He himself said he didn't like and wasn't comfortable on hard entry roles and preferred 2nd entry and trading. I think this is probably how NRG need to shift, by either evening up duty or putting demon1 on a trading position more often.

This is so applicable to Yay and cryo as well. Also shows how Aspas is really just built different.
Edit: Just reached the end and saw how you mentioned Victor and Yay as well. Apart from a team strat point of view, a pro entry shouldn't necessarily be the best headshooter. Look at how Jingg is super entry while hs are low, Less really poppin heads but is great at being a sentinel. Tenz is also another prime example really.
TBH it just may be the teams marketing sales points that cripple these cracked sharpshooters. They never thrived in delivering chaos, but survive d by being calm in the eye of the storm.
T1 and Zeta have the same problems but hell, thats another story.

Why he was so good with EG -
He got given a chance at a tier 1 team that was ranked last in Americas at the time. He got that bulldog mentality where he got nothing to lose and can only go up. At the time, he was also getting closer to his current fiance(Katarina) and I'm sure that helped him mentally. Wins by wins, EG build up their momentum and chemistry which eventually got them a champions win.
Why he sucks with NRG -
So much pressure to perform in a completely new environment. New teammates and coaching staff to work with. Becoming his teams main duelist while he was more of Jett only duelist and smoke player in EG. The coach(chet) that hasn't really been as proactive as potter(EG's coach) in recent time. To make it worse, his fiance is currently having severe health issues.

I know it's not really something you can talk about in a video like this but some of his plays in 2023 heavily relied on his aim and it's just kind of gone. its a different meta as well. its a raze meta, raze players arent necessarily your best aimers on the team because of the plays they have to make. and chet putting him on raze its just terrible. thats why you see guys like Less, Mako, Eeiu, N4rrate etc playing support roles because they can get into aim duals
much like when demon1 was playing more brim and astra

    • @bigsmartfish
      @bigsmartfish 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

His aim might look worse but its also because hes being thrown into situations where he needs to watch 3 or more angles at once, as a second entry, or lurker, youre focus lies on a few angles, whereas being solo entry, your focus is just getting onto site. the entry should be giving the team the opening to follow him onto site, he shouldnt be fighting alone vs 3 people
and its also a mental thing, momentum plays a huge part in winning gunfights, if you’re dying a lot, each gunfight suddenly feels a lot more stressful, which can mess with calm aim a lot

good video platoon! May i suggest a video idea of a deep analysis of Forsaken's agent pool? maybe you can analyse his transition from a jett-yoru only player in 2022 into being a flex god in 2023/24

I never realized the correlation between 100T, EG, and NRG. It's actually scary how well it works as well. 100T picked up the brains behind last years EG (except Potter), and are now playing similarly to that team. Wow

Really think you should have pointed out Boostio as the common denominator for both Demon1 and Cryo. He plays like a secondary engagement player, which gave D1 and Cryo the opportunity to play to their styles.

So glad you brought up Yay. Optic’s signature style was inserting Yay chamber and letting him take 1v1s and lurk. It’s true that the play style doesn’t work nearly as well anymore with Chamber nerfs and teams getting better at handling it but it’s crazy that Chet doesn’t see the parallels here.

im js halfway thru the video but ig another reason why demon1 shouldn't be heavily relied on for entry is bec his aiming style relies a lot on first shot accuracy (idk how to explain it but for reference go and watch his latest vid where he played a lot of dms then ig you'll understand what i mean). compare it with how something aims, itll be a very big difference w demon1.

this is what I found so confusing with NRG. I noticed this issue to a lesser extent, but it isn't one that NRG has necessarily had issues with before. NRG/Optic has used a Jett/Senti hybrid player in the last 3 iterations of the roster, in Yay, Ardiis, and now Demon. Why did the rest of the team suddenly forget how to play with this type of role? I think picking up a true IGL will help a lot as they can properly utilize that role like FNS was able to.

  • @fatherfigure8761

Same thing was happening with Tenz, he said that he always shined in the second entry role and during Reykjavik Sick was the true entry and he was second in, and when he became the first entry he struggled because it wasn’t his play style

this is the same exact problem with yay on bleed, they don't need yay on raze all the time, just get someone aggresive that likes to entry and have yay just be chamber/sentinel/or maybe even follow cryo and go smokes, and have him as an insert-jett player on jett maps

It’s a team game nobody is a superstar alone. Valorant is such a complicated game and usually the ones that are winning are the ones with the best cohesion not necessarily the most mechanical. It’s kinda cool to see a players style broken down tho.

4:06 Tbh this could also be applied to yay's situation. In his optic prime he played chamber and wasn't considered to be the first guy that entered, instead he just played behind his team. I don't understand why people find it weird that he failed to find success in his duelist role these days.
