By 2000 Griffey's body starts to fail him, and Barry moved into a new ballpark that favored his left handed power over the right field wall as well as his known "cream and clear" steroid use and it's during that time that his stats start to mimic Griffey's 1994-1999 seasons.

Griffey did it in the window of what is considered to be the "athletic peak". Griffey put on body fat and weight associated with age in men. Bonds' head, arms, legs and traps got HUGE as did McGwire's. I know many a person using or who have used steroids and there are obvious signs in every one of them. Not all steroids make you massive but the ones that don't give you a hard, dry, dense muscular look. Lance Armstrong used EPO to boost his red blood cell production.... that isn't a steroid. Using an AAS with EPO would be very dangerous as EPO already thickens your blood considerably do to the overproduction of red blood cells and using even a bioidentical Testosterone Cypionate would have been very dangerous due to the propensity of testosterone to elevate hematocrit considerably. Griffey wasn't on Roids.
Griffey still to this day is my favorite player ever. His swing was so natural and flowing. Best swing ever imo also. Glad he came to Cincinnati at the end so I could watch him hit some of his HRS live. Amazing

When I was growing up, every kid on the playground put their hats on backwards after the Derbys to emulate Griffey. He was everyone's favorite player. Would be awesome if a Tatis or Ohtani can capture a generation in that same way.
Living in Denver at this time will always remain among my favorite memories of MLB. Went to more than 50 games a year at the brand new Coors Field and will never forget the view while sitting down the rightfield line as the sun set over the mountains. OMG the colors a Colorado sky can produce at that hour of the night.

He said he barely lifted weights. He took BP all the time and would just joke around. The injuries he sustained could really have happened to anyone that played reckless like he did for the 10 years prior and playing where the mariners played and the reds played did play a part. A-Rod started juicing when he got to TX with Pudge, Gonzalez and of course Canseco.

Really enjoyed this, I loved the game from a little kid back in the 80s... The '98 season is a special season... It brought the fans back to game after the 94 strike but it did something else, maybe overlooked but no less important, it put the game and sport of baseball back in the conscience of America. People began paying attention. Now we put those players, some of them in a prison where the gate keepers are the same folks who praised them and gave them Cy Young and MVP awards... Call me crazy but I liked this format. You would get a more ambient feel and seeing the camera track the ball was entertaining. Yes, it was slow but they could tweak it so you are not allowed to have so many takes to speed up the process.

Really enjoyed this, I loved the game from a little kid back in the 80s... The '98 season is a special season... It brought the fans back to game after the 94 strike but it did something else, maybe overlooked but no less important, it put the game and sport of baseball back in the conscience of America. People began paying attention. Now we put those players, some of them in a prison where the gate keepers are the same folks who praised them and gave them Cy Young and MVP awards...

Call me crazy but I liked this format. You would get a more ambient feel and seeing the camera track the ball was entertaining. Yes, it was slow but they could tweak it so you are not allowed to have so many takes to speed up the process.
