100%. They just play so scared on defense. And it's odd because JohnQT has shown to be a great IGL but there's seemingly 0 adjustments to their defenses during the round or even calls to try to clear some space. Like on round 3, they could've left Omen in wine to jiggle and try to hold the space. And then Deadlock/Jett could've tried double contacting into cat to get info on it. At that point they would've recognized that it's either a B main push or a B split which would've allowed them to try to re clear mid.

I think this shows that valorant is a lot less about strategy and a lot more about who shows up on the day. And I think for this reason we see teams like eg last year that get hot and win where as successful players with pressure feom winning before like tenz after Reykjavik, yay after 2022, and demon1 in 2024 just can’t turn up as they did when they had the momentum
I think what people meant by "sentinels not contesting A main enough" is for the 2nd half where they just let munchkin manipulate and control A main space without any cintest at all (atleast not until later in the rounds)
They also took too many solo fights when contesting and and;e during both attack and defense and swung to trade each other more than they swung as a duo/trio/team.
That's why it's important for a team to play a lot of games. GenG kept going while Sen didn't play much during Shanghai. But still it also have something to do with the coaches. Coaches who understands the game better and knows their player's capability well can make a good comp.
One thing I found just strange about Johnqt in Deadlock in Ascent was that he threw Dl's wall onto Gate and got it smoked off and instead of fighting for market control they don't even break the KJ bot and just jiggles for so long in mid. Like I don't get it, what were they trying to accomplish

@@Rapido7cold Imo, Platoon literally goes over everything. Their strategies, how the enemy is countering them, what position they are in, how they won, how they lost, etc.
I don't know if anyone else would feel this way, but I honestly feel like 2024 SEN still had some remaining role issues that seem to not be present in the current roster. I don't mean as in agents, but agents could be included. I mean from a player type perspective. If you try to categorize SEN's players in CS like terms I'd label: Zekken as a Primary Riffler. Tenz as a Primary Awper/Secondary Rifler. Sacy as a Setup/Clutch player. JohnQT as an Anchor/Lurk player. Zellsis as a Setup/Lurk player. I feel like we saw that when either Zekken or Tenz had off games, Sen always struggled with matching firepower due to the default playstyles of the other 3 being slower paced and not as consistent in sharing mid to early round impact and instead had later round plays. I feel like the distinction between Zekken being a Primary Riffler and Tenz being a Primary Awper did cause a few comp issues. I would also back this up by how Tenz has since retiring straight up said that he is an awper and feels like riffles are inconsistent. I feel like majority of their maps worked out just fine but I feel like Sen overcorreected from the previous year with specifically Breeze, and I would also possiboy consider Ascent/Icebox. Tenz even in most recent years had stand out performances on Breeze as Jett and on Ascent even when his team struggled and was one of the few maps where entrying on Jett really wasn't a hinderance to his playstyle whereas I do feel like Tenz's Kay/O performances were at times. I feel like those maps especially Breeze at least would've benefitted from playing their 2023 Roles. With Bang and Narrate joining Sen I would consider them both to be Secondary rifflers with Bang also being a clutch player and Narrate having Primary Riffler impact at times as well. The recently leaked scrims already shows Sen as more volatile with their duelist role picks between Narrate and Zekken to back this theory as well.
I generally feel like the Awp was underutilized by a lot of teams in 2024. Sen especially. Only teams I really recall falling into a primary awper in 2024 I'd say would be GENG/EDG/FPX/LEV/FURIA/MIBR/PRX/T1 maybe FNC but I also feel like Derke riffled more than awped this last year, and a few other Asian teams. The fact that the majority of the teams didn't make internationals a lot was also pretty evident to me. I think that it's interesting that Heretics don't really utilize the awp at all and wonder if their losses in BO5's could be affected by that.
Feels like Sen got a little too cocky and didnt work as hard for this match as they should have, resulting in a nasty surprise when Gen G actually knew what they were doing and preventing Sen from adapting quick enough.
nahh there's no way they grew cocky when they already started falling apart in Stage 1 resulting in them missing Shanghai. They're also aware that Gen G is a great team having faced them before, losing once and winning once, and Gen G having won the last masters. Sen had no reason to think this was going to be an "easy" game and the slow playstyle actually kind of shows that they were giving Gen G too much respect like they were scared to make plays.
playing too slow is a sign of less confidence, overthinking, and poor comms. Which is very concerning for Sentinels, as they have John as an IGL, Zellsis as flex and second caller, and also a champs winner in Sacy.Zellsis and John should be the most talkactive ones, Tenz is always positive, Idk about sacy and zekken. If I can change someone in this team I think Sacy should go away, he doesn't look like a champs winner tbh
Main reason is that sen is trying a combo that they don't know how to play. They haven't learnt it and trying to play with that combo in champs they had enough time to learn idk wtf they were doing
when everyone doubted me when I told everyone geng at madrid still have a huge ceiling and is a newly built team that it is impossible for that to be their prime considering it is a new team, and everyone is relatively young
Sentinels need to change the agent pool between Tenz and Zekken in different maps, like Abyss and Haven. Tenz as Jett and Zekken can play Ini or Controller, Cuz the last match I can feel Zekken is uncomfortable playing duelist in Haven.

they won today’s match by playing with confidence. sentinels are at their best when they dictate the pace of the match, not when they let others dictate their pace. thats why they beat geng today.

that is true but come on, they lost 3 games in a row to the teams that have improved like CRAZY since madrid, and mind you it's the deadlock cypher comp too.
just because lev almost lost to talon doesn’t justify how bad sen played against GenG. lev still had great rounds even if they weren’t playing to their level and nonetheless still closed the match 2-0. sen still had something to prove to themselves and everyone else that they were still a worthy competitor and even if they were bound to lose to GenG they didn’t prove anything at all. When sen were good in the beginning of the year they got praised heavily (rightfully so because they played perfect valorant) but once they started losing bad games, the problems that they’ve “solved” are the reason they keep on losing and their confidence and mental just keep on going down. they’re receiving such harsh criticism because they’ve achieved many highs and because they’ve gone to their lowest of lows in which are not to their fans’ standards.
To be fair, SEN tactics about playing slow and waiting to punish pushes have become their signature. Due to that, the other team can predict and counter this
Bruh, GenG has always been a slow but aggressive team this entire year and yet they've not been "countered". The problem the video mentions is the fact that they lost their signature gameplay style. They aren't playing aggressive enough to actually deter GENG from doing whatever they want
gen g was burned out they literally played the most amount of matches. even if SEN or TH make it to the finals, GEN will still have more matches played
I feel like it was an off day for Zekken when watching this live. Also it sucks how when they get bomb down they just play by themselves and not just all play off each other or together. Lost 2 super important rounds to a game which they easily could've won.

that is true but come on, they lost 3 games in a row to the teams that have improved like CRAZY since madrid, and mind you it's the deadlock cypher comp too.
It's not about losing 1 game. It's about how bad they're playing and the diff is clearly visible. Sentinels don't deserve to be in the champs.
just because lev almost lost to talon doesn’t justify how bad sen played against GenG. lev still had great rounds even if they weren’t playing to their level and nonetheless still closed the match 2-0. sen still had something to prove to themselves and everyone else that they were still a worthy competitor and even if they were bound to lose to GenG they didn’t prove anything at all.
Fax😂😂
To be fair, SEN tactics about playing slow and waiting to punish pushes have become their signature. Due to that, the other team can predict and counter this
Bruh, GenG has always been a slow but aggressive team this entire year and yet they've not been "countered". The problem the video mentions is the fact that they lost their signature gameplay style. They aren't playing aggressive enough to actually deter GENG from doing whatever they want
They don’t need a “signature” they need to win😂
this video didnt age well
Platoon I love your vids they actually make me nrg🦞
Keep up the arrtistry❤
its sentinels every 3 years they dominate the first tournament and then do nothing for the next 8 tournaments the cycle repeats
They can't handle t3xture's aura anymore
looks like t3xture ran out of aura bro
geng can't handle sen aura. That's why they start shaking when they play sen at elimination games
Dang! I watched this too late, when Sen wins 2-0 against Gen G. Does that mean that Gen G got worse but Sen got better?
Sentinels are not locking in mann
Sentinels just seem like they go on cruise control after taking a big win. There was 0 improvement since winning Madrid.
they have to be fucking fast and quit picking deadlock
Too bad you can't mention the sentinels channel or something for them to see this in order to help them with their mistakes
Here after sen beat gen (2-0) with the same map and score from madrid
This didn't age well
Cant wait to watch clout kings get wiped by fpx
Why is this recommended to me now
will sen be the first one to go home?
So when are we getting, "Why Sentinels got Better But Gen G Got Worse>"
gen g was burned out they literally played the most amount of matches. even if SEN or TH make it to the finals, GEN will still have more matches played
@@shinewymn didnt both GenG and SEN play 3 games in this tournament?
@@Artorias_The_Abysswalker1 nono i was talking abt all games (playoffs, masters, stage 1 and 2) gen g made it to all finals
@@shinewymn excuses
@@flukeshot4562 u call that excuses? go ask the coach himself. do the math yourself. sen fans these days. absolute SENematically cringe
SEN need to sign you
Talk about this now😂
sentinel after wininng master madrid
= Burnout 😵
Gen g after lose grandfinal and win grandfinal shanghai
= More more stronger 💪
Nice grammar. L
so u r telling me we actually have a chance🙂🙂
Bro really changed the title 💀
Geng trained using 60fps with computers RIOT used on competition
No
I feel like it was an off day for Zekken when watching this live. Also it sucks how when they get bomb down they just play by themselves and not just all play off each other or together. Lost 2 super important rounds to a game which they easily could've won.
They were already outclassed to begin with. Off day just rubs salt to the wound
Ngl he been off since Madrid 😅
@@krizos5305 as soon as I saw him spraying the champs phantom like it's the oni and missed every bullets ik it's over
even if sen played perfectly, they would not beat geng every team has a skill ceiling and sen have reached their max at madrid they don't have the luxury of having 5 avengers in one team that geng has
Accept it SEN fans that T0NZ is shit along with Z0kken , bench them
Lmaoo this vid popped up right after Sen 2-0 them lmaoo
GenG are just different...
Asians are built diff
@@stickmanbattle997Asians got this work ethics when they want to achieve something
Guys they r still burnt out from Madrid trust they always win the first one
nah just APAC got some demon aimers ,just a aim duel diff
I’m so disappointed honestly
Same. Especially those god awful deadlock comp
I think sen are playing perfectly fine 💯💯💯

Should have uploaded this video after their match against FPX
weh sorry just checking in
Its time to either delete this video or make another one stating the reverse😂😂
"Why GEN.G Got Worse but Sentinals Got Better" incoming
GenG coming close to what Optic has achieved in a year. I wish they take 3rd position 😁
So they will be on same level plus they wont get the champions curse.
Sentinels problem is tgat they are too scared, i mean gen g is scary but gang. Alot of rounds could've been won on attack if they played it bit more aggressive for instance when they went garage 2 rounds in a row and only won the first one.
exactly they lost confidence.
Americans and especially sen get super complacent after a win and lets be honest they do not deserve a spot at champs
Lmao say that again
Now this is ironic
"They need to play more aggressive" bro they are literally SENTINELS (jk)
