Sliced bread has way more practical applications, hands down. It's also a nutritious source of carbohydrates and fiber. Destiny 2's current state makes me want to poop, but...not in the same way. Not in a good, healthy "this is how things work" way.

I know right, It's crazy how many people didn't play the first game and haven't heard of the Gjallarhorn. I was doing a raid a few weeks ago and we kept failing and i said "I wished we had the Gjallarhorn" 4 out of the other 5 legit didn't know what the Gjallarhorn was lol.
Destiny is like a really bright kid with a bunch of potential and a bright future that just never applies themselves fully and hangs out with a bunch of bad influences

Agreed. I remember destiny 1 was so fun cuz it felt like a "do what you want and get good" but now it's really just "hey new season is here and now your back where you started" then you have to give up old weapons for something "better" to the point where it isn't fun anymore it's just a hassle.

I like having the simplistic exotic quests but I do wish they’d also introduce more complex tough ones occasionally. Ones like whisper of the worm provided a real feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat them and are some of the most fun destiny 2 content I have played.
Thing is sunsetting isn't the problem it's a symptom. The problem is bungie is lazy when it comes to working on the game. They do the minimal passable amount.

I actually left Destiny 2 for the remainder of this season to play Cyberpunk also, and I’ve been away from the game since late December. Recently coming back to the game, I haven’t felt compelled to really grind through all the stuff that piled since then or to complete any weeklies since the reset. Sunsetting and a lack of any compelling activities or even new Crucible stuff kind of killed incentive. I’ve been invested since D1’s beta, so I’ll probably never fully disappear from the game, but I think they need to get more ambitious to really keep things more engaging a bit longer.
@@jaxonhines3387 For me, these issues were apparent at the start of the season as well. The seasonal content itself was fairly anemic. I understand that it’s essentially a $10 add-on, but once I obtained the Hawkmoon, I checked out. The bigger problem I feel is that the Beyond Light expansion itself just doesn’t add enough of substance to the game’s core activities. Crucible players got shafted the most, and as one who likes to join friends in PvP, that really killed its momentum.

The whole “destiny tries to reach so many audiences” thing is SO TRUE which is why I get so livid when someone tries to tell me “bungo should remove pvp because destiny is a pve game” like, since when? Nah hell nah I've been away came back grinded for max a hour a day and still when the update dropped I was verry disappointed and I was like hell nah the same enemy's again for like the fifth time nah not doing it and I even have the seasons after that but nah can't do it one of the best games of al time but there is no innovation there since Destiny vanilla
destiny 2 is literally: pay like $50 for an expansion that you'll play for a week or two, then stop playing for 3 months, then come back for the same thing
What I don't like is they removed 2/3 of the content. I had stopped playing it for a while and I decided to return when I build myself a PC thinking "I will play something with my buddies". When I opened the game The Manegerie is gone, The Raid on Nessus is gone, couple of planets are gone, most of the Strikes are gone, the campaign (although not great it's nice to play it with someone). Most of the game is gone. I played the free version on PS4 and I was sold thinking to buy the DLCs when I have the budget, but even buying the DLCs now it still doesn't less content than the version I played a couple of months ago
I agree with a lot of things but I don't feel like Europa is that devoid of secrets and interesting Encounters, atleast compared to the last expensions. There are the Penguins with always a bit of an uniqe way to get them. There is the Trial of Darkness Secret. There is an emote puzzle/secret. There are the chest where you have to aktivate three terminals quickly. There is the cest that kills you unless you find its counterpart. (Similar to something he said in the Video) I think the dreaming city compares pretty well. But prove me wrong.

Well, D1 had the potential and with every update in content and balancing gave everyone the feeling at some point everyone had something they wanted to play and I have to say that at the end of D1Y3 3 months before D2 it was the best Destiny will ever be. When D2 launched and everything was quality wise back to D1Y1 my whole group was completely done with it
There is no anticheat in the planet that will stop cheaters, Valorant have cheaters with that insane anticheat they have, however, in my opinion, the only way Bungie can reduce cheaters by a lot is to put PVP behind a paywall, not all of PVP Just Iron Banner, comp and trials.
That and slightly addressing drip feed content. From then on, time will heal the game, that, if they don't screw something up like they use to every year.

@@TenSuns1914 Destiny doing it is the bigger problem, though, since a big part of it's appeal was the arsenal you could build up, collect, and use. Now, it's a shadow of it's former self, with many uniquely designed guns forced to either gather dust or be dismantled. The Dawn weapons being sunsetted next week come to mind, since they have very unique designs and sound profiles that can't just be replaced. Even if they did just reissue them later, it begs the question of why even bother sunsetting in the first place?

@@itsquiet379 I agree with stasis being broken but how does that make it difficult for new players? They're already facing opponents with better gear and mods plus getting frozen by stasis is just the same as getting hit by any other grenade or slow ability, you're just alive longer

The reason for d1 success is they focused on 1 audience that being the die hard grinders and competitive audience. Since they are now focusing on casual they have to balance easy with tough but not too tough but not too easy (get how confusing it is) how is one supposed to reach both balances. They should really choose one and make their mind up

@@RSAgility Jesus thank you. The moment those sad sacks see they're losing the fight, they just throw out a grenade that allows them to hit a still target by running up to you and shotgunning you. With no penalty if they somehow manage to miss the shot because it still deals damage when you get out of it.
IMO, I used to be super into PvP. Stasis should not be allowed in PvP, unless it's given to all players. It's like playing a FPS game, but you get to be P2W, and buy an OP weapon. But, the weapons being abilities. I love the PvP though. The fact that the weapons you grind, are what you use in PvP.. Thats what sets it as unique and keeps the grind going.. for PvP, and for PvE. I just don't think something bought should be used with free players, or players who don't have it..

We won't ever get something like Forsaken. They had 2 additional studios helping out with it. Unless Microsoft buys Bungie, we will only see Beyond Light size expansions which in itself isn't bad but the lack of attention to core activities is what's hurting the game
It's not like they dont care, they cant afford it. Beyond light was good, but sure, it wasnt amazing. But maybe that's ok. Maybe next year the next dlc will have better content but less of it. Quality over quantity

Jus started playing destiny! It’s fun but mostly interesting. Not rlly a pvp person I like going around the worlds fightin off the enemies w other players. Since you are a day 1 do you know where I can get some cool armor lol I need to fight in style
I have hope it will be better next season, I've barely had any problems with Destiny since Worthy personally but seeing the community in this state ruins it for me. It does confuse me though because some people say they want old content back then they bring it back and now everyone complains. Oh well, guess those are the downsides of having a very... diverse community.
Yep. Whilst there are definitely things that need changing, for me the biggest problem is how the community is or can be rather (as it's not everyone), I will be really enjoying something and the community ends up ruining it for me or they can be like you said, very contradictory with what they say after we get whats been asked for.

The community wanted a balance of the old and new content, but instead we got a half assed dlc that brought less than what was taken away. Also anytime we get old content it's almost always an exotic hand cannon or it's stale after you're finished with the initial questline. I wouldnt blame the community for being so annoyed because bungie cant seem to listen to anything more than a new spawn zone on Europa.
The only gun that for me thats given me that d1 feel of being rare and unique is Anarchy. I was lucky and got it on my 2nd or 3rd try whilst some people didn't get it until their 50th run. Anarchy is a good gun. Tag an enemy with 2 shots from it and whilst it does tick damage switch to a special weapon and do pretty big damage.
Anarchy, Mountain top, and Recluse. One Thousand Voices is amazing, but it doesn't do good damage sadly. Sad that there's only been basically 1 good gun per year of D2 so far.
I'm in the "unbalanced fun" camp. I was very into D1, hardcore. Haven't played destiny since rise of Iron. I HATED pvp in destiny, i was above average at it..it was basically shitty Halo. Tried 2 for a while when it went free. Didnt do anything for me. I now play Warframe to fill the void that Destiny left. The thing I miss the most is the Raids. Some of the best video game memories ever.
This makes me realize, I'm not entirely sure what my issue is with Destiny 2 exactly. I used to just say I don't like it ever since shadowkeep, but, I didn't really explain it. Now i'm starting to realize some of the small issues I have with it. Those namely being, the season pass, deletion of content, overly complex experience for new, or in my case, returning players, and the seemingly over reliance on having people you know to play the game with. (Anyone who's tried to do last wish in an LFG group will understand what I mean.)
I got back into destiny, towards the end of last season. 3 years D2 player.. but, I stopped, then got back into it. Introduced D2 to 3 new players, and got 2 of my old D2 buddies to play. Some of them even bought the season pass.. admittedly, I did too.. sad to say. It's only been about 3 days into the season? And their almost dropping the game.. rinse and repeat. No campaign.. no story.. PvP has Stasis, PvPvE has stasis.. You run the same strikes. Collect daily bounties.. rinse and repeat. I have a love and hate relationship with this game. I want it to be good, but hate how it is. Still, I return to it.. and grind those daily bounties.

Fr what’s the point grinding for a weapon when theirs gonna be a better version of it next season. There is literally no reason to upgrade most of your weapons. Destiny is hot garbage rn
people need to stop focusing on dedicated servers, there are still plenty of cheaters on games w/ dedicated servers. Dedicated servers being a way to stop cheaters was only a solution a long time ago and now it's just something that cheaters use to distract people who don't know better. That way when the devs implement dedicated servers the cheaters can't claim to the ignorant people that that they are really just really skilled and the people who are saying they are cheating are just whiners.

Because they don’t have to. They took the money and ran in that respect. To be fair a big part of the community warned people to stop defending every money move bungie made because they were never going to give us better dlc just because you buy more skins. Can’t believe they got fans to stop using their brains and fall for a blatant lie from day 1.
I stopped playing when they did Beyond Light. They literally erased content I paid for because their engine is garbage and they can’t optimize file sizes. World of Warcraft has been around over a decade and I can still go back and start a new character in the OG starting areas. Erasing content I paid them money for “to make it better” is inexcusable.
Their code is so bloated and buggy because they clearly use cut+paste templates. There has to be tons of "dead code" attached to everything at this point.
I remember the D1 demo. I remember the Loot Cave. I remember the Cryptarch trolling. I remember pushing Atheon off the edge. All this and the sheer majesty of Y1 I remember. I do enjoy Destiny 2 but it’s not the same, and I honestly prefer D1 though I hadn’t yet progressed to The Taken King and Rise of Iron since I dropped Destiny because young me was getting tired of the Elders grind. I have had Gjallarhorn since early Y1. Best friend ever. Never got the Mythoclast, though.
I played Destiny for the PVE because I really enjoyed the lore/story of the game. My issue with it now is that the game feels small. Destiny is an RPG without any immersive aspects to it at all. I don’t feel like I’m humanity’s last hope at survival, soaring through the stars to defeat the Darkness. I just feel like I’m chasing big numbers and doing chores.
I just made a new character and replayed through D1 and felt way more towards the story and the lore in D1 than I ever have in D2. Champions, Anti-barrier/unstoppable/overload mods, the only a few rolls matter, the “battle pass” styled bounty grinding and eververse has just left my D2 experience feel cheap and empty.
Same i literally brought d1 on ps4 last week and already feel so much more connected to the story again, just started replayijg TTK and i forgot how good it was. The whole of d1 is so much better than d2 ever has been and probably ever will be
I loved this game so much. It was the first time I had ever played a game like it. It was kind of magical playing through it. My brother introduced me to it and helped me through the game. Before I finished every DLC before shadowkeep came out, he quit from the constant grinding of the game. I didn’t have a buddy to play with so I quit too. It’s a shame to see the game get worse and worse. Other games couldn’t compare to this game. It was truly magical playing through it. I will come back to it someday. When they fix their game and I drag back my brother.
Every time i open a video with a thumbnail and a title like this, i immediately get flashbacks from all the conversation with friends and guardians around the world.. I mean.. it's almost 7 years that the "Destiny's Year Life Cicle" is going on and people seems to forget about it every time a season ends, a dlc come out or even a TWAB gets published on Thursdays.. We got sunsetted in D1 between Y1 and Y2 (Remember when all those Gjiallarhorn went straight to the trash can?), and now for the exact same reason we got sunsetted again, except this time is more "time-expanded" and not a straight cut to our inventory. "The endgame is boring and repetitive!" huh, duh? We know that since 2014? And in the first game we had to wait for MONTHS to get something new, now things are changed a bit and the waiting has been reduced to WEEKS. People now complains about the removing of old content, that they weren't playing anymore.. And at the same time still claims that D1 content was better.. To proceed to complain, again, for the recycled content when certain content come back from the past. We know Destiny, We know Bungie. We know there will be highs and lows. "You can love someone fully knowing they're never going to be perfect and will make you angry sometimes." that's the perfect analogy. Sorry for the rant. An italian guardian, tired of the complaints of the community.
Bungie kicked us in the balls with sunsetting. Like I did not farm for hours on end for a godroll of a weapon, only for it to be taken away. Sunsetting also kinda just removes the incentive for me to go for a godroll. If I get an average roll of a weapon, I wouldn't bother to go for a godroll, knowing the fact it'll be gone soon anyway.
i don't play it myself but literally everyone i know personally that has played has mentioned that they spent countless hours grinding for a certain weapon and boom bunjie gives it away leaving the people who did all that grinding speechless. if it true i can see why people would hate the game.
I remember grinding for Whisper Of The Worm. An Exotic Sniper, with a group of my buddies. 1 day of going in blind and figuring out. Another 2-3 days of watching videos and doing the parkour.. so many retries doing it.. and that's 1 of many weapons. Well, now you can just get the materials and make it at the exotic archive. @@timon20061995 This if a big part of it. Bungie kind of hamstrung themselves by tying themselves to a super high fidelity FPS format, every single asset in the game takes way more effort and takes up way more space.

Pineapple Quit playing destiny 2 when we were lied to at it's launch. Came back for forsaken liked it a lot but then the seasons came and they were mostly bad and I stopped. Then saw they tried selling the moon as "new" content and officially gave up on destiny. Then when beyond light came out and they tried selling it for the same price as taken king and forsaken I just laughed

It sucks too cause Bungie is known as a company that makes good/quality games and the original Halo’s yet they don’t want to do anything new or different it seems then Destiny, year after year... I never got into Destiny so don’t play it but have been waiting for Bungie to finally move on and make something new but nope 😔
@@KC_50 Divorce yourself from the "Bungie = Halo = Good" thought process. The current Bungie has no one on the design staff from those days and hasn't for a very long time. Most of the remaining "old Bungie devs" left before Destiny 1 was released, and at least one of them was unceremoniously kicked out of the club too. Much of what those original devs was scrapped or repurposed into the bleak original release, so there's basically no real "old Bungie" in anything Destiny-related. Current Destiny is on life support. They've settled into MVP mode (minimal viable product) to please investors while the bulk of their studio works on a different IP called Matter.
For me i usually play when a new expansion comes out, do everything new (strikes, raids, cool new gear, season gear) and then get bored again and stop playing until next season. And the cycle repeats. Sunsetting really took a toll on my motivation aswell. Knowing that my gear ,which I sometimes worked hard for and spent a lot of time perfecting , is gonna be useless in a few months drains me like nothing else ever did in this game :/ Which in turn makes me not wanna chase new stuff at all sometimes since by the time I will have found perfect combos and upgraded everything, it’s gonna be useless again.
Something you have to remember: Destiny survived Season of the Worthy (Jesus it's even painful to utter the name of that season) Hunt is nowhere near that kind of bad
@@Nerex27 Exactly I use to get on all the time on the weekends to do raids staying up late at night making some of my most favorite memories, then D2 came out and messed everything up because once it came out none of my friends wanted to play it anymore and neither did I so we all just got distant and I don't I'll ever have the same experiences in different games as I did in D1 ever again.
I left this game before they implemented their sunsetting bullshit. Whoever thought of that idea hopefully was fired. Killed the game for me also for my friends too.
@@Red-tn3wm I forget and that’s my bad. I was just clumping the vast majority of players/veterans so that’s my bad. But they did the same in D1 and no one bitched at all. They do it in D2 and everyone has a riot cause their shotgun that a TH-camr said was good is no longer “viable”, not unusable you can still use it just not in endgame, but because they can’t use it anymore as a crutch for that reason and need to find a new one. Again, happened in the first game but no one whined or bitch at all about it. Me who has played the both games since their betas notice more that people who are crying are PvP players cause they all want to be DFP or Mtash now and copy exactly what they do. But also the same people including a few PvE players now have expectations of what THEY want due to great expansions like forsaken or Taken King from D1, even tho bungie never made that idea and have confirmed they can’t do it anymore people still do it and ruin the game for themselves because of that. @@Ben-wq4zf I get what you're saying but from my perspective and I think for many others. We want to play the meta so that we aren't at a disadvantage against anyone, so we can get the rewards. As for those meta weapons, they were not free to get, you had grind at a certain type with a decent team which is already hard to do and then hope to get the drop, and then hope that it has a good roll. Similar thing when it comes to armor. It took a lot of us forever to get the gear and guns we wanted and for it to be stripped away from being able to use it wherever we want(if we want to be effective) is a big slap in the face. Me personally, doesn't have time to being that all over again. I would rather have direct nerfs to problamatic guns etc...
My problem for destiny 2 is the the new players have to deal with OP weapons and class abilities. It feel like pay to win. Buy that exotic for 1k silver (real money) u get pretty strong weapon. Buy an expansion to get new class abilities especially that ice magic, u get to freeze ur opponents and finish up with a beat down. Buy the expansion for more maps and contents...which is ok if they actually have the contents. But still feel like the same and nothing new but class abilities and new guns with different names and looks. I like destiny 1 better bc the class abilities have longer time to recharge and u have to use ur abilities wisely. The weapons seem to be more balance than the D2. The funny thing is that they started to learn there mistakes and started to improve. Now the create new destiny that went backward. In D2 ur abilities recharge faster and more often. I got frozen each time I respond and never get the chance to fire my guns often. I feel like the game r getting worse. Bungie should’ve stick with Halo. But at least the game r free, and that a positive. As for negative, buy all the expansion to get same level with those who have all the expansion. Which suck for new players. No fun

I played destiny 1 since it came out. I was there when the history of The community was written. I was do sad when I decided to drop destiny. im so angry and sad because I want it to be good. I want to see the lore develop and defeat powerful enemies. But I just dont see it happening anytime soon. its simply not the same thing anymore. sometimes I think we should've ended it at destiny 1.
Just because a game is slow doesn't mean that it's dying. Destiny has had high and low points since it's launch day. Think about how we had an entire year with no new content after TTK. Everyone said, oh Destiny is dead blah blah blah. CoO came out and oh, Destiny is dead again haha. Yet, here we are 5 years later and the same conversation is still being had.
Many games go through this kind of thing when they start dying. Everything slows down, content becomes piecemeal, and community trust lowers noticeably. This isn't some kind of thing people are making up, it's an actual concern.
I may be in the minority here when I say Vanilla Destiny is under appreciated. I have never been a fan of having to basically pay a $60 subscription for a game I already own; otherwise you can not compete with the new loot. I followed the story after but I didn’t play the game. Destiny 2 comes out and with a whole new game I thought the $60 was justified ... but the game was so bland and different. Destiny 2 also took focus away from Sparrows and that was probably imo the worst thing they could’ve done. The Gallahorne and Nighthawk was an achievement to earn, and new armor felt so satisfying, but the game seems to have tried too much in some areas and too little. I just hope if and when there is ever a Destiny 3, Bungie can make the perfect Destiny game now that they aren’t controlled by Activision

YES you explained it perfectly, earning things in D2 doesn't feel special at all. I remember the moment I got my Ice Breaker in D1 like it was yesterday, not even quest weapons in D2 are memorable.

I like having the simplistic exotic quests but I do wish they’d also introduce more complex tough ones occasionally. Ones like whisper of the worm provided a real feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat them and are some of the most fun destiny 2 content I have played.

I actually left Destiny 2 for the remainder of this season to play Cyberpunk also, and I’ve been away from the game since late December. Recently coming back to the game, I haven’t felt compelled to really grind through all the stuff that piled since then or to complete any weeklies since the reset. Sunsetting and a lack of any compelling activities or even new Crucible stuff kind of killed incentive. I’ve been invested since D1’s beta, so I’ll probably never fully disappear from the game, but I think they need to get more ambitious to really keep things more engaging a bit longer.

@@jaxonhines3387 For me, these issues were apparent at the start of the season as well. The seasonal content itself was fairly anemic. I understand that it’s essentially a $10 add-on, but once I obtained the Hawkmoon, I checked out. The bigger problem I feel is that the Beyond Light expansion itself just doesn’t add enough of substance to the game’s core activities. Crucible players got shafted the most, and as one who likes to join friends in PvP, that really killed its momentum.

What I don't like is they removed 2/3 of the content. I had stopped playing it for a while and I decided to return when I build myself a PC thinking "I will play something with my buddies". When I opened the game The Manegerie is gone, The Raid on Nessus is gone, couple of planets are gone, most of the Strikes are gone, the campaign (although not great it's nice to play it with someone). Most of the game is gone. I played the free version on PS4 and I was sold thinking to buy the DLCs when I have the budget, but even buying the DLCs now it still doesn't less content than the version I played a couple of months ago

I agree with a lot of things but I don't feel like Europa is that devoid of secrets and interesting Encounters, atleast compared to the last expensions.
There are the Penguins with always a bit of an uniqe way to get them.

There are the chest where you have to aktivate three terminals quickly.

Destiny 2 just doesn’t seem to have the same mysterious feeling and excitement for exploration, raids and missions that D1 caused at least for me.
Well, D1 had the potential and with every update in content and balancing gave everyone the feeling at some point everyone had something they wanted to play and I have to say that at the end of D1Y3 3 months before D2 it was the best Destiny will ever be.
When D2 launched and everything was quality wise back to D1Y1 my whole group was completely done with it

Sunsetting dynamic needs adjusting. Anti-Cheat needs to be heavily enhanced. Destiny solved mostly.
There is no anticheat in the planet that will stop cheaters, Valorant have cheaters with that insane anticheat they have, however, in my opinion, the only way Bungie can reduce cheaters by a lot is to put PVP behind a paywall, not all of PVP Just Iron Banner, comp and trials.
That and slightly addressing drip feed content. From then on, time will heal the game, that, if they don't screw something up like they use to every year.

@@TenSuns1914 Destiny doing it is the bigger problem, though, since a big part of it's appeal was the arsenal you could build up, collect, and use. Now, it's a shadow of it's former self, with many uniquely designed guns forced to either gather dust or be dismantled. The Dawn weapons being sunsetted next week come to mind, since they have very unique designs and sound profiles that can't just be replaced. Even if they did just reissue them later, it begs the question of why even bother sunsetting in the first place?

IMO, I used to be super into PvP. Stasis should not be allowed in PvP, unless it's given to all players. It's like playing a FPS game, but you get to be P2W, and buy an OP weapon. But, the weapons being abilities.
I love the PvP though. The fact that the weapons you grind, are what you use in PvP.. Thats what sets it as unique and keeps the grind going.. for PvP, and for PvE. I just don't think something bought should be used with free players, or players who don't have it..

It does confuse me though because some people say they want old content back then they bring it back and now everyone complains. Whilst there are definitely things that need changing, for me the biggest problem is how the community is or can be rather (as it's not everyone), I will be really enjoying something and the community ends up ruining it for me or they can be like you said, very contradictory with what they say after we get whats been asked for.

The community wanted a balance of the old and new content, but instead we got a half assed dlc that brought less than what was taken away. Also anytime we get old content it's almost always an exotic hand cannon or it's stale after you're finished with the initial questline. I wouldnt blame the community for being so annoyed because bungie cant seem to listen to anything more than a new spawn zone on Europa.
The only gun that for me thats given me that d1 feel of being rare and unique is Anarchy. I was lucky and got it on my 2nd or 3rd try whilst some people didn't get it until their 50th run. Anarchy is a good gun. Tag an enemy with 2 shots from it and whilst it does tick damage switch to a special weapon and do pretty big damage.

I'm in the "unbalanced fun" camp. I was very into D1, hardcore. Haven't played destiny since rise of Iron. I HATED pvp in destiny, i was above average at it..it was basically shitty Halo. Tried 2 for a while when it went free. Didnt do anything for me. I now play Warframe to fill the void that Destiny left. The thing I miss the most is the Raids. Some of the best video game memories ever.
This makes me realize, I'm not entirely sure what my issue is with Destiny 2 exactly.
I used to just say I don't like it ever since shadowkeep, but, I didn't really explain it.
Now i'm starting to realize some of the small issues I have with it.
Those namely being, the season pass, deletion of content, overly complex experience for new, or in my case, returning players, and the seemingly over reliance on having people you know to play the game with. (Anyone who's tried to do last wish in an LFG group will understand what I mean.)
I got back into destiny, towards the end of last season. 3 years D2 player.. but, I stopped, then got back into it.
Introduced D2 to 3 new players, and got 2 of my old D2 buddies to play. Some of them even bought the season pass.. admittedly, I did too.. sad to say. It's only been about 3 days into the season? And their almost dropping the game.. rinse and repeat. No campaign.. no story.. PvP has Stasis, PvPvE has stasis.. You run the same strikes. Collect daily bounties.. rinse and repeat.
I have a love and hate relationship with this game. I want it to be good, but hate how it is. Still, I return to it.. and grind those daily bounties.

people need to stop focusing on dedicated servers, there are still plenty of cheaters on games w/ dedicated servers. Dedicated servers being a way to stop cheaters was only a solution a long time ago and now it's just something that cheaters use to distract people who don't know better. That way when the devs implement dedicated servers the cheaters can't claim to the ignorant people that that they are really just really skilled and the people who are saying they are cheating are just whiners.

I stopped playing when they did Beyond Light. They literally erased content I paid for because their engine is garbage and they can’t optimize file sizes. World of Warcraft has been around over a decade and I can still go back and start a new character in the OG starting areas. Erasing content I paid them money for “to make it better” is inexcusable.
Their code is so bloated and buggy because they clearly use cut+paste templates. There has to be tons of "dead code" attached to everything at this point.

All this and the sheer majesty of Y1 I remember. I do enjoy Destiny 2 but it’s not the same, and I honestly prefer D1 though I hadn’t yet progressed to The Taken King and Rise of Iron since I dropped Destiny because young me was getting tired of the Elders grind.
I have had Gjallarhorn since early Y1. Best friend ever. Never got the Mythoclast, though.
I played Destiny for the PVE because I really enjoyed the lore/story of the game. My issue with it now is that the game feels small. Destiny is an RPG without any immersive aspects to it at all. I don’t feel like I’m humanity’s last hope at survival, soaring through the stars to defeat the Darkness. I just feel like I’m chasing big numbers and doing chores.
This is a vicious cycle of destiny being good to ok and finally dead bad.
And then when a new one is released the cycle still continues.

I just made a new character and replayed through D1 and felt way more towards the story and the lore in D1 than I ever have in D2. Champions, Anti-barrier/unstoppable/overload mods, the only a few rolls matter, the “battle pass” styled bounty grinding and eververse has just left my D2 experience feel cheap and empty.
Same i literally brought d1 on ps4 last week and already feel so much more connected to the story again, just started replayijg TTK and i forgot how good it was. The whole of d1 is so much better than d2 ever has been and probably ever will be
I loved this game so much. It was the first time I had ever played a game like it. It was kind of magical playing through it. My brother introduced me to it and helped me through the game. Before I finished every DLC before shadowkeep came out, he quit from the constant grinding of the game. I didn’t have a buddy to play with so I quit too. It’s a shame to see the game get worse and worse. Other games couldn’t compare to this game. It was truly magical playing through it. I will come back to it someday. When they fix their game and I drag back my brother.
Every time i open a video with a thumbnail and a title like this, i immediately get flashbacks from all the conversation with friends and guardians around the world..
I mean.. it's almost 7 years that the "Destiny's Year Life Cicle" is going on and people seems to forget about it every time a season ends, a dlc come out or even a TWAB gets published on Thursdays..
We got sunsetted in D1 between Y1 and Y2 (Remember when all those Gjiallarhorn went straight to the trash can?), and now for the exact same reason we got sunsetted again, except this time is more "time-expanded" and not a straight cut to our inventory.
"The endgame is boring and repetitive!" huh, duh? We know that since 2014? And in the first game we had to wait for MONTHS to get something new, now things are changed a bit and the waiting has been reduced to WEEKS.
People now complains about the removing of old content, that they weren't playing anymore.. And at the same time still claims that D1 content was better.. To proceed to complain, again, for the recycled content when certain content come back from the past.
We know Destiny, We know Bungie. We know there will be highs and lows.
"You can love someone fully knowing they're never going to be perfect and will make you angry sometimes." that's the perfect analogy.

I stopped playing 8 weeks ago cause of sunsetting. All that time I put into the game for a weapon for it to be taken away sucks.
Bungie kicked us in the balls with sunsetting.

I did not farm for hours on end for a godroll of a weapon, only for it to be taken away. Sunsetting also kinda just removes the incentive for me to go for a godroll. If I get an average roll of a weapon, I wouldn't bother to go for a godroll, knowing the fact it'll be gone soon anyway.

i don't play it myself but literally everyone i know personally that has played has mentioned that they spent countless hours grinding for a certain weapon and boom bunjie gives it away leaving the people who did all that grinding speechless. if it true i can see why people would hate the game.
I remember grinding for Whisper Of The Worm. An Exotic Sniper, with a group of my buddies. 1 day of going in blind and figuring out. Another 2-3 days of watching videos and doing the parkour.. so many retries doing it.. and that's 1 of many weapons.
Well, now you can just get the materials and make it at the exotic archive. Niceeeee-

@@timon20061995 This if a big part of it. Bungie kind of hamstrung themselves by tying themselves to a super high fidelity FPS format, every single asset in the game takes way more effort and takes up way more space.

Someone who can be both critical but also realistic and doesn't want the game to be 1 specific thing ? Quit playing destiny 2 when we were lied to at it's launch. Came back for forsaken liked it a lot but then the seasons came and they were mostly bad and I stopped. Then saw they tried selling the moon as "new" content and officially gave up on destiny. Then when beyond light came out and they tried selling it for the same price as taken king and forsaken I just laughed
Same. Shadow keep is when I left. It's bad when the public events and materials on the moon, all spawned in same place as they did in destiny 1

It sucks too cause Bungie is known as a company that makes good/quality games and the original Halo’s yet they don’t want to do anything new or different it seems then Destiny, year after year... I never got into Destiny so don’t play it but have been waiting for Bungie to finally move on and make something new but nope 😔

@@KC_50 Divorce yourself from the "Bungie = Halo = Good" thought process. The current Bungie has no one on the design staff from those days and hasn't for a very long time. Most of the remaining "old Bungie devs" left before Destiny 1 was released, and at least one of them was unceremoniously kicked out of the club too. Much of what those original devs was scrapped or repurposed into the bleak original release, so there's basically no real "old Bungie" in anything Destiny-related.
Current Destiny is on life support. They've settled into MVP mode (minimal viable product) to please investors while the bulk of their studio works on a different IP called Matter.
They could move on and make Destiny 3 and focus on more compelling story driven content
For me i usually play when a new expansion comes out, do everything new (strikes, raids, cool new gear, season gear) and then get bored again and stop playing until next season. And the cycle repeats.
Sunsetting really took a toll on my motivation aswell.
Knowing that my gear ,which I sometimes worked hard for and spent a lot of time perfecting , is gonna be useless in a few months drains me like nothing else ever did in this game :/
Which in turn makes me not wanna chase new stuff at all sometimes since by the time I will have found perfect combos and upgraded everything, it’s gonna be useless again.

@@Nerex27 Exactly I use to get on all the time on the weekends to do raids staying up late at night making some of my most favorite memories, then D2 came out and messed everything up because once it came out none of my friends wanted to play it anymore and neither did I so we all just got distant and I don't I'll ever have the same experiences in different games as I did in D1 ever again.

@@Red-tn3wm I forget and that’s my bad. I was just clumping the vast majority of players/veterans so that’s my bad. But they did the same in D1 and no one bitched at all. They do it in D2 and everyone has a riot cause their shotgun that a TH-camr said was good is no longer “viable”, not unusable you can still use it just not in endgame, but because they can’t use it anymore as a crutch for that reason and need to find a new one. Again, happened in the first game but no one whined or bitch at all about it. Me who has played the both games since their betas notice more that people who are crying are PvP players cause they all want to be DFP or Mtash now and copy exactly what they do. But also the same people including a few PvE players now have expectations of what THEY want due to great expansions like forsaken or Taken King from D1, even tho bungie never made that idea and have confirmed they can’t do it anymore people still do it and ruin the game for themselves because of that. Sorry I needed to get my thoughts out and very sorry for throwing you into the majority, I’m just tired of this communities, who been awarded best community TWICE, for their toxic double standards.
@@Ben-wq4zf I get what you're saying but from my perspective and I think for many others. We want to play the meta so that we aren't at a disadvantage against anyone, so we can get the rewards. As for those meta weapons, they were not free to get, you had grind at a certain type with a decent team which is already hard to do and then hope to get the drop, and then hope that it has a good roll. Similar thing when it comes to armor. It took a lot of us forever to get the gear and guns we wanted and for it to be stripped away from being able to use it wherever we want(if we want to be effective) is a big slap in the face. Me personally, doesn't have time to being that all over again. I would rather have direct nerfs to problamatic guns etc...

My problem for destiny 2 is the the new players have to deal with OP weapons and class abilities.
It feel like pay to win.
Buy that exotic for 1k silver (real money) u get pretty strong weapon.
Buy an expansion to get new class abilities especially that ice magic, u get to freeze ur opponents and finish up with a beat down.
Buy the expansion for more maps and contents...which is ok if they actually have the contents. But still feel like the same and nothing new but class abilities and new guns with different names and looks.
I like destiny 1 better bc the class abilities have longer time to recharge and u have to use ur abilities wisely. The weapons seem to be more balance than the D2. The funny thing is that they started to learn there mistakes and started to improve. Now the create new destiny that went backward.
In D2 ur abilities recharge faster and more often. I got frozen each time I respond and never get the chance to fire my guns often. I feel like the game r getting worse. Bungie should’ve stick with Halo. But at least the game r free, and that a positive. As for negative, buy all the expansion to get same level with those who have all the expansion. Which suck for new players. No fun

I played destiny 1 since it came out. I was there when the history of The community was written. I was do sad when I decided to drop destiny. im so angry and sad because I want it to be good. I want to see the lore develop and defeat powerful enemies. But I just dont see it happening anytime soon. its simply not the same thing anymore. sometimes I think we should've ended it at destiny 1.

Just because a game is slow doesn't mean that it's dying. Destiny has had high and low points since it's launch day. Think about how we had an entire year with no new content after TTK. Everyone said, oh Destiny is dead blah blah blah. CoO came out and oh, Destiny is dead again haha. Yet, here we are 5 years later and the same conversation is still being had.
Many games go through this kind of thing when they start dying. Everything slows down, content becomes piecemeal, and community trust lowers noticeably. This isn't some kind of thing people are making up, it's an actual concern.
Most of the people that never played D1 and got into D2 have bailed out quickly. I know I did and everyone I met in D2 that was like me.
I may be in the minority here when I say Vanilla Destiny is under appreciated. I have never been a fan of having to basically pay a $60 subscription for a game I already own; otherwise you can not compete with the new loot. I followed the story after but I didn’t play the game. Destiny 2 comes out and with a whole new game I thought the $60 was justified ... but the game was so bland and different. Destiny 2 also took focus away from Sparrows and that was probably imo the worst thing they could’ve done. The Gallahorne and Nighthawk was an achievement to earn, and new armor felt so satisfying, but the game seems to have tried too much in some areas and too little. I just hope if and when there is ever a Destiny 3, Bungie can make the perfect Destiny game now that they aren’t controlled by Activision
