    Dr Vipender Sabharwala comes from a family that has produced 150 doctors in 104 years. Every single member of the family for five generations has been a doctor. But the Kolkata rape and murder of a young doctor has given his family pause. Likewise for Dr Nabanita Chatterjee a surgeon married to a doctor who says her daughter does not want to be in the medical profession,
    We have seen the doctors protesting on the streets across India but do we really understand their lives?

      But don't forget this very Barkha has the habit of eulogizing the Indian lungi bahini who are the habitual offender to beat doctors in hospital particularly in my West Bengal.

      How you can persevere after 36 or 72 hour shifts is beyond my understanding. I used to get exhausted after working just 10-12 hour shifts at an Amazon delivery station with all the uncertainties and drama. Hats off to your profession!

    16:41 Barkha ji we are really thankful to you for your seamless endeavours to highlight the henius crime commited in R G KAAR MEDICAL COLLEGE KOLKATA highly abominable act of violence. Barkha ji there are 20 doctors in my family however I am not a doctor. I am extremely upset with the apathetic west Bengal government. Very horrendous and horrific.moreover I am proud of family of Dr. sabharwal's family for giving the country 154 doctors in 105 years.

    When my daughter was posted in a small hospital in a rural area and when she was doing night shift we used to talk with her intermittently during her duties during late hours to get to know the daily situation. That is the concern of every parents. One day a heart patient came , about 10 accompanied youngsters barged in to my daughter’s cabin and started directing rather dictating her regarding methods of treatment, not allowing to diagnose. Local security are generally not equipped to handle such bullying. No untoward happened that day for my daughter by God’s grace. Daughter saved the patient that day . Now my daughter and friends are trying to go for abroad for PG. Now I feel they are right. They say Girls do not get safety from administration

      "Violence has significant impacts on the US health care sector, which include the need to care for injured victims and prevent violence to its physicians and employees, as well as the surrounding community. In 2017 violence resulted in about 2.3 million emergency department visits and 376,500 hospitalizations, with an estimated total medical cost of about $8.7 billion. Victims also often need short- and long-term physical and psychological rehabilitation. Health care workers experience the highest rates of violent injuries in the workplace in the US: 7.8 per 1,000 workers per year, compared to rates under 2.0 per 1,000 for other private industry."

    I strongly recommend against students joining medical, because it requires huge effort and time with compromise of much social life and earning will not be that great for the time and effort and time spent in becoming a doctor. With similar efforts one can have better earning and social life in many other professions. So unless one is more than 100 percent passionate literally then only one should opt.

  • @fattymoddy
    @fattymoddy 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    A lot of the discussion is about night shifts. My question is what about the IT sectors, the Call centres? Are they all 9-5 jobs? Don’t women work in those sectors?
    Simply solving the security in hospitals will not end the assaults. The next rape/murder may happen in other places of work. What happens then?
    The media is focused right now on a very micro level rather than looking at a broader picture.
    Lastly nobody after all the money and time spent, can just switch professions with a snap of your fingers.

    There is a committee which keeps checking if there is minimum facilities are there in hospitals.What are they doing? How are they doing away with the minimum expected standards n facilities. When they com for inspection to the institution they are given heavy gifts n calmed down n false reports given. That's why such things are happening.

He wants us to apply his golden rule that is ,- treat other people just as you like to be treated This rule applies to all people around the world.
