    Thanks for this video showing your process! My Accord has 223k miles on it and I plan on restoring it!

      Wow! My Accord is about to break 150k miles. I'm doing my best to take care of it by replacing all the fluids (regularly), worn suspension parts, and engine parts like timing belt and valve adjustment. I'm hoping I can get can get another 100k miles out of this car. I've had the car since it had about 27k miles.

    Very hard to watch with the fish eye camera lens. Everything is so distorted.

    Very much been thinking about doing this for my 07 6/6 sedan, however just cannot bring myself to spend $550 on an oem graphite black cover 😭
    video is 12/10 though very good walkthrough

    My 2005 hybrid with 212k miles still running excellent but seats just started to cracked open everywhere this summer, each about 3 inches long!! Couldn't find a good used seat from junk yard around so just purchased the seat covers from eBay. Hope I won't break something else while replacing the covers.

      @@jtown1bb It's great, it's better than new because of the loosely fitting of all the hooks/loops that I do, make it more grand and comfortable.

    I was thinking about getting the cover on ebay for $170 then taking to a upholstery shop but I’m sure they would charge me like $100-$150 to replace it so I will just be going to the pick a part and getting a used seat that has no tears on the seat which would probably come out to the same price or maybe even less.

    And its good to know i don’t have to remove the front seat back panel. To remove the seat bottom. Also my 04 Accord has only 67,700 miles so the seats have hardly been sat in. And use Meguires Gold Class Leather

    That's great! I think I'm going to do this for my '08 Accord. The driver seat especially is pretty destroyed. How long did it take you to do each seat? Thanks!

      @@MrSupernova111 Also, I don't think it was necessary to remove the seatback to do this job which would save some time. A couple years later, I repaired the bolster on the seat back by buying a passenger side seat back cover on ebay then cut a leather patch from it. I found the only glue that worked, and it worked very well was Gorilla gel superglue.

    Not sure if you are clipping the hog wire closed and then sticking it into the hole or clipping it to something metal in the seat. need to talk more to explain what you are doing.

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The attachment points for the hog rings are embedded in the cushion. You will certainly notice them when you snip each old one. To my surprise, it was easy to squeeze the hog ring to each one. Another approach some people use small zip ties instead of hog rings. I never tried.

  • @truejey7475

    Hi. What gauge are them hog rings if you don't mind asking. I'm ready to do my seats also. Thank you so much. Your video was very helpful.

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just measured one with a wire stripper and they are 14 guage. Makes sense as they appear to be about as thick as 14 gauge electric wire. The crimping part of fastening was surprisingly easy considering I never did it before.

    Great video! Where do I get the hog rings and the pliers u used to hook/unhook them?

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cut the old ones with a wire cutter. Get 3/4 inch hog rings. You can get them on Amazon. I got mine at True Value Hardware. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this part of the process went.

    Hi do you think the process of replacing cushions with the cover attached for the back and butt be easier than this or about the same? For the passenger front seat? This is so helpful btw thanks for filming

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know. I never did the back. Sadly, I had to get rid of my Accord a few months ago. Rust took its toll. 18 years and 264,000 miles.

    Any other video or site instruction for the back cover of the front seat? I don't know how to remove the back panel without breaking the plastic.

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to take out one phillips screw and lightly jiggle it off. I show that at 2:26 into the video.

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like I didn't mention I pulled out the small push fastener that faces the rear. I probably just tugged, but might have pried it off with a very small flat blade screw driver. You can see me pushing it back in at 30:12 in the video.

    it is possible to change the seat on the left with the one on the right?

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are talking about the whole seat, then no, because the airbag and power seat controls are on the wrong side. You might be able to do something with just the bottom seat cushion, but I am not sure. Recently, I wanted to repair a nasty portion of the seat back on the driver's side. Unfortunately, the seat cover would have cost $550. Instead, I bought the seat cover for the passenger side on ebay for $50 and cannibalized the leather to use a a patch. Looks decent enough considering how much I saved. The hardest part was figuring out which glue to use. Turns out Gorilla superglue gel worked very well. Several other glues I tried failed miserably.

    Where did you get your seat cover from?

    • @gforcecache
      @gforcecache  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      www.myhondapartsstore.com. I show the screen shot of the part early on in the video. Be careful, there are two different covers for that model. The tag on the old seat cover identifies the correct one. You may need to speak with them on the phone to make sure you are getting the correct one. They are good folks.
