I notice these surface drones are jet propelled rather than propellor driven - hence their incredible manoeuvrability. Also, there are no propellors to be snagged by cables or any other form of prevention measures to stop the drones from getting to it's target.

I am betting the US Navy goes back to having sailors standing on deck looking in specific directions like they used to. While I don't think either the Russians or the Chinese will be using these against us any time soon, I can easily envision non-state actors doing so, especially in areas with low maneuverability and/or close to shore. Imagine the Hoothies using some of the surface drones in the Red Sea....
It strikes me that simple barge boards that trap the bow wave and channel it under the hull may make the bow-wave/wake less visible and possibly faster.

Could you explain how the water drones find targets and lock on to the targets? GPS? then who and how they know GSP location of the target, especially a moving ship?
Or maybe they use laser targeting, then there has to be someone to mark the target from a few kilometers away, probably from the ship these drones were launched from?
They use nato drones, planes and satellites to find targets russia is at war with nato and winning hence all this propaganda, censorship and panic in the western world
You probably won’t get full details until after the war because of operational security. Because if you know then the russians could know and that could reduce or eliminate the water drones effectiveness.
Naval drones detect targets using sonar, radar, infrared sensors, and AI algorithms. Data links allow drones to share and receive target information across a network of platforms for accurate engagement.
@@Interestingengineeringofficial how does the data link work? does it use SpaceX internet?
Where does this data come from?
Do they get data from Satellites? MQ-9 Reaper Drones? AWACS?

How about a strong nose that can smash into those pillars one after the other spliiting it in bits, then expand to say 20 or 30 and the Kerch Brige is no more, how many will it take for one support then see the rest fall like dominos

Is that a jetski with a bomb? Nice 👍
Well... adapt or succumb, is the name of the game. As short time solution, I see fully automatic, short-range radar guided 30mm autocannons - the ones that are used against airplanes/rockets/airdrones can be adapted to this as well. For the underwaterdrones: small, short range but flexible anti-torpedo torpedo's, that are guided by sonar and/or the sound of the enemy underwater-drones.
I like how they use stock footage of the American Mantas 12 foot drone.
Magura-V5 + TLK-150- combination of the two - MAGURA K-150.

whats the price of this sea drone?
Obviously someone has thought of torpedo drones but just wondering if it is feasible. Would be a game changer to have a massive torpedo drone to sink Russian ships .
Can someone with engineering knowledge explain how they get such long ranges out of these things?
It doesnt sound st all feasable to me but im not an engineer.
Biggest on is 39 feet long bro, you can pack a lot of batteries in a space like that.
Depends on speed. I don't they can go full speed nearly that far. I would guess an efficient stealthy cruising speed and then an attack speed when target is sighted.
If I was on their place i'd pack it with small turbogenerator those things are super compact and can generate alot of power. + boomy thing would become lighter till it goes. Batteries isn't good thing.. but can be if they use explosive as a batteries ro store potential
3:15 why tf are there two range values??
I couldn't tell either except maybe at full speed range is shortened and maybe at cruising speed range is extended? I'm not sure.
Thanks!
Philippines coastguard must consider these for eez patrol
Submarine type drones would be great.

SWATH configuration. A single pod (nav & comm) mounted on thin vertical fin(s) would be the only feature above the surface. The two submerged tubes would be long and thin. (Better hydrodynamics, and more surface area to cool rapidly discharging batteries at high speeds.). MUCH better performance in rougher surface conditions (less shock to components as opposed to high speed, surface hulls which slam into waves). Reduced visible wake signature.
I surely hope that DARPA is aggressively pursuing such drone programs, and even suicide manned configurations. Offensive capabilities are always a focus, but it is CRUCIAL to acknowledge that almost ANY country could develop and deploy such weapons against US naval vessels…from a commercial fishing boat.

if some humble RC speed boats can be so effective i would think twice before investing in expensive warships
I can already see future military history books on the conflict in Ukraine
and after the 50th military ship sunk by stupid radio-controlled boats the Russians understood that ships were vulnerable when stopped in ports and that they had to be protected with barriers
