As a woman I can walk to the hawker/restaurant at midnight without fearing for my life or being harassed.

It would be good to know where you were living before you moved out there. Because I’ve never really had any of these problems where I live in America, but I don’t live in a big city

Haha. Depends where you’re coming from. I’m from the Philippines so there’s a huge contrast. But of course, there are deeper, more emotional reasons. Maybe another video. Happy weekend Mark!

@@leo.caballesyou are right. Loving something have different layers. Emotional reasons being the deepest, not necessary be shared openly. Loving the conveniences in life and being in control of the nitty gritty are often being sidelined, but to some coming from another place where such is a rare commodity, can speak volumes. Happy National Day

Mark, you sound like the kind of Singaporean who has a Chinese surname and asks others if they're native.

@awkydrey really now. What I am saying is the appreciation he has for the country is so artificial. If Singapore wasn't wealthy, I don't think he would have shown the same love and appreciation, let alone convert citizenship. Our parents and grandparents have shown love and appreciation for the country even when Singapore was nothing but a fishing village. He talks so positively about the country because of the wealth and comfort he enjoys and talks ill about his native land - Philippines. That speaks volumes if you read between the lines.
