, this video was incredibly helpful! We had the same intermittent beeping issue, but it hadn’t completely died yet, so we’re hoping this fix does the trick. Your descriptions were spot and on your calm demeanor made me feel confident doing this repair when I had zero experience…thank you, sir. Now, fingers crossed that it takes care of the problem and stays that way!
This is so helpful!! These steps are exactly what I go through, great instructions and I want to especially want to point out a step you mentioned: DON'T FORGET TO SET THE PERSONALITY JUMPERS!! I forgot to set it, and when I saw everything's still dead, I thought I ordered the wrong parts! Watching your video again I saw the mention about the jumpers I knew I missed it the first time. In case this is helpful, my model is DDT595SSJ0SS and the instructions has the jumper settings for DDT595. Your video also has the jumper settings there too. Thank you so much for providing such help to me and everyone!
Thank you for a very detailed and well-done repair video. I was quoted $400. to repair my Dishwasher. Following your video step by step, my dishwasher is working for 84 dollar part and a $60 repair estimate.
Great video. Just finished replacing my UI board and this video saved me lots of time and many swear words. One thing I did differently was when I separated the two parts of the door, I left it laying flat rather then standing it up. After the screws were out, I just pushed from the bottom rather then pulling from the top. It worked like a charm first time with zero fenagling. Putting it back together laying down was just as easy.
You saved my life and this expensive dishwasher my house came with. Two things took me way too long on this 1. If your counter top is some kind of rock (we have some fake rock/stone that looks fancy) the dishwasher is going to be screwed into the cabinets... After struggling for 45 minutes and ripping a screw our of the cabinet I figured it out 2. Pay attention to how the control board at the bottom sits before you excitedly pull it out to see the LED only to spend way too much time trying to get the damn thing back in. But other than that a pretty straight forward process!
Our User Interface Board had gone blank like you had shown on yours so we followed your previous video and had the same results. We purchased a new UIB and installed it after watching this video most of the way through and had a successful fix also. Thank you very much for the helpful videos.
Matt , Thank you very much for these 2 videos, they saved me hundreds of dollars , not having to call the repairman, by being able to watch your videos and make the repair on the dishwasher .
Excellent video!! I had similar symptoms with my GDF630PGM0WW 3 year old model. After the "Breaker Box Shuffle" too many times, it no longer responded. I disassembled mine yesterday, ready to insert my new UI and silicone light pipe. Much to my dismay, it looks like my front control panel plastic assembly was all broken up inside and the screws holding in the circuit board had been over-tightened, breaking the holding tabs. 🤔I have never opened up the dishwasher for repairs before yesterday. and it was SUPPOSEDLY BRAND NEW when I bought it back in March 2019. I bought a new control panel assembly and am waiting for that to arrive next week. When I finally get to insert my new UI board, I hope that I get my dishwasher working at long last! Once again, kudos for an incredibly helpful, detailed video. 👍
Thank you so much for this detailed video, I have the same model dishwasher and had the same exact symptoms. You did a great job explaining all the steps, and I now have a fully functional dishwasher again!
Hi I just want to thank you for your video. It helped me fix my dishwasher, with out calling a repair person. You saved me money. Once again thank you.
This was easy to follow and so useful. Many thanks Matt. Getting the kickplate back on was probably the most difficult part. Since my screwdriver wasn’t magnetized, I used tape to hold the screw in the screwdriver and also tape to hold the insulation back from the hole that the screw went in when installing the kickplate.
Matt you did the first video on solid led and did this video perfectly, it was so easy to replace UI board with your video. No other videos found with your detail. Just saved hundreds $. Thank you!
Matt I really appreciate you posting this video! I got lucky and didn't have to disconnect the power, water or drain lines in order to pull out the dishwasher the 6-8inches needed to get to the hinge cables. Total time to repair following your instructions about 45 minutes! Thank you so much for posting this, keep up the good work!
Hey first just wanted to thank you for the thorough and in depth review. Even something as simple as fine and coarse threaded screws which I mixed up haha. Want to add for anyone who put in a new floor or just doesn’t want to deal with pulling the dishwasher out, which is arguably the hardest part of this fix. You can use a pair of needle nose pliers to unclip the door hinge springs. It’s harder to reclip them but if if you take your time it can be done. Mine actually came off their springs but you can reach under and to the side to reclip them to the springs. This saved me a bunch of time and frustration as my countertops and floor install makes pulling out the dishwasher a huge effort. You may need to remove the 2 metal hinge pieces marked L and R. This is a simple 1/4 or Phillips to do so.
Wish I’d have watched your video first. I watched another first, and hadn’t seen/read the info sheet on setting the personality pins. Lots of head scratching until I realized I missed that step. At least taking the UI in and out the 2nd time was a snap! Thanks Matt, great instructions!
Thank you for this how to post. Just changed my board out in a few minutes instead of hours thanks to your step by step tutorial. My only snafu occurred when I lifted the inner door from the outer door, I popped the cover plate off of the top and it broke all of the tabs off so it wouldn't;t stay on securely. After a little head scratching, I found some very sticky dbl face tape and it's all good.
My dishwasher just did the same thing. This was an extremely helpful video, as well as it's "sister" video explaining how to locate and troubleshoot the control board that feeds this panel. Thanks!!!
Thanks for your effort in making this video, it not only fixed it but was done very well and concisely. Yours was the only video that explained the jumper connections and that taking the hinges off wasn't necessary. Good work.
This detailed, step-by-step video helped me fix my GE Profile GDT695SMJ2ES. Now if I can figure out how to reinstall the insulation piece. It's always that final step that gets me. Thanks Matt!
BIG thanks to Matt for the great video and detail. Without it, I would not have been able to troubleshoot and know what to look for (solid on LED and 14 V supply). Excellent job!!
It is a shame that every part breaks in these GE machines so quickly. But luckily your videos are here for us non mechanical types! Your videos are awesome and very well done. Thanks!
Thank you Matt, I did the main control board and now I am looking at the UI interface. The front control on my model looks to be a bit more problem. Very well done video.
Great Video! Just completed the UI replacement today and everything seems to be running great. As others have noted, you can skip removing the door completely. Basically just start the video at the 14:07 mark and remove the 4 (2 T25 screws on each side of the door panel) and the (2) 1/4 screws tucked way up under the bottom side of the door, just like Matt demonstrates. The inner door panel pops off leaving the stainless steel outside panel in place still on its hinges. I forgot to remove the vent cap but don't think its necessary as the whole vent assembly is attached to the inner panel. While I think this way is faster, I am not sure it is easier than just pulling the entire door off. I lucked out and have this exact GDT695SS so the instructions were perfect! Make sure not to cover the exhaust vent located on the underside of door panel when reinstalling the insulation! Thanks again Matt, not sure I would have tried this had I not found this video👍.
@@StevenDodell-id1kg I used a right-angle driver attachment and stacked (2) low profile 1/4" bit holders-The 2 holders measured 5" total, I think a 6" bit holder may be too long. I used my cellphones front facing camera to help me locate the screws. A magnetic holder with a low-profile casing made dealing with the screws much easier. I don't think it matters if you remove the t-25 screws before or after the 1/4" screws.
Thanks for the video. My dishwasher is the exact same model and I have tested the 120V for power and the 14V to the UI. Oddly I get 119.5V power and 13.5V for the lead to the UI. So it looks like I will be replacing the user interface. I did notice one thing in your video when you released the door tension pulley there is a catch to place it in when it is removed. There is a little 'tab' to the left of the wheel that is used as a catch for the plastic hook. A better look is in your video @ 10:28 -10:34. As a side note, after watching this and other videos the lights my dishwasher UI lit up and I was able to get the dishes done. Thank you for a powerful video.
Matt, just wanted to let you know that your video helped me immensely. I ended up replacing both the control board and the user interface board. The dishwasher now works. Thank You!
Thanks Matt, this was great! I did mine today and it's currently washing dishes. Your video and steps were spot on. I had all the tools needed and didn't have to go down to the basement to grab a missing something. Someone suggested separating the door panel on its side. This worked much better for me, it slide apart easily on its side. I had to take mine apart twice. I either didn't clip in one of the cables to the UI tight or didn't push down a jumper tight so while I checked the pins twice might not have pushed something tight. You can get to the jumpers without separating the display as there is a cutout on the bottom.
Thank you for this great video. We have the exact model GE dishwasher as you & has been beeping just like yours. I went step-by-step per your instructions. Ordered a User Interface board, replaced it & MY DISHWASHER WORKS LIKE A CHARM NOW! Thanks for video & DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS. I really appreciate your help. Thanks, Bob
Matt, Thanks for the video. My dishwasher, GDT695SMJ5ES, is very close to your video but 3.5 years old. I did as you instructed on both of your videos, found power coming from the power board and then bought the UI board. Replaced and it works great!
Thank you for uploading this video. I just finished replacing my User Interface Control Board and don't think I could have done it without your video. To remove the panel on my model...I had to unscrew a plastic vent in the inside of the door. Thanks again!
Matt, you just saved me a lot of money. Had already replaced a bad control board. Thought I had another go bad and ordered a replacement. That didn't fix the issue and swapping the UI board out didn't, either. It was your video that pointed me to the jumpers on the new UI board since that paper didn't come with my new board. Once I corrected the jumper position, I was back up and running. THANK YOU!
Thanks for this it was very helpful. With my unit (model ddt595ssj2ss ) I didn't have to move the unit out of it's spot. With the door shut, I was able to unhook the white plastic tension tab attached to the nylon string with a hooked pick. The plastic has a hole in it, I unhooked the plastic and pulled straight out. If you look below the hinge area , there is a little bent up tab that is meant to hold the string (you can see it in your vid at 10:20) I pulled out the tab and slid the string in that tab. It's held securely in place but I still put screwdriver on each side though the holes just in case it slipped out. i didn't want to have to move the unit out to retrieve the string. Then I removed the door and took it apart like your video. Again very helpful, but doing this saved me a lot of time and trouble.
I too left my unit in place and just removed the tab with needle nose pliers, after reading your comment I replaced everything using the reverse of your technique and it worked great, thanks!
thx cuh i fixeded my ge dishwursher i hope. I be running the cleaning cycle as we speak. Hopefully it's fixed. I ordered the part from amazon and some jackass returned it with the one they replaced. I know cause it had no jumper pins and I had to reorder it one mo gen
Fantanstic video and step by step instructions. Replaced both lower board, UI control panel in door and door latch. Had the jumpers on the UI pin 2 only on one leg, corrected and it works. 1st time lower board was bad. 2nd time replaced UI control board and door latch with jumper wrong. 3 rd time moved jumper 2 to both post and don’t you know it works. Not quite as good as the new dishwasher I bought but great enough for my daughter who now has a 2 year old dishwasher. My daughter thanks you a million times.
Sir, this is the most helpful video that I watched on TH-cam. Because of you, I was able to make my dishwasher work again. If you're ever in central Florida, let me know, I owe you a cold beer. Thanks!
Thanks, Matt!! This and the control video are exactly what any DIY needs. And yes, GE dishwashers are kinda like my old 65 Mustang - cheap, unreliable, but can be fixed. Oh, and the price for the UI boards have almost doubled to $179 or so. Still..... better than buying a new one! Anything but GE!!
Excellent. I have a GE Dishwasher GLDT696SS-00(I have it memorized by now sigh) -stainless, it is a really nice one like yours. In the first couple of mos of owning it this happened-the thing went blank-thankfully it was on recall and they replaced the control board. Apparently they were all installed with bad components. After that, it worked well for 10 years. On the Best Buy forum I read our model was rated a 1 star. People were saying they would never buy another GE dishwasher. Lately it has been leaving water in the bottom and I am trying to figure that out. I hope it isn't a control board issue but I am finding if it is, usually a lot of other things are going wrong too. Thanks for putting this up. The more of these the better.
Matt. .this was an excellent instruction video...I'm glad you specifically pointed out the fact that the new control board jumper pins were set with open pins...I would have missed that when I installed the new board so you saved me a lot of grief and (of course) money Thanks
Works perfectly now! Thanks for posting. I was having the same phantom beeps then would work for a while after power cycle. It eventually died for good.
Dear Matt, thank you so much for your videos on GE dishwasher repairs!! I haven't checked out your other videos yet (excuse me if you've already made the following), but please consider making videos that span the breadth of life with as much detailed instruction and with your powerful calming "it's going to be alright" affect: how to handle your first broken heart, how to be respectful to women, children, and well pretty much everyone, how to train a puppy, test taking tips, how to rub bees' wax into leather footwear, how to cook like you give a damn, self haircuts, music appreciation, washing your neck (is it a part of your face or body?), etc., etc.
@Matt Payne, I am grateful you made the effort to post this here. I was able to view it to confirm the part I needed and then feel confident in getting this unit apart. After viewing the video, it actually was quite simple to perform.
There's a good thread on reddit on what causes this. We think the root cause for this problem is due to bad solder joints. The make the unit power off and on. Upon power on, the micro controller on the main board writes something to flash ram. Flash ram can only be written to so many times before it fails. Under normal conditions, dish washers dont power cycle very often, maybe a few times a year at most. But with failed solder joints and the unit turning on and off, eventually the micro controller's flash memory fails and dies. Which is why in the beginining power cycling the dish washer seems to bring it back. Tonight i took main my board out and looked at it under a microscope and noted many many cracked solder joints. The worst was on a very small surface capacitor c910. I reflowed all the solder joints and put it back together and the dish washer is running fine now. I'll keep an eye on it. Point being, if you are handy with soldering, and your unit still works if you unplug it/ plug it back in, worth a try to reflow solder joints to see if that will fix your problem. Since youtube doesnt let you post links, I cant post the reddit thread here, but if you google "Fix for many GE dishwasher problems with control board, UI board, current sense module". If after some time I confirm my rework fixed this issue permenently, I'm happy to offer my services resoldering these boards for anyone who is stuck with this unfortunate issue.
Very helpful, clear video. Straight forward with no unnecessary comments. Followed procedure as done in the video and my dishwasher is working again. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself. Thanks.
Steven Dodell did you ever track this down? I'm having the same issue...
@@StevenDodell-id1kg Usually the power connection plug under the smart board. Look for discoloration... a weak connection there will act erratic
Thank you.
Thank GOD there are guys like you out there willing to spend your time video taping tutorials like this.
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you for your post.
just disconnected the panel power and plugged it back in after 15 seconds.
the dish washer works again now!!!
thank you so much
Very helpful video.
Thanks for the part two of this and going through the jumper, I would've blown off the instruction sheet otherwise!!
Thank you for posting this detailed guide! Worked perfectly for my GE model GDT695SSJ2SS.
These steps are exactly what I go through, great instructions and I want to especially want to point out a step you mentioned:
DON'T FORGET TO SET THE PERSONALITY JUMPERS!!
Your video made this repair actually on a time basis about 30 minutes and want to thank you for putting this up..
Just wanted to add my thanks for all the help in both trouble shooting the problem and how to remove and replace the board.
Thank you!
I just replaced my UI board with your video. Excellent instructions. The kind of detail a novice needs. Works great! Thanks
Matt I really appreciate you posting this video! I got lucky and didn't have to disconnect the power, water or drain lines in order to pull out the dishwasher the 6-8inches needed to get to the hinge cables. Total time to repair following your instructions about 45 minutes! Thank you so much for posting this, keep up the good work!
very well done. great camera focus and angles. thorough explanation. If you're not an applaince repair professional, you should be. thank you.
This video was amazing. Helped me fix my issue especially after I mistakenly replaced the lower control board which was fine all along.
Thanks Matt. My dishwasher is up and running. Followed your excellent video instructions and saved a bundle. My wife is extremely happy. Thanks again.
Based on views, 8400 in 5 months and we have the same model and symptoms
our UI board is on order. Best how to video I think I've ever seen. TYFS
Matt you did an awesome job on this!! Our symptoms were a dead match. Took my time and the board is alive again. Thank you very much.
Good work.
I'm so glad this helped you, Joe! Thanks very much for watching and for your kind words!
Directions were spot on how to accomplish. Dishwasher went from dead to making magic.
How doe you get to those 2 screws tucked up there if the door is still on? When you take the torx screws out, does that become easy?
@@StevenDodell-id1kg I used a right-angle driver attachment and stacked (2) low profile 1/4" bit holders-The 2 holders measured 5" total, I think a 6" bit holder may be too long. I used my cellphones front facing camera to help me locate the screws. A magnetic holder with a low-profile casing made dealing with the screws much easier. I don't think it matters if you remove the t-25 screws before or after the 1/4" screws.
Phenomenal video! You saved me hundreds AND time on finding a tech / labor / parts. Great work and thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for the video.
Matt Payne a legend!
You are singlehandily responsible for my ability to repair this issue on my GE.
Thank you!
Matt, great video...after waiting 60 days for my control board to come in, your video made it so easy to replace. Thanks again, no more hand washing !
Perfect video. I found it a bit easier to separate the door while it was laying down. Other than that, everything was spot on. Thank you!
Wonder how to test which board is the problem?? Trouble shooting?
Matt, just wanted to let you know that your video helped me immensely. I ended up replacing both the control board and the user interface board. The dishwasher now works. Thank You!
Excellent video, all one has to do is follow the step by step Matt gives and you have a completed repair!
Thank you! With this comprehensive video I was able to swap my board in under 20 minutes!
THANK YOU!
Spot on Video I have the same model, and followed your diagnostic video and the UI replacement. Working fine now.
Thank you for the video. We have had our dishwasher 5 years and this board went out. Great tips.
Thanks so much. Probably saved me$400 bucks beyond the cost of the board. Much appreciated!
Excellent video - I had the same symptoms exactly. 4 years for my failure. Great job GE…
This was a great instructional video! Exactly what I needed to get the UI board successfully replaced in my GE Dishwasher. Thanks so much!!!
thx cuh i fixeded my ge dishwursher i hope.
Thank you!!! I almost replaced the main board before watching your videos. Just in time for all the Christmas dishes!
Awesome video.. My dishwasher had the exact same issues, the random beeping had me questioning my sanity. Thank you for this!
I never thought i could do this. With your great instruction, I now have a new dishwasher! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for such a detailed video! It sure made the job easy for me when the same thing happened to mine!!
Thanks.
